On the off chance you are lurking here:

Per your message sent to me on Sega 16:
Quote from: stellarolaHey Michael,

My name is Ben and you recently bought some games of mine that my wife listed on her ebay account, 'aquamango17'. She just recently started selling on eBay and it appears you left two negs and one neutral. She's pretty upset to say the least. What exactly happened?

Thanks,

Ben
1. It is not proper to message my friends on other forums in order to reach me. If you have an issue with me over an ebay purchase, you fucking message me directly via ebay, where the transaction took place, or via fucking email. You don't contact my personal friends via email, forum, phone, etc, nor try to reach me on gaming forums I hardly ever log in to, let alone any gaming forum at all.

2. Your wife was an ebay noob who I guess thought she was going to be able to over charge on shipping for multiple items.

3. The items did not arrive as described, which was the main problem. "Confirmed tested 100%" means shit works on first try, and works every time. The games arrived and required excessive cleaning before they would work. Also, they arrive in good condition. They don't arrive with cracks in the back of the casing, or with peeling labels (which was an issue with Batman and Thunderforce II).

Per my pm to you on Sega 16:

QuoteMy friend Will stopped by to do some platooning with me this morning on World of Tanks and do some forum lurking and showed me you messaged him on the Neo forums about a purchase I made on ebay.....

Concerning the purchase from your wife, per the tone of her reply, she was evidently slightly irked I asked for a combined rate for winning multiple items. Per the original invoice sent to me, no way in hell would I pay $8.42 to have three Mega Drive carts shipped to me via First Class Mail in a plain bubble mailer, so yeah, I am going to ask for a fair rate. She did charge a fair rate on a revised invoice, but the fact she was irked I asked for one was an issue, let alone the fact I even had to actually ask to begin with.

And the items did not arrive as described, which was the major issue. Getting the carts to work was problematic, especially in the case of Batman and Street Smart. They required excessive cleaning. Street Smart had a crack in the back of the cart also. The main artwork/title labels were also peeling in the back of Batman and Thunderforce. This was not listed in the auction details.

Also, just as a personal note, I had made it a point to mention out the excessive shipping she was charging on her Ys III MD cart, mainly because I wanted to bid but the shipping was listed as too high. That was the main reason why I did not bid on it. Ebay does not care for people trying to skirt seller fees by overcharging on shipping. I checked back to see if she corrected the amount when she relisted, and she did not. TBH, after years of being on ebay, I am tired of seeing new people sign up and deliver shit not as described, or try to profit off of shipping cost. The fact that this shit was pointed out to her and she decided to continue on with the rip off'ish like shipping charge shit told me all I needed to know about the character of the seller

On this particular issue though, the actual purchase, the items I purchased that did not arrive as described, honestly I did not care to waste the energy pursuing a ebay dispute over the damaged cart or bicker over the whole AS-IS mess if she decided to fight a dispute, along with dealing with a return over  afew bucks. The refund amount would not be worth the hassle, and the auctions were listed in bold as "AS-IS", which I guess was a warning sign that things may not actually be as described. My bad for ignoring the warning signs. At any rate, I left my feedback and moved on. I prefer to pick my battles, and this one was not worth $5.

If your wife does not understand ebay seller policies, then please direct her to this link:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-practices.html

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html

Pretty much all I have to say on the matter. Your wife got the feedback that fit the situation, and be thankful I don't care to fucking call ebay trust and safety today and inform them that she was having you contact my friend Will over her ebay issues. I am pretty sure that would earn her an instant ban on her account. You want to reach me about an ebay purchase, you do it directly via ebay message system, or the email linked to the payment. You don't contact my personal friends on gaming forums about purchases that do not concern them, nor drop pm's to me on forums I am hardly on.

Was thinking of maybe replacing the US titles with their PCE counterparts. The two needing English are ones that if I really had to, I could simply play on my flash card if need be. I'd be more interested in trading then selling them. But I might be willing to accept some cash offers, though to be honest if I was going to simply sell them I'd be better off taking them to ebay since what I'd be replacing them with would have to be bought off there too, so at this point trades will interest me more.

Pretty much like in any other trade thread I do, if I dont know you personally, you will be expected to ship first. Also, tracking will be required. Thread will be locked,  since it probably wont need to be bumped. If you are interested just send me a pm.

