[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Playing Dynastic Hero]

So, I decided to start a game of Dynastic Hero, and so far I am really enjoying the game.  I have one complaint however....his damn walking speed...  Please tell me there is some sort of faster boot or something that you pick up along the way.  I find myself pressing the direction button harder, without even realizing I am doing so, to try and force his pudgy little ass to move faster..

Hey guys, it is with a very heavy, and humble heart I come to the forums today.  Many of you know that the last couple months have been rough on my family, with my father falling ill and Jimilee having issues with the pregnancy.  Well, the good news is, my father has just about fully recovered and is doing much better.  Now for the bitter/sweet...

We had our baby girl May 7th, and she is just beautiful.  She is perfectly healthy, and everything seems to be in order, except for one thing..  Sutton was born without her soft palate.  Read about that here if you would like to.  http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/birthdefects/cleftlip.html

Basically, we have to start taking her to a specialist starting this coming Monday, to talk about when to have it repaired.  Hers happens to be further back, so it is hard to notice, unless she is crying and her mouth is open.  What this means for her, is difficulty eating, breathing, ect..  We had a pretty good scare last night, and had to call an ambulance.  She spit up a little, and it went into the hole in the soft palate, causing her to choke.  I didnt know how to react, and Jimilee was freaking out.  I was able to hold it together, and suction her mouth and nasal canals, but it was scarey as hell.  She was all arched back trying to breath, and turning blue in the face.  Lets just say, I never want that to happen again.     Anyway, enough of that.  On to what is hard for me to do, but I am going to put it out there anyway.

Basically, my cushion funds have been depleted, and missing more work on top of it now to care for little Sutton.  It is taking a toll, and I need help.  The specialist Sutton needs to see, is in Richmond VA, about 45 minutes from my home and Jimilee cannot drive nor work for 6 weeks.  Basically, I have not started to fall behind yet, but that door is slowly starting to open.  I am not begging by any means, and its hard to even ask for help as I am a proud person that is used to helping others in time of need.    If any of you would like to donate anything at all, I would be most grateful.  Any amount would be appreciated.  My PayPal is jimileelindell@gmail.com if anyone would like to.  Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read this.  All thoughts and prayers are VERY welcome.

[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Ok to leave interface unit on?]

Just noticed that my IFU get "slightly warm" when it is left in the locked position, which of course causes the green LED to light up.  Should I not leave it locked, or does it matter?  It by no means get hot, I just can feel a difference.  Not sure if I am supposed to be switching it off when I am not playing or not.

So, I bought pyschobear's Turbo Duo from him, and when I got it the HuCARD side worked great, but the CD side would not spin up.  After visiting the chat, I decided to go ahead and take the top off, and see what I can see...  Ok, so far so good.  Turned out to be an easy fix, the laser gear was just stuck for whatever reason.  A little fiddling and it went right to working.  Sooo...rather than screw the lid back on, I decide to clean it.  It had something all over it, and in the cracks and stuff so I wanted to clean it while I had it off.  After a good washing, looked great. Dried it off, but decided I wanted to get it all dry in the cracks, crevices.. ect...  I grab a hair dryer, yeah laugh it up, and proceed to drying it.  Working well, so I set it down for a second to do something, literally not long at all...  and came back to disaster...  The following pics shall tell the story, or a sad demise of a Duo when left to the hands of a moron...

In the same vein as Necromancer, I decided to start a thread with details on what I am currently playing on the Turbo.  This may include games I have completed or started, whatever.    Anyway, in the last several years with current consoles, I've found that I can only play an hour or two at the most before I am ready to put it down for the day.  I have always thought that it was because I'm older and have shit to do, ect..  However, I find myself playing the Turbo for HOURS, and I do mean hours.  Why is that, I asked myself....  Well, for me it's obvious and just proves that retro games had to do something to lure you in, besides bombard you with awesome graphics.  For me, it has always been about story line and game design.  Today's games are still fun, but I find myself saying I will play an hour and put it down.  With my Turbo, that is not the case.  I actually dont want to put it down.  Just yesterday I had to put it down, because my damn thumb was starting to not function..    Now, that brings back a memory or two.  Anyway, on to the games....



I started Ys Book I & II not too long ago, and managed to beat it yesterday afternoon.  I believe I logged in almost 6 hours playing yesterday, which is an amazing feat for me, since I haven't played any game that long since Final Fantasy X.  I managed to beat Darm, after he handed me my ass over and over and over and over...yeah you get the idea right?  But the game was just built to make me WANT to keep going.  That says a lot for a game, especially in today's gaming market.

