I'll post some pics when I get home from work later tonight. the color matches up perfect on most duo but some not quite so much do to the body color darkening over time.

So systems that still have good color will match up nicely.

I did notice that that back end of the cover that is nearest the center of the duo touches a little more than the originals when openeing and closing but it's really not that big of a deal.

The color match is something that I knew that would never be perfect simply because of the age of these systems.  I did try and get it as close as I could though.  Take a pick of the area you feel like it too close.  I can use that info to modify the model for the next batch.

Oh man, I coudl really do with one for my loose Duo but I fear the postage cos to the Uk will be far too much to make it worth doing. 

I can send it first class rather than priority mail and it would be much, much cheaper; it would just take longer to get there.  I'll get a price quote and send you a PM.

Just received two in the mail. They look great. Not quite as nice as the originals but definitely a pretty close match. I'm am pleased.

On another note:  I know that some people have made switch their TE over to a rechargeable pack.  I can make a custom battery door that will hold the battery rather than having to just shove it in and have is rattling around.

Wut? Two products in the same night? I now have replacement battery doors for the Turboexpress/PC Engine GT ready to ship!  They are duplicates of the stock door and fit exactly like it should. They are color matched as close as I could get it so they should look OK. They are $24.75 plus shipping ($5.25 in the US, more in other places).  I have five ready to go and can make as many as people will pay me for.

Could I have taken any longer to get this done? Man, I need to pick up the pace. Anyway I finally got off my ass and finished up the first batch of DUO card doors.  They are about as close fit and finish as I could possible hope and they should look better than the missing one that is currently on your DUO.  I have FIVE, count 'em, FIVE finished ones and five more that are being dyed as we speak? I can make as many as people want and if this first batch sells well I will stock them for the foreseeable future. How much are they? Welllllll, they are $19.75 plus shipping.  How much is shipping? This is the case basically everywhere. The Duo, the US CD add-on and Express in particular were not big sellers in terms of volume and weren't commonly found used and cheap in the wild in the first place. The best way to get them cheap was to find dead units some years ago and have them repaired or use the repair information found on this forum to fix them yourself.

At this point everyone is aware of how to fix them and lots of people who seemingly had no interest in the platform for the 20+ years systems and games were on the market suddenly became interested because resellers are making quite a profit flipping stuff. It's an unfortunate state of affairs but if you're looking for the US hardware besides the standard TurboGrafx 16 system you're probably going to have to go to the internet and pay internet prices for it.

I got lucky and found a local "retro game tech" that had no idea what he was doing with turbos and blew out all of his "broken" stuff dirt cheap.

One thing that I have noticed is that the earlier orange label games have a slightly different box than the later orange label games.  With that knowledge someone with all the orange label boxes could at least narrow it down a bit.

From the looks of it, probably not.  It looks like the latch for the hu card is on the opposite side.  I can make a different version that will fit the Super Grafx though.  It's easy to do that.