List of games are as follows:
Blazing Lasers, in case, no manual
Alien Crush in case with manual (I think the label on the case is a Sparky label)
Keith Courage in case with manual
Neutopia in case with manual
R-Type complete in retail box with case and manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
Loose hucards:
Neutopia 2
New Adventure Island
Cadash
Bloody Wolf
Side Arms (card is kinda yellow)
----------------------------------------------------------------
case and manual only, no game included:
Bonks Adventure
Tricky Kick
Final Lap Twin (manual only)
----------------------------------------------------------------

Stuff I would be interested in taking for trade:

Working loose Duo, Duo-R, Supergrafx, or a fully working briefcase combo.

Game wise, PcEngine versions of the above titles and the following:

R-Type Complete CD
L-Dis
Tobias copy of Sapphire complete in the original case with manual that he originally issued with it
Forgotten Worlds
Exile (TG CD release)
Winds of Thunder
Gate of Thunder (TG or PCE release)
Flash Hiders
Martial Champion
Psycho Chaser
Soldier Blade
Monster Lair
Nexzr Special
Zero Wing
Dragon Saber
PC Denjin Punkic Cyborg
Psychic Storm
Spriggan
Rayzanber II and III
Last Alert/Red Alert
Ai Cho Aniki

Ok, not gonna lie, the Duo RX pad kinda blows in my opinion. However, I need a 6 button pad of some sort. If by chance someone is looking for a RX pad to complete their RX setup, I may have what you are looking for. The one I have is barely used. It feels very tight and in general is in nice condition. I would be willing to accept a Hori 6 button pad, or Ave Pad 6 in a even trade. I don't know how much these RX pads normally go for on here, but the cheapest I saw on ebay was in Japan for $69.99 shipped. Can send pics if needed. Drop me a PM if interested.

Just a fair warning. A couple of years back I had did some slight clean up on a Duo-R HercTnT had purchased from him. It had video issues after arriving from Doujin that someone had attempted to fix for Herc, but was unable to get everything resolved completely. When Tim sent the system to me I noticed the system would power up to a grey, purple, or blue blank screen. It was maybe 1 out of every 9 power ons. It did not matter if a hucard was inserted or not. I opted to not tinker too much at the time, as the main issue for Herc at the time was the video issues, which were resolved.

So fast forward to now, the system arrives as I planned to buy it off Herc, either to fix up more or use as parts, and the blank screen shit had gotten worse, happening half the time you power on. In addition to that, randomly the system would boot to a black screen with blocky gibberish that looked like text sorta that would change back and forth.

/FatLeeAdama/vlcsnap-2016-01-20-18h09m27s169_zps8vfwk18b.png

I suspected it was the region mod pcb causing the problem. Upon closer inspection I could smell the thing had that "electronics burning" smell going on. I ended up snipping all the wires being fed to it, powered back on multiple times and found the blank screen and gibberish issue went away. The cd-rom system start up screen booted up fine now.

Now here is the dilemma. That black gunk Doujin pours over everything. Well, I can say that in this case I was able to remove it all. It was a slow and painful process involving snips and a razor. So what treasures did I find under all this shit? What forbidden secrets did I uncover for all the world to know?

Well, 4 damaged traces. The guy had carved, knicked and scratched them in multiple spots by mistake I guess. Two were looking very iffy because the scratching was very deep. After tracing  where everything led to I did some patch work, and covered the exposed traces with some acrylic coat, reconnected all the pins to their proper ends and got the system working fine again.

Those with Doujindance systems need to be very mindful that if you get similar symptoms as stated above to be ready to send the system out for repair. Odds are good someone can just swap out region pcbs with the solid Obey one by just reusing all the wires already in place, granted all the wires are soldered in place fine and nothing is shorted.

But with me I wanted to know wtf exactly he did wrong, and I did not like what I saw, so just a fair warning. To anyone having to repair his botched shit, per the above, rest assured you can remove the black rubber gunk. Just be prepared to blow 4-5 hours of your time doing it.

Off-Topic / Oh pdevoir2020.... :\
11/16/2015, 05:19 PM
I love how ebay sellers abuse funny angles and use blurry out of focus pics to make disc look like they are in great condition.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131639193813?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

In actuality:

IMG

And yes, somewhere between their taking the pic and packing it up to ship off to me, they placed a giant greasy finger print on the disc. Also, disc has a few top scratches, and is failing surface scan checks. GG pdevoir2020, gg.

