Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: Gate of Thunder US
09/19/2014, 07:23 PM
I have a Duo on the way bought around these parts, but now I need a few games...

I have dealt successfully with a few people here, but can link to feedback on another forum under the same name.

Gate of Thunder US (with manual).

I'm in Canada, ready to pay with Paypal.

Thanks!

I picked up a copy of Lords of Thunder US, but the sad thing is I didn't have a Duo yet...

So I picked up one around these parts to solve the "problem".

Can't wait to get it!

Been a while. After a pair of shooters, hoping to enter a territory that's a little less hostile for me. I've been taking so much side-scrolling arcade abuse... I didn't remember Cadash being so punishing!

My bad, that's the title of the French version of Talespin.

Bloody Wolf seems right up my alley, from what I've been reading around here.

For those of you who beat it, is it a hard 1CC?

Grew up with Nintendos, until one day I sold my SNES to buy a front-loading Sega CD. Upon playing it the first time, I almost cried (I remember the feeling very vividly), thought I had made a great mistake and wanted my SNES with Super Metroid, A Link to the Past, FF2-3 and Lufia back. I stuck with Sega a bit more then bought a Saturn a while after it came out, then Dreamcast (which I loved).

The TG16 had always been a curiosity for me - very few people I knew had one, and most of my friends were into video games. I remember playing Looping at a friend's, and not liking it at all, dismissing the console. I came back to the console very randomly only recently. I always knew what it was, but had never actually sat down and played a good game on one.

Glad I gave it a chance. Been powering on one more than any of my other consoles for weeks now.

Cadash... Getting pretty far! Good memories related to that game, too, which makes for a great playing experience.

The new Commander sets being mono-colored is a bad idea. They could have reprinted the filter lands but most definitely won't at this point. Not in that product, that is!

I don't hate the new layout of M15, something which bugged other people. The change from old frame to new frame was shocking to me (post-Masques), but the M15 layout change is minor.

A set I'm skipping altogether.

Last game I played was FF8. I bought FF9, but was turned off by the protagonist having a tail, for some reason. FF2 is, for me, the best of the series, followed by FF3(US) for the sheer scope of the great game in the little cart.

My son is around retro consoles quite a bit. He recently found my Gameboy Color with Pokémon Blue in it. He really wanted to play the game (was ecstatic, in fact), but complained right off the bat that he couldn't see anything and put it down after 1 minute. Absolutely no persistence. When you had one game, one console and all the time in the world, you explored. Now you have an infinity of games and you don't play anything anymore.

Bought a copy of Wonderboy in Monster Land for SMS recently, gave it a go last night.

Apart from my hands that got sore because of the il-designed controller, I enjoyed it quite a bit. First Wonderboy game played since the 80s, and it did bring back memories.

I picked up a TG16 this week along with a copy of Neutopia 2, only game the store had. I've been doing a dungeon / day so far, making it last. I find the game to be excellent; graphically it's quite polished, the story is not bad at all. It's not Zelda:LTTP, but then again no game is.

Quote from: elderbroom on 07/24/2014, 10:12 AMSo welcome. If I do stumble across any bundles and end up with doubles I will keep you in mind. Right now my only double is R-Type 1 for PCE and I committed to giving that away in an upcoming raffle.
Thanks. I understand it takes time to build trust in a community, something I have learned with my 9+ years as a member in the shmups forums.  I was given great opportunities and deals on impossible-to-find games over the years at decent prices, and when the time came to get let a few go, I unloaded them back to the community, virtually not making a buck on anything. Most of my stuff stayed within Canada as well, oddly enough. Deep pockets in the West, it seems :)

The Everdrive you mentioned is certainly an interesting prospect, but for me nothing beats inserting the actual cart in the console, which is why I'm picking up a few rather common loose cards here and there. I'm not exactly ready to sink several thousands back into collecting games, as I have very little time to play these days. Having access to such a card would kind of be the best of 2 worlds, though, trying games on the hardware and then picking them up. When I'm done picking up my first round of hucards, I'll definitely look into it.

The TG16 has always been an oddity to me. For some reason it feels super exciting to discover these games I'd heard about but never really got to play in the past. I stayed up late a few nights in a row now, looking at what I could pick up. It almost troubles my sleep, which is a feeling I haven't experienced in a few years when it comes to gaming. Good times ahead, it seems!

I updates my first post - found Ninja Spirit, added Legendary Axe. Thanks, people.

I'm in QC. My picking up a TG16 is a very random affair... I woke up one morning a few days ago and decided "what the hell, I want one". I have no idea where the thought came from. Called a local gameshop and they had a vanilla console for sale. Dropped by, snatched the machine.

I used to have a very extensive JP Megadrive / Saturn collection, but had to sell a few years ago to put money into another hobby. Shocked at the going rate of carts/discs these days! Still, considering how the stuff I bought with the money at the time greatly appreciated too, I can't say it's a waste at all. Pretty sure the people I sold the games too still have them. Bought from gamers/collectors, sold back to gamers/collectors.

Thanks for the welcome so far!

Hi there. I picked up a few games to see how much I liked it, and here I am back for more. Downward spiral kind of thing, I guess.

Looking for a preferably loose, clean copy of Soldier Blade (US). If you have the manual we can work things out. I don't care for a complete, boxed version at this point.

Also looking for a copy of Air Zonk. Same idea than Soldier Blade... I'm not after a boxed copy - a loose, or hucard / manual copy will be all right.

Willing to pay with PP, I'm located in Canada.

Cheers in advance.