  
Anyway, this morning I started Ys III, and right away I am impressed with how much better it looks and sounds than the SNES version.  I played this game on the SNES years ago, and loved it, but damn it looks soooo much better on the Duo.  I cannot get over how vastly improved it is.  Now, granted I had it for the Duo all those years ago, but I never messed with it since I had beaten the SNES version...  Oh well, good things DO come to those who wait I guess.  So, with that..  I will start my game journey.

I have a model 1 Sega Genesis along with the M1 CD unit, up for grabs.  The Genesis works great, and I have cleaned it up inside and out.  However...the CD unit does not power on.  Not sure if its just a fuse or what, and was going to send it to be repaired, but I changed my mind.  If someone here wants it, just lemme know.  It comes with a few games, and I will get pics posted here soon.

SO, yeah.  I have been messing with my Wii lately, seeing as how I will be getting a Wii U soon.  I soft modded it yesterday, and installed a bunch of apps.  Emulation on this thing is awesome.  WiiMednafen is bad ass.  Who else here has done this?  Any tips for a newbie to this?    I gotta head to work, but I will update more as I play with it more.

[Off-Topic / Misfit-Toys-and-Games Beware of this eBay seller]

This guy here  http://myworld.ebay.com/misfit-toys-and-games/&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2754 .  I have bought from his store, three times, and two of those times items were not as described.  First one was a sealed Magical Dino Tour for the TG16.  Item had been water damaged, box was in bad condition and the manual was water damaged.  Had  trouble getting a partial refund, but he finally agreed to it.  Of course I was punished by him not leaving feedback. Moving on, I bought a Sega setup couple weeks ago.  It was a model 1 unit, that was described as complete and working with games.  Once I got it, its bad news from the getgo.  

1.  The consoles were filthy, and I do mean filthy..  Not dusty, not a little dirty, but nasty filthy.  I had to take the Genny apart to clean it properly, and get all the dirt, grime, and animal hair out of it.  

2.  One of the CD games were missing from its case.  I guess he didnt bother to see if it was actually in there.  I dunno

3.  The final straw, the CD unit came with a TG16 power supply, so it will not work.  Since it was listed as working, Im not sure if he actually tested it and shipped the wrong power brick, or if he lied.  Not sure, but either way a big letdown for me.

I of course contacted him, no response, so I opened a case with eBay.  Oh, now we get a response in which he says he wishes I would have waited before opening a case..  hmm...  Anyway, moving forward.  I let him know of the issues, he said he would get the power brick out ASAP, then asks what power supply I need.  I tell him, and thats the last I heard.  All emails since then have been ignored or not responded to, so when eBay contacted me tonight asking how things were going, I went ahead and escalated the case.  Im posting this here, because he has a lot of gaming stuff, that many of us here would buy.  Just be wary of this seller, and expect things to be not as described.  I wouldnt suggest buying there though as he clearly does not inspect things before shipping, nor does he stand by his sales.  Its up to the bay what happens at this point.

I recently came across this Sega Nomad, and picked it up thinking someone here may want it.  I have no interest in it, buit since I have never seen one, I grabbed it just in case.  I cleaned it up, cleaned the two genny games that came with it, and it works just fine.  Sound and picture are good.  The system does not have the power supply, but does have the battery pack holder on the rear.  I fired it up with AA batteries.  If anyone wants this, I was thinking about $45 plus shipping.

Man, it has been a rough few weeks here.  Some of you know, I lost my Grandma due to injuries she got in a car accident.  She hung in there, but passed on last Tuesday, September the 11th.  So, its been a rough/emotional week for all of us...  But..  the light has appeared.  Jimilee and I discovered today, that we will be parents.    I cannot describe how uplifting this is for us, and will be for our family.   

Anyway, it may seem goofy, but I am soooo damn excited, and I wanted to share!  We haven't told our family yet, so please anyone, if you are Facebook friends with me, dont mention it on there just yet.  We want to surprise them all at once.  I just wish my Grandma could be here to witness one more great grandchild!!

Well, thanks to a trade I did with BlueBMW I am a proud owner of a refurbished CD unit.  Hooked it up yesterday and it works great.  I love it!  Right now I only have the original system card but I have a 3.0 coming from soop and a chopsado coming from  roflmao to hold me over till I get the Turbo region modded.  Its cool to finally own the CD setup!  Its bulky but man its sweet Wellness.

[Buy/Sell/Trade / FT: Cordless pc engine controller]

I bought a set of cordless controllers with receiver from a forum member, and it came with 3 controllers.  I do not need 3 of them, so I would like to offer it up for trade only.  My wishlist is in my signature, so if you are interested, check out the wishlist and PM me.  The controller appears to be in new condition and unused.  I removed it from the box for clear pics.  Pics below.     The games I want from my wishlist do not have to be with box, as I do not collect boxes.  I just want complete games, meaning game/manual/jewel case if the game came with one.