I have done 4 orders with this guy. The first two were not great, but not terrible. Neither disc arrived as described. Neither were top scratched though, and the second was worlds better then the first, so I just buffed them out with my buffer and left it at that. Given there isnt as many US sellers with a steady PCE game supply of anything more then RPG titles, figured I'd just give this guy another go later on. His feedback is fairly solid, so figured, maybe just flukes. Did my 3rd order of a couple Famicom games. They arrived exactly as described.

So 4th order is placed, and botched. Whats funny though is that right after he dropped the items off with USPS, he contacts me saying he sent me the wrong copy of one of the games. He sent me his worst copy instead. The one he uses to test his Duo repairs out with he said. So yeah, not cool with this shit. While I can appreciate the notice of the mistake as it were, it seemed all too convenient timing wise. He did offer a $4 refund if Id keep the worse condition copy.

He also offered to let me pay him again for the same game, as a retainer, and he would send the copy I originally purchased, then refund me the retainer when the wrong item arrived back. In other words, a temp loan. He insist on calling it a separate transaction lol. Not really cool with getting the wrong item, and not cool with paying out more money, even as a temp loan to get the item I originally purchased, so I opted to do a refund when the games arrive since trust was broken.

So the games arrive today. Neither is as described. The Valis 1 was listed in "A/Very Good" condition. Top of disc and its case and all was fine. Botton had heavy swirl marks from a shitty cd buffer. I am keeping it since I can get that out with my own buffer using the 2nd process. The other game though, the one he sent me the wrong copy of is Last Alert. This wrong copy was supposed to be his "B/Good" condition copy he had pulled his ebay listing off when he realized his mistake...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Alert-PC-Engine-Japanese-Import-PCE-Super-CD-Japan-TurboDuo-US-Seller-B-Good-/131618350218?nma=true&si=Jmz3nioPHx9irZLNB81FEhBjOXE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Notice in the details it does not list heavy bottom scratches or top scratches and nicks....

This copy that arrived, its not even in B/Good condition. Its heavily scratched on the bottom in certain spots. The top of the disc also has nicks and scratches. I imagine the guy will relist the game when it arrives, so just be sure to avoid any auction listing by him for this game if its listed in B/Good condition.

I already laid into this guy over this mess and told him he blew any chance of any future purchases from me, so not looking to send a gang bang his way or anything. Outside of just waiting for him to reply back to the dispute, I consider the matter dealt with and just wanted to give a fair warning.

So same seller now listed another copy for $500 BIN.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Akumajo-Dracula-X-Rondo-of-Blood-Deluxe-Edition-PC-Engine-Castlevania-Japan-/121778924630?hash=item1c5a96ec56

I'm going to assume that Tobias bled out a few of these with both disc included to certain resellers or something, unless this is a proxy seller of his. At any rate, it will prevent me from trading off or raffling that box set he sent me, both of which I considered doing if I ended up picking up a legit copy here soon, for fear of risking whomever getting it being tempted by a quick large cash grab.

Fact is if retards are willing to pay $700 for the small double disc set, I don't want to know what they will pay for the full on box set he sent me. It's really fucked up when a bootleg goes for the price of 3-5 legit copies of something. Seriously....

I need an extra one, for either system. Can be a two button TG or PCE pad, does not have to be a 3 button or 6 button one. Does not have to be mint either. Just need a loose working one with a cord that is not dog chewed or fucked up or anything. I can either buy one, or trade for one.

Stuff I currently have available for trade is here:

Quoth09 pointed this to me:
I was not aware people like Game-Tech were doing this with the game (Game-Tech admits to saccing 30 or so of them himself). What I had noticed was that over the past couple of years the game has been going up in price though, and I am wondering if the two are directly related.

It used to be you could easily get the game for under $20. Now you are having to pay $30 or more if you want the game. Seriously, was there just no other game that could have been used to do this? Batman Return of the Joker is a sweet fucking game. I could understand saccing like sports games or THQ games or something, but fucking Batman?

Going to use this thread to list items for trade I no longer want to play or need.  If I have not dealt with you personally, you will be expected to ship first. Your items will not be shipped out until your stuff arrives and checks out ok. How you decide to ship your items is up to you, first class, parcel select, etc, so long as you obtain and provide tracking when you ship (I recommend insuring your stuff also).

