Quote from: seieienbu on 05/03/2018, 11:34 PMOkay, that's a much better list of games than I was expecting.  I'm very happy that there's no Fatal Fury 1 (or other first games that nobody in their right mind wants to play) on there.  Yeah, it's missing a few of my favorites but overall it's a solid list of games.
So I'm the only one who genuinely likes Fatal Fury 1?

It's better in an MMC5 cartridge.

Sonic mania should have had a wii u port
#4
If I actually had a TG16, this would be fun to do.
#5
I beat the Sega CD version, it's quite good and is sufficiently challenging towards the end.
#6
I don't think NES Roger Rabbit was ever released in Japan.

#7
Or just go bare circuit boards.
#8
In theory it should, with the right system card, problem is the Super CD2 might not physically fit a TG16.
#9
Krikzz and Retrogate probably the vast majority of their yearly orders during the Black Friday sale, you may be waiting a long time yet.
#11
To be fair, All-Stars has the best version of SMB2 and SMB3.
#12
added a game gear cartridge bundle + junk system.

If anyone has a cheapo Game Gear with a good stock LCD screen, I'd rather have that than sell my carts.
#13
A very nice person traded me a PS1 Gameshark cartridge, which I loaded Unirom on and now I can run backups on my unmodded SCPH-1001 console. I am very happy. Time for some Clock Tower, Silent Hill and Doom me thinks.  :D

Going by google results, eShop card support was a European innovation. The North American version still only supports original Wii Points Cards, oh well. I'll just break down and use a credit card.
#15
Out of curiosity I checked Google about eShop cards on the Wii Shop Channel, I see mostly UK sources confirming that they do work. Are you in Europe? USA? I'm in Canada and my Wii still says "Redeem Wii Points Card" at the Add Wii Points screen.
#16
Wait, really? Positive?? If that's true I'm totally grabbing an eShop card.
#17
I wish those Wii points cards were still available, I'd rather not use a credit card.

I didn't buy much from the Wii Shop Channel over the years, but it certainly helped set a good standard for old software re-releases. There's still a great selection of classics on the Wii VC, plus some nice exclusives in the WiiWare section.

I'd love to see the article on Star Fox 2 in that issue.

I already have a fully recapped Duo along with an Everdrive and a stack of CD-Rs. If I didn't have those, I might have gone with the Super SD.
#20
My PCE Duo plays almost nothing but CD-Rs and it still works just fine.
#22
added some playstation stuff

Bugs like this make me happy to still be using obsolete versions of Mac OS X. Yeah, I said Mac OS X, not this "macOS" nonsense.

Bought a vintage Thinkpad laptop off eBay, didn't realize the screen was busted, no returns. It lacked a CD drive but still had a hard drive and even a battery. I made the best of things by surgically removing the LCD case and putting Windows 95c on the hard drive with some software, it's quite a decent keyboard computer now. Until I can one day find a compatible CD drive, a USB one works ok with the unofficial USB stack driver for Windows 95.
#25
Everdrive and CD-Rs, Everdrive and CD-Rs, Everdrive and CD-Rs...
#26
SD2SNES, Mega Everdrive X5, Turbo Everdrive, EDN8 FC/NES and anything else recently made are good and won't fry anything.
#27
Is there a console that makes you happy?

Quote from: guest on 11/23/2017, 07:50 PMIf you need friends to enjoy a system, it's a failure.  Kind of like your posts.
lol you have no friends

at least I'm not still bitter about a console that launched 21 years ago.
#29
I can't justify spending $150 USD on a SD2SNES and my flash cart needs are pretty much met currently. I think I'll be skipping the Krikzz Black Friday bandwagon this year.
#30
So the real problem is you have no friends?
#31
added some Neo Geo AES games and console
#32
You sound like a really sad person.

The N64 is the fun machine.

Let it bring some fun back into your bitter and hardened corpse of a life.

My story with the Wonderswan goes like this:

Buys FF2-themed WonderSwan Color and a plain B&W system with a random assortment of games, some RPGs, some anime games, Rockman & Forte, GunPey... Sold it all out of disinterest.

