Quote from: Gentlegamer on 01/18/2015, 07:13 PMIs the LT a Game Boy Advance SP for PC Engine?
Pretty much, except that it doesn't have a built-in rechargeable battery back and does run on regular batteries. It does however work with an IFU the same way regular core units do.

The screen was amazing for the time.
I have an LT but I don't recall there being a battery compartment since I was always envious of people that made rechargeable battery packs for theirs to play on the go while I was stuck playing mine near an electrical outlet.

Great game and raffle! I already own it so don't include me but kudos to you kind sir.

Thanks for sharing! I love the Bubble Bobble/Parasol Stars franchise.

I was one of the lucky guys to have an additional Secret Santa. Got a PC Engine magazine, Bazzy Pencil Case and greeting card from the United Kingdom. Thanks Superplay!

IMG

My Secret Santa decorated the shipping box with this cool Obey artwork (sorry for the fuzzy picture).

IMG

Santa (aka Medic_Wheat) gave me Skweek, Stratego, and a bunch of Christmas candy.

IMG

Also got these 2 pieces of Anime but I don't have a Blu-Ray player so I will be re-gifting the one on the left in the form of a raffle.

I'd like to thank my Santas (Superplay and Medic_Wheat) and Necromancer for hosting/organizing this event.  =D>

Mmm, look at the delicious RPGs Santa brought me.

Valkyrie Profile and Brave Story were even sealed.  Thanks, Hoobs!

Interesting to see how others handle this, each year, though!
Uh, what?
What Hoobs found sealed PSP games?  I am having a hell of a time just finding them complete.

Why do I feel Amazon is the answer? Lol
My local "Video Game Castle" had a huge display case of PSP games. I didn't even realize they were sealed until I was packing them into the shipping box.

You didn't have the PCE version of Ninja Gaiden?

I picked it up yesterday but haven't had a chance to play yet. Also got the gamecube controller for it but the adapters weren't available :( I love the Villager in the 3DS version. Do you know if he is available on this one too?

Quote from: jeffhlewis on 11/17/2014, 09:33 PMJust sold the whole shebang on eBay for about $500 total, which honestly is probably about how much I spent on the game as a kid in total.

I had no clue Dual Lands were worth so much. Holy crap. I remember as a kid we used to get PISSED when our rare card in a booster was a dual land, which in hindsight is hilarious. We all wanted that Lord of the Pit, baby!
I remember when dual lands were worth $5 and we would trade our extras for a BK meal. lol

This would be amazing but I'm not sure how much interest there would be and if it would be enough to motivate sparky.  But, hey, who knows?  Post here if you would be interested in a Coryoon manual re-print
I recently picked up the Coryoon Chu card. Naturally, I would be interested in having a manual reprint to go with it.

Quote from: SuperPlay on 10/18/2014, 03:24 PMOne game that I have never completed that I must get back to is Super Star Soldier.  If I remember correctly I when this was in the play pile I could shoot myself through to the later levels, however I hit the wall of no progression!

Another one that springs to mind is Neutopia 2.  Managed to get to the last section of the game and for some reason stopped playing.  Maybe work just got in the way of fun!

Also there is still Tatsujin in the same pile as well ;-)
I've gotten to the final boss in Neutopia 2 and haven't been able to beat him.

Quote from: guest on 10/10/2014, 04:57 PMI've got a lot of OBEY that's just too hard for me to beat (mainly shewties); there's too many to list.  There's also quite a few that haven't been given a fair chance yet, but I hope to get to 'em some day.

For PSP, most all of 'em have been cleared or not yet played.  The ones that I gave up on are few, namely Frantix, Bubble Bobble Evolution, and Dungeon Explorer (90+ hours in and maybe half way).
Can't remember if it was Bubble Bobble Evolution or the one for the Bubble Bobble for the Nintendo DS but they forgot to put the boss in one of the stages and you can't pass that stage.

Quote from: brianon on 09/15/2014, 06:26 PMFirst off...hi :)

Sorry to drag up an old thread (especially as this is my first post :) ) but my question is pretty relevant.

I've been searching for an adapter to allow my PC Engine pad to work on my TG16.

retrogamecave.com seem to be on vacation right now and that ebay cable is the opposite of what I need.