I will keep this thread locked unless I need to bump it, which will not be too often. If you are interested in anything listed, just send me a pm. Items I am interested in are the following: loose
Snes/SFC, Nes/Famicom, PCE, TG16, and Master System games. I do not need complete copies of anything, so loose carts are fine, and I will make exceptions for loose or incomplete PCE/TG CD releases also. If you have something you want to get rid of, just lmk what it is. If I want it I will let you know. Otherwise you can check my want list below for a reference on stuff I am looking for.

Items available currently are as follows:

JVC X'eye game system. Includes the original power supply and original controller, Sherlock Holmes and the Sega Classics disc (Classics disc is not in the best of condition). Also included is the Compton's disc and the Karaoke sampler. And in addition to the above, a brand new laser is included, still in its OEM box, and in addition to that, a spare laser assembly pulled from a early model Saturn. The assembly shares the same gear/motor type and laser as the X'eye, so it can be used for back up parts to keep this running for years down the road.

The X'eye has been s-video modded, and this is the release with the RGB AV multi out for 32X use. Some X'eye units did not have this for some reason. (I have run into two myself that had it missing, with the plastic area filled in.)

Gonbes GBS-8200. Lightly used. Has been fully tested and works great with my RGB modded Snes Mini via RGB, and the original Xbox via component video. Accepts RGB and component video in and converts/upscales it to SVGA at multiple resolutions. I can give you a cable to power this via a ATX Psu of your own choosing, but if you prefer I can trade you a legit power supply instead that provides 5 volt at 2.5a for something extra. This thing can be used with the Mini SLG for the classic scanline look.

Want more info on this item:

Drop me a pm with your address and I will get you a shipping quote and PP info. Odds are that shipping for you Bigus will be under 2 bucks,. For Venom and Arkhan, since they won a couple of games each it'll be a tad more.

I don't think I will play either of these two games. Has nothing to do with the Tobias thing, but rather that I already have Might and Magic 3 on PC, and Beyond Shadowgate, after watching videos it today, it is just too different from the original Shadowgate to make me want to mess with it. Both of these games are still sealed in their jewel case and include the gigantic case with the extras also. I would be willing to trade one or the other for a Tobias copy of Sapphire that is CIC. I am actually kind of needing that game again anyway to add to my Arcade Card titles.

I might also consider trading for Nes or Famicom, or maybe Master System games, but mainly just looking for a Tobias Sapphire at this point. I am not going to leave this thread active. Too much drama as of late and I don't have the time for it, so locking this after I start it. If you think you might have what I want, drop me a PM. If I don't know you well/personally, then you will be expected to ship first, so keep that in mind.

/fire-7_zpskzod3lfj.png

This thread/raffle is dedicated to the two manliest men I know, cjameslv, and Mr. Karate.

James knows what it takes to be a real man on these forums, and he is clearly imbued with the mainly spirit of Mr.Karate, so I am going to raffle the most manly game I can think of for the PCE, Art of Fighting, in their honor. You got kids? Fuck those kids, go be a man and make yours and your friends wants a priority first. The kids needs dont matter. You're the boss of this damn show, and they need to learn their role and play second fiddle.

Be a fucking man. You know you're a real man when you grow tired of that responsibility shit thats always dragging you down. Tell those kids "gotta split Slick, and midgits aint allowed to tag along", and ditch those kids and go travel half way around the country to go charge those JO crystals with your jack off buds over a few beers, then get on a forum and lecture other guys about how they are not real men like you, because you live large, play hard, drink hard, and jack off hard.

Being a real man means you're that kinda guy that when christmas time comes around, you sit those little brats on your lap and ask them what they want and act really interested in what they are saying. Then when they finish, toss them on the floor and tell them to fuck off because you're a fucking man, and you gotta get your pals and you some shit first, not buy some pesky kids stuff. Same deal with this one too, get on a forum and lecture other guys about how they are not real men like you.

You're the kinda guy that knows your special JO buds xmas needs are way more important then your kids, and you're not afraid to let others know it. If your buds or forum mates try to get out of spending at xmas due to kids needs or shit like medical expenses, you fucking let'em have it every time, because thats what real men fucking do.

Also, real men don't fucking hold more then a couple raffles. They enter them all they want, but they don't hold them. Its like a secret real man rule. Real men are not required to give back, except to their buds at xmas time. The rest of the year they cant be bothered with trivial things like generosity. That shit drags them down.

