MSI GTX 770 Lightning
32gb SSD (for booting/windows only)
1TB HDD for other installs.
LG Super Multi DVD drive
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Still needs a floppy drive, capture card, and a 2TB HDD just for video recording and editing but those will wait until next month.  Currently very happy with this rig, it runs anything beautifully, and thanks to the Asus mobo plus tiny SSD cold start to desktop is under 5 seconds.

Those SSD's are awesome. I have one at work, the boot times rock for sure.

I'm totally lost on the last few sets of chips.  What's the difference between the i3 and the i5 chipset in that category? wouldn't you get better performance video editing with the i5? assuming you are using software that can access the cpu efficiently.

Yes, it's for everything. It's going to go up to 10% in October 2015, too.

I'll have to resist going off on a full tangent, but the government needs it. Japan's debt level is the worst in the world, at over 200% of the country's GDP and over 20x its yearly tax revenue, plus the government has spent more than twice what it's brought in for several years in a row. Everybody knows that a currency crisis is coming, it's just a question of when.

The good news is, if the yen tanks, the cost of imports will plummet for US gamers.

And so, back to games.

I'd hate to see what will come of Japan, once the US is no longer able to protect it form its neighbors. Add to that a shrinking population and no real sustainable energy propositions, they are gonna go the way of the elfs!

Sales tax increased from 5% to 8% on April 1st.

However, it's technically a "consumption tax" and only applies to goods being consumed in Japan.

So anyone purchasing Japanese goods outside of Japan is supposed to be unaffected.

OUCH! is that for everything? food, clothing etc? Sucks to live in JP , damn.

No doubt we'll see some prices rise overall.

I have, mainly the action parts for now, and studying the pixel art. This game is SOOOOOOOOOO PRETTY, and the action scenes are solid.

The cut scenes are also phenomenal.

You can look at the history of Argentina and Venezuela, up to current day Venezuela; to get an idea as to how some things will go down, economically at least.

The best term to describe it is, Catabolic collapse. The slow dying off, no bang, no big rapture, no technological singularity; just the standard downwards collapse of yet another great civilization in the history of our species. A few million years from now, it will be the turn of the decedents of Raccoons and Ravens. We'll be the dinosaurs they dig up ;)

The Death Gate Cycle series by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis.

+1 Dare I say this, I like them better than the DragonLance books.

Mighty compelling.  Their Dragonlance stuff was what got me into reading the Fantasy genre back in middle school. I won one of their books at a bingo tournament held at my local library.

Don't get me wrong; I love the Dragonlance world. However, I think they weaved a WAY better story with Death Cycle.  Where as Dragonlace was straight up Tolkien like lore and quest. Which I may add, that's where The Wheel of Time seems to go at first, until it literally bitch slaps you into amazement. Battle scenes in those series are amazing!

+1 on the Dark Elf series as well.  I'd suggest the Icewind Dale trilogy, before reading the Dark Elf Trilogy.