Anyone else have success finding this adapter/cable ?

Brian.
Just swap out the PC Engine for a TG-16 cable... There's 5 screws on the back of the controller and the cable swap doesn't require soldering.

Quote from: DragonmasterDan on 08/26/2014, 01:58 PMThere were a lot of new old stock copies floating around a few years ago for 50-60. It's not among the rarest turbografx games and is more common as a sealed game than a lot of others are.
I picked up one of these at that time along with some other members. I think one of them even had a video showing himself opening the sealed game.

Quote from: KGD on 07/30/2014, 09:23 AMThe new Commander sets being mono-colored is a bad idea. They could have reprinted the filter lands but most definitely won't at this point. Not in that product, that is!

I don't hate the new layout of M15, something which bugged other people. The change from old frame to new frame was shocking to me (post-Masques), but the M15 layout change is minor.

A set I'm skipping altogether.
I actually like the new card face but I've always disliked the change on artifacts. They were best when they looked brown.

The new layout is ugly.   The newest layout, is worse.

Wizards is going retarded.

Anyone play at M15 Game Day this weekend? I took 1st place at my local store with Naya Superfriends. I was surprised that the champion playmat didn't have Garruk on it. I think I'm gonna make the infinite turns shenanigans deck for next week's FNM.

Quote from: Bardoly on 07/14/2014, 06:07 PMI was only able to play in one 'flight' of the Prerelease.  I choose white and went 2-1 in three rounds - got totally mana-messed over in both games of my loss.

We had 40+ people in my 80-person flight choose black, and the store ran out...
I played in 5 flights...got 1st place in one of them and 2nd place in the other 4 flights. Chose Black in the first flight (pulled Liliana Vess). Red in the 2 Headed Giant flight (pulled Soul of Ravnica and Soul of Shandalar). Black again in the third flight (pulled Soul of Zendikar) took 1st place in this one with a Black/Green build that splashed Red for Burning Anger (so good!). Chose White for the 4th flight (pulled Nissa Worldwaker but couldn't play her since my card pool didn't support Green very well). Planned to play Green for the 5th flight but there weren't any left so I had a choice between Red or Blue so I went with Red again since Blue seemed very meh.

Yes, Mirror of Fate... I have almost every Castlevania game and I was looking forward to its release because Castlevania + 3DS seemed good. After playing it though, it couldn't hold my interest. It was simply inferior to the 2D platforms that we are all familiar with.

Quote from: Bardoly on 06/16/2014, 01:27 PMWell, for FNM last Friday, I wanted to play Standard, because Grand Prix Chicago is this coming weekend, and I've been planning to go, so I wanted to get some Standard games in.  Unfortunately, I had no time beforehand to play/practice, so I ripped through my Dimir deck and turned it into my own version of mono-black (think Liliana and Squelching Leeches).  I got hosed 2-0, so I dropped just in time to join the Journey/Born/Theros draft.  I took second place, and I feel that I would have taken first if I had been more up on the rules.  :(  (Basically Crystalline Nautilus is useless.  I had a Prognostic Sphinx, and I thought that Crystalline Nautilus would be safe to play on it, but alas, it was not.  :(  )  Oh well, I won a few packs, and I got a copy of the cool foil promo card - Dissolve.

Is anyone here planning to participate in Grand Prix Chicago?
I'm not near Chicago but I was thinking of attending Grand Prix Worcester. It is Modern format so I was going to play my own version of Birthing Pod.

Quote from: Bardoly on 06/05/2014, 08:15 PMSo, who is going to draft Conspiracy this weekend?

I'm still trying to figure out Lore Seeker.  It adds a pack to the draft.  I completely understand the mechanics, but the question is who pays for the extra pack?  Since this format is non sanctioned, and prizes will be difficult to assign, since any 2-3 players should be able to knock any other single player out of the game, figuring out how to pay for extra Lore Seeker packs and who pays for them is quite confusing to me.  It anyone has any ideas, please enlighten me.
I am hoping that they have a rules insert in the box to elaborate on stuff like that (haven't checked the Wizards site yet to see if there is an FAQ). We'll probably make up our own "house rules" when we draft at my buddy's house tomorrow but when I go to local stores on Saturday & Sunday, they will need to be ready for those questions.