Ask James, he fucking knows about this shit because he is a real man. James doesnt make lame excuses to his buds about having priorities like kids with needs, or let major illnesses like cancer get in the way of spending cash and lavishing his JO buds with manly gifts, or waste time holding more then a couple token raffles a year. He gets it mutha fuckin done his way, the James way.

Or fuck it, be like Mr. Karate and go do your own thing with your goblin dick nose mask and secret dojo, lying in wait to ambush your son and his token Italian millionaire friend when they arrive to confront you about their abandonment issues. Be a man, charge up your JO spirit meter and beat the living hell out of that ungrateful little fuck with a SUPER DEATH BLOW for showing up on your door step uninvited, trying to drag you and your cool factor down 10 notches.

Just dont make the mistake of coming back later in a sequel story line though making excuses, blaming others (Geese Howard etc) for why you dropped out of sight and avoided paying child support for like 10 years, because real men do what they want, whether it be hanging out in moody karate dojos or charging their JO spirit meters with their buds when they want too. They dont make excuses for theirselves. THEY JUST DO IT!

All joking aside, I have a spare copy of this I want to raffle, so same raffle rules apply, including Nightwolve donations extra entry stuff, 500 post count (exceptions may be made), and winner pays shipping. The only other requirements to enter this raffle is that your entry has to contain some witty arrogant ass post on what makes a man a REAL MAN, like "REAL MEN dont do fucking dishes" etc. You get the idea. You can also post quotes or manly pictures from manly men like Steven Seagal or Vladimir Putin for your entry.

General Gaming / Nes to Famicom adapters?
08/04/2015, 03:45 PM
Ok, am I missing something, or just looking in the wrong place? It seems like years back you could buy these dirt cheap, like under $10, to use Nes carts on like the Yobo Famiclones. I was wanting to get one to use on my Famicom so I could start buying certain Nes titles, but any of the ones I am seeing are like $30+. Is this the normal price for these things now? I did spot one seller who had them as straight pcbs with a cart connector, but I'd be weary of that on the off chance it tips forward or something. With the Famicom gamepad cords being so short that just seems like something likely to happen.
#18
I'm not the greatest at keeping track of things, so to help me make sure everyone that donates to Nightwolve gets their extra entries, I ask they you post here that you donated, how much, and what raffles you want the extra entries to go towards. You can get up to 5 entries max. I have 5 raffles going on currently. You cant use like all 5 on one raffle though, because that would unfairly stack the odds, so its one extra entry per raffle. So that means you do something like donate 15 bucks to Nightwolve, you get 3 extra entries you can put towards 3 raffles you want to enter.

Basically each extra raffle entry is 5 a pop (the first one though you can get for $3-5, because I want people even on tight budgets to have a extra chance if possible). So look at it like this:
$3-5 gets you one extra entry.
$10 gets you two extra.
$15 gets you three extra.
$20 gets you four extra.
$25 gets you five max. No more then 5 is allowed.

I am going to use an honor system and take you at your word that when you say you donated that you did, so you don't have to PM me pics of paypal payments sent to Nightwolve. If I ask Nick I am sure he will remember who donated to him and who didn't, and I think I have a good enough rep here that you know that if you lie I will destroy you, bring you back from oblivion, and destroy you again for shits and giggles.

So without further ado, please post here if you donated, if so, how much, and what raffles you want the extra entries to go towards. Thanks :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bigus donated $20, extra entries will be applied to Force Gear, Sylphia, Godzilla, and Renny Blaster.
Punch donated $5, extra entry to Godzilla.
Black Tiger donated $20, picked Force Gear and Godzilla. You need to pick two more raffles you want the 2 extra entries to go towards.

I posted about this copy before. Everything about the game works great, other then on stage 6 there is some pixel issues in the background. Toshi have me a large partial refund on this copy even though I never asked for one, because he is an awesome seller, one of my absolute favorites, so this raffle is in his honor.

Per Comcast, they are removing their free web hosting feature soon. Due to that the site will be removed in Oct. on the 8th, for good. I have not done anything to it or added any new content to it in a long time, and do not plan to move it to another hosting service, so not a concern. Mainly this is just a notice for anyone who wishes to save any content off of it before it goes. This includes pics, reviews, just whatever. I believe I saved James/Sinistrons reviews and re-posted them here already on a thread prior.