A year later, notices there's a WonderSwan flash cart, buys it along with a SwanCrystal, tries out the best games the WonderSwan has to offer, sells it all out of disinterest.

Out of all the WS stuff I've had pass through my hands, I've only kept a blue WonderSwan Color and a complete copy of GunPey which is my favorite game for it. I wouldn't mind having One Piece Swan Colosseum again though. I also have a really beat up B&W WS but who would want it if I sold it?

The recurring theme in my experience is despite the cool hardware, there's hardly anything worthwhile to play on the WonderSwan. The glut of anime games and RPGs have a high language barrier and the usual suspect games from Capcom, Namco, Taito, Koei etc are typically expensive and generally speaking aren't worth writing home about. The flash cart makes the truly best games like Judgement Silversword affordable to play, but hardly any of it really stuck with me as must-haves. The only great exclusives I enjoyed were GunPey and One Piece Swan Colosseum.
#34
Yeah I'd prefer to not separate the PCE from the Tennokoe 2, got nothing to use it on. Just gonna have to wait a while and see what interest there is.

If you can't find a loose PCE on here, I highly recommend Game Doctor HK either on eBay or his site.

#35
I could sell my white PCE as just the console and AV modded Tennokoe 2 at a discounted price.
#36
Ok the truth is I tried a USA RF modulator, gives a weird B&W picture and I never bothered to put back a JPN modulator because I had wanted to AV mod this PCE at some point, but then I got the AV modded tennokoe II adapter and here I am today. I have a PCE Duo so I don't need this white PCE anymore.

If someone really wants me to, I can put back a working JPN RF modulator.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, I re-capped this white PC Engine.
#37
The RF seems to be B&W for me. there's been quite a few on eBay with a bad RF modulator.
#38
bump

Buy/Sell/Trade / gone

No noobs, no leeches, Canada and USA only, Paypal only, I reserve the right to discriminate.

White PC Engine console, includes controller, an AV modded Tennokoe II adapter, Legend of Hero Tonma (loose) and Shada (loose). Console works great aside from the RF modulator per usual with these systems. The console has received a re-capping by me as well.

$100 USD shipped to USA and Canada

Console and Tennokoe 2 sold for $60 USD shipped, controller and games not available
#42
bump, more stuff added

Bruh, do you even math?  :P
It feels like less than a year of actual activity.

Meanwhile, I don't think I've been here for even a year yet.

Quote from: guest on 10/23/2017, 06:14 PMDo they really read stuff from right to left?  Manuals and in game text are always left to right.  :-k

Maybe not so much Japanese text, which can often be read vertically, but they do read books and mangas from right to left. Manuals for Turbo Grafx games read left to right because they're meant for Americans.

Quote from: Green on 10/23/2017, 11:41 AMWhy get it recapped when he has another to recap?
Isn't one console enough? Put the sealed one on a shelf if you have another one. Only makes sense.
Did you even read the OP?

Quote from: Waverider on 10/21/2017, 06:23 PMThe reason I bought the other Duo was to have a back up in case my original dies on me.
Nowhere in his post did he say "I'm holding this sealed duo to flip later", or "I want to keep it sealed forever".

If meant as a backup system, it has to be recapped. Have you seen all the broken Turbo Duo and PCE Duo threads in the repairs section? Going by failure rate alone, it's safe to say that ALL black Duos must be recapped now, no matter how used they are. A sealed Duo, left untreated, will be destroyed from leaking capacitors, eventually it won't be repairable.
#47
The leaky caps are gonna destroy the board, he'll end up with a junk boxed Duo that way.
#48
Send both. All Turbo Duo and black PC Engine Duo consoles need their capacitors replaced now.
#49
Apparently I'm a few months older than the Turbo Duo. When did the black PCE Duo launch?
#50
Not so much the button itself, having a dedicated pause and menu button is always good *looks shamefully at the Sega Master System*, but why a word like "Run"? Is it a weird translation? Just an English word that sounded good to the guys at Hudson Soft? Or did NEC use it because home computer people "Run" programs?
