Turns out I had the bit to open the console up.

The fuse seems to be fine, passes the continuity test. I'm having hard time touching the pins for the 7805 as the leads to my meter are obscured by the large capacitors.

Here are some pictures. The power connector appears quite rusty. I'll check the pins on it next.

Any thing else looks suspect to your expert eyes? Oh and Siskan, I hope you don't mind me using your thread. I'm new to the world of the PC Engine and it looks like we both could use some help. I can start my own thread if necessary.

Not to hijack this thread. But I just picked up a Duo which is not turning on. The AC adaptor seems to be working, so I'll have to open this guy up.

I'll take the suggestions made in this thread in begin with the fuse and go from there.

Hi guys! I'm jugu. I'm on a few boards, shmups, neo-geo, sega16. I never owned a Turbo Grafx, a friend of mine did. He even had a Turbo Express, while I rocked my Atari Lynx. I was a Genesis guy, but I still remember the vivid colors of Legendary Axe. I'm just starting out in the world of PC-Engine.getting a PC-Engine. I love shmups, so think I'll be able to keep busy. I remember sending away for a video cassette where the Turbo Dup and various games were showcased. Remember seeing and hearing Lords of Thunder. I have 3 kids now that I hope I can pry away from Minecraft long enough to discover Bonk. I also like tinkering and I'm not afraid to recap a Duo myself. I plan on reading up on the various ArcadeDuo cards.