Any titles worth getting that are not on Nes, or are drastically better then the Nes counterparts? I'm new to the Famicom scene, so figured I'd ask.

The other day I saw a person wearing a red t shirt. On it was the statement "beautiful work done by passionate people". The first things that popped into my mind after reading this was "Vietnam" and "Chernobyl".

I know there are slightly different revisions of the system and all, but what I have read is that the mod is essentially the same. But the guides I keep coming across vary in methods and resistor values and what not. Is there any really solid well put together guides out there for this with a correct parts list?
#28
Bought from Toshi/Jump to Japan. Oddly enough it only seems to happen on stage 6, the womb stage. Black and white pixel squares. Pins have been cleaned and the game has been tested on both my systems. The issue is there on both systems. Just wtf about this. 2nd Hu-card I have come across with corrupt graphics in a few months now. Might be a good time for people to start spot checking their more valuable hu-cards, and doing more then just testing the first stage. Especially if they are considering selling them at some point.

Ok, here is the deal. I don't need this thing. Between the cap card in my main pc, my iScan units, and if I get extremely desperate, my Toshiba LCD, I am fine on Pal support. My Toshiba will display Pal in color, it just crops some of the image and stretches it some, not great quality. My iScan on my HP monitor, and cap card on my main pc handles Pal much better then my Toshiba does. But honestly I only have one thing that uses Pal, and I don't really play it, so I just don't need this at all.

This unit was sold under the Emerson badge also at about $300 retail when released, but with slightly different power features. The Emerson one lacked a fuse holder and a switch to swap between North American and European current, and used an external 15 volt power brick. This one has the power supply built in, the NA/EU 110/220 power switch, and a easy access fuse holder, so this one is considered superior to the Emerson rebadge, and retailed for a tad more when you could find it.

This box can convert Pal/SECAM to NTSC or convert NTSC to PAL. There are switches on the back to adjust it the way you want. Internally this thing is driven mainly by chips made by Sony. Its not like those tiny laggy digital boxes with no name chips.

The thing is with this unit it does not do any comb filtering. It is made simply to convert the composite video signal, not clean it up. If your TV has a shit comb filter this will not help your picture noise situation. Any picture clean up with still depend on your tv's DNR features/settings.

I cant locate the info anymore, but years back when I got this I had come across a post of someone modding this to accept and output s-video also. I don't recall how extensive the mod was though, or what all parts were required. This was quite a few years back.

Visually if you like older entertainment center type equipment, the large metal box stuff with wood panels on the side and gold colored feet, this is something you would probably dig. It's large, metal with side panels and gold feet, heavy, and looks nice on a shelf.

Anyway, basic specs are:

Built-in switchable power supply for both 110V and 220V AC systems
Converts any NTSC, PAL B/D/G/I or SECAM video inputs to NTSC or PAL B/D/G/I video outputs
Professional, full digital processing
Line conversion 525 to 625 lines
Built-in time base correction function for signal synchronization

I took pics so you could see the unit and also see it running. As you can see it displays Pal stuff at the correct 4:3 aspect ratio on my LCD. No cropping issue in the image like what would happen if I just let my Toshiba handle the conversion.

So anyway, if anyone would be interested in it, I would be willing to do a trade or maybe sell the thing. Trade wise just typical stuff, Nes, Snes/SFC, TG/PCE. Money wise I am not sure on a price. If someone was really interested they could make a cash offer and let me think it over.

Any interest in this thing before I pack it away to never be seen or heard from again?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181791976230?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649

Would be willing to trade it for PCE, TG, Snes, or SFC stuff, etc. Evidently this thing can play converted roms and what not. Its one of the older systems that uses better hardware evidently. I believe the thing is running in Pal 60, though don't quote me on that.

Off-Topic / Issues with Akiba Games

http://akiba-games.com

I decided to give these guys a go. Honestly I am not pleased at all with them. All 4 items I purchased arrived filthy. I purchased loose cards of Salamander, TwinBee, Ordyne, and an Arcade Card Duo. The Arcade Card, in addition to a lot of standard filth, was covered with some sticky film and gunky stuff, and stuck in a old filthy hucard sleeve.

The other 3 games were equally filthy, though less sticky. Ordyne had a few deep scratches in the back of the card also. Salamander was DOA. Powering up the game will get you solid audio, but garbles graphics. No amount of cleaning helps the situation. TwinBee was the only item that really came as described, outside of being dirty.

The seller also raped me on shipping cost. I paid €17.30 EUR (tad over $19.00 ) for shipping, which amounts to about 2314 yen. The seller only spent about 1200 yen to actually ship the package. The only positive to this was the packing job was good enough.

Concerning the Salamander situation, the seller is claiming it was fine when shipped, and are not owning up to it, so I opened a dispute with ebay. Anyway, figured I would put this out there just in case anyone was curious how bad this seller can be when things go wrong.

EDIT: video link showing Salamander not working.

Got these in a trade with some other stuff. Have Cycho Rider also. Don't want them or need them as I am not a big fan of these games anyway, original or otherwise. It's not a box set though, just the games in their individual cases they were issued with along with the spine cards. Not selling these, this is a trade only thread. Disc are in pretty good condition, some light scratches, nothing that affects play.

If anyone is interested, though highly doubtful given who made them, lmk. Buyer as it were, ships first and gets tracking info unless I know you personally (i.e. I chat with you often on FB, yahoo, etc). Items arrive and check out fine, then I ship out mine the next day via First Class Mail or Priority Mail, depending on the size of the package. My business rep as it were speaks for itself. People here can vouch for me, and I have my 100 percent positive FB rating on ebay to fall back on.

Am looking for a loose Arcade Card Duo or the following (hu-cards can be loose, cd games do not need to be complete either, but need to be in decent condition):

Art of Fighting
World Heroes 2
R-Type
Parodius
Gradius 1 or 2
Street Fighter 2'
Shinobi
Outrun
Altered Beast CD with 1.0 card
Raiden or Super Raiden
Chase HQ JP
S.C.I.
New Zealand Story
Bloody Wolf
Splatterhouse JP
Volfied
Ninja Warriors
Legendary Axe
Exile US or JP
Vasteel US or JP
Valis 1 or 2
Last Alert US or JP
Fighting Street
Buster Bros. US or JP
PCE gamepad, 2 button, 3 button, or 6 button, does not matter.

Interested in other stuff also, so hit me up with what you have if it is not listed here and you want to get rid of it.

Duo here I got off Herc had been serviced prior by TheSteve, tant caps, potentiometer adjustment possibly, etc. I got the earphone jack working again, spindle raised to the proper level, and the system modded for svideo out. Issue is that the thing will read newer disc, with a kinda noisy laser, but is getting tripped up on an original, Valis 4. It cant load the disc at all.

The pot on the laser itself was never adjusted it seems, still has the waxy seal in place. This is leading me to believe the potentiometers on the board were possibly adjusted instead. I need clear large pics of the original settings though as a comparison to make sure before I go screwing with the pot on the laser itself. This way I can roll back to original settings if need be and just adjust the laser itself from there.

Anyone have any pics they can share? I want to try and get the issue resolved in the next couple of days so I can do some gaming. :)

Thanks in advance.

Buy/Sell/Trade / PCE Neutopia loose Raffle
04/17/2015, 07:49 PM
Up for nabs is a loose PCE copy of Neutopia. Winner pays shipping. Will be shipped with tracking via First Class mail if winner is in the US. If you're in Canada you can enter too, just that shipping cost will be higher for you and all, not sure if it would balance out compared to the games value.

I will end this in about 4 weeks. Should give everyone who wants to enter enough time to do so.

Looking for the following, whichever is the cheapest version region wise, and would prefer them loose:
Cadash
Chase HQ
Space Harrier
Afterburner
Ninja Spirit
Bloody Wolf
Splatterhouse
Volfied
Ninja Warriors
Legendary Axe
Street Fighter 2'

Can pay via paypal. Would prefer a US seller to save on shiping cost.

I have a PCE Duo here, the cd drive motor seems to have a issue where the spindle is laying too low. Disc would grind against the shield around the laser if I tried to use any. Can the height be adjusted? I know you can do it on other's like the Saturn and X'eye, but this one seems different somewhat in how its constructed. Any tips?

EDIT: NM, got it off. Just need to adjust it now.
#43
Basically a 280 page strategy guide that covers the more popular 3DO titles. In addition to game tips and what not, they tend to do some extra info about the games background in a lot of the entries. Winner covers shipping. Can do media mail to keep the cost down as far as shipping in the USA goes. The books condition is fair. It has a lot of wear, but is intact.

So anyway, selling this for HercTnT. He ended up purchasing it awhile back, then ended up not needing it, as he is trying to clear out a lot of stuff to make space. Usually any time he needs to sell something I let him send it to me since I have more experience with ebay and other forums, and with the case of this thing, the ability to test Pal related items out easier. The Sb-2000 is here with me, and he needs it sold sooner rather then later. You can view pics on the auction link, but he is willing to accept a best offer outside of ebay, so if you want to make one, just drop me a pm and I will discuss it over with him.

As an acting proxy, payment will be sent to me, and I will be shipping the system to the buyer. It will be shipped fully insured, and the funds will be sat on until the buyer confirms receipt of the system and test it out to make sure it arrived ok. Once that happens, as per usually the case when I do this for Herc, I forward over the cash to him and consider the transaction finalized.

Given past experience, would prefer to sell only to those with an established rep of some sort here. Otherwise I would prefer to stick with handling the sale through ebay.

Keep in mind, this is a Pal based system that can play normal Japanese Famicom games, so you'd need a Kramer or other decent upscaler or Pal to NTSC converter to convert the video signal to be fully playable with no lag. I have fully tested it out myself on a Kramer VP-417, my Toshiba LCD, and also my capture card and found no issues. The diskette drive was also tested multiple times to make sure it could read diskettes fine. I have pics in the auction showing it is fully working and passing all diagnostics test. Please read over the auction fully.

Not sure if anyone has bothered to label these yet to make modding the TG-16 deck easier. If they have, then feel free to ignore this. If not, then here you go. This will allow you to avoid snipping and lifting pins on the system and just solder directly to solder joints when using the Obey chip. All this will involve is cutting traces instead. Gametech had posted something about cutting the traces in one of his videos, but he never actually labeled/stated which ones led to which joints.

Kinda felt this info should be shared, so I labeled them in a couple of pics. It's up to you to decide where to cut the traces, but in the pics you can see where I did mine. Thanks to HercTnT for providing the system to work on. Hopefully this is clear enough to understand. If not, I'm old and tired, so no fucks given.

General Gaming / Hawken update...

Not sure if anyone here would care, but Hawkens FB page has come back to life. I know that the game kinda went into a limbo there and all but evidently its coming back up, per what their FB page is stating.

I did Alpha and Beta testing for this game. It was pretty bad ass, but something happened along the way and the updates and content stopped coming. For those of you who don't know what it is, and are curious, you can view some gameplay here:

boldvideogames
http://www.ebay.com/usr/boldvideogames

Late last year I purchased a few SFC games. One games battery was dead and starting to leak. The seller did not list it as such. Informed the seller, they offered a refund but I turned it down. It was a minor problem that was easily fixed, and just suggested they test the carts better before listing them to avoid future problems. I left them 100 percent positive feedback for every item. Fast forward to today, went to place a purchase with them and found they had blocked my account. Strange reaction all things considered, as the messages back and fourth were civil, and they got good fb from me. Anyway, just consider it a warning. They don't seem to handle issues they create in a very positive manner I guess. Not very good for repeat business.

Some fun in my AMX 13 75 light tank. This tank has a steep learning curve, so the expected damage to be considered "good" with it is around 600 damage per match or so, with only a kill every other match or so, which is pretty low. Most people play it like a mindless suiscout. It's actually a light combat tank that can passive scout when need be. The tank is not expected to survive long or contribute much due to the way it functions though. I say fuck expectations. Lets rock!
My personal performance rating for this tank:

http://www.vbaddict.net/wn8/fatleeadama-na-26dc4ea114ca90512250eb7c184740f4/france-4/amx-13-75-20

In the ratings the winrate caries very little value because they take into account that 14 other players on your team can tend to fuck that up for you. The main thing that matters is damage and kills. I do enough to get a unicum rating for the tank, which means a "pro player" type rating.

Modded my Snes Mini for sync and RGB output. I did individual jacks for each signal, because I planned to make a custom cable when the GBS arrives. Anyway, not finding much info out on the net about this, so I have been posting around trying to find out if this will work fine as is with the GBS, or if I need to do anything extra. This is the mod I did for the RGB and Sync output:

IMG

I have read that the GBS has issues sometimes with sync signals from different game systems, so was wondering if anyone knew if this would work fine, or if I will have to do anything extra to the sync output of the Snes Mini in order to get it working. Anyone know?
