Well I can't get pics to post for some reason.  Anyway put me down for #128 Victory Run

I'm new to the Turbo and meant to beat this game a while back but been busy this summer.  I wanted to chip in because a member here was very kind in selling me something Turbo related a while back.
Thx for the great community you regs provide.

Fun and challenging game, enjoyed the "garage/parts" aspect of the game.

Good stuff.  I grew up in a typical small town, but we had 3-4 video stores close by that all carried a good selection of games to rent.

However, I never remember seeing Turbo games.  When Blockbuster finally opened a store the Turbografx was dying.

One poster mentioned a sell off of games for cheap when the store closed.   Gosh how I wished I could have taken advantage of those in my area.

I always wonder where Bubble Bath Babes, Hot Slots, Peek a Boo Poker ended up.  All 3 were available to rent and I remember knowing they were "adult" themed games but not having a clue what each game really was.  The video store had just a white box with the title of each game and tags to pull off to take to the counter.

The teenager in me kept trying to figure out how I could rent these to see some animated tits.

Guys I'm a newbie and just got my Turbo a few weeks ago.  Beat Splatterhouse the other night and noticed no one has claimed Victory Run.  I hope to knock it out this weekend.

It is a challenging game

You need a strategy for the entire race (parts) based on your driving preferences.

And...sometimes the terrain is hard to see at night (obstacles in road), so I play in a darkened room.

Man your not kidding hate when night time sets in.  I've been getting my butt kicked already.  I've been playing with the different parts strategies.  Made it about half way through the map/checkpoints last night.

I'm probably going to be putting my Turbo CD on eBay soon. I had a new gear and laser put in it a few years ago. I've just been hesitant to list it because I have no idea how to send the massive box for it.

For me, I just like the look of the briefcase unit more. I'm not sure why they changed the case so much when bringing it to the U.S.

Well let me know what you end up doing.  Only problem is I finally found a the CD unit.  I now need the docking station, ac adapter, and CD system card.

I agree the huge carrying case is awesome.  I'm guessing you probably don't want to break it up to sell.

Great advice.  I got started about a year ago and was totally ignorant to the hobby of collecting and the retro communities that exist.  I started just wanting to get back the games and consoles I traded away as a kid.  I quickly got addicted after accomplishing that goal.  I just recently realized a complete or almost complete NES collection isn't worth it.  I've got the money to acquire more but I'm going to concentrate more on getting titles for other consoles.  Having a budget is a big key.

Would it be beneficial at all to purchase the PC-Henshin card?

Being new to the Turbo I am a little in the dark about the different cards besides the CD system card.

Converters aren't worth the price, are inconvenient, damage the HuCard port, etc. The chopsado is the only one I'd recommend for short term. It doesn't make sense to use a converter to play 300+ games, instead of buying a PC Engine system for half the price. There's only one great Turbo exclusive and maybe 10 exclusives total.

A Turbo-CD combo also takes up 3 times the space of a PCE IFU combo or Duo and you can't play Arcade Card games on one without a converter or region mod.

If you have your heart set on keeping and playing the TG-16 you got first, which happens often with people first getting into Turbo/PCE, then you should use it exclusively to play overpriced Turbo-region HuCard games (often 2 to 10+ times the price of PCE versions). Then buy a PCE Duo or IFU combo for less than the price of a Turbo-CD or a Turbo-region Super CD system card.

If you just want to collect hardware for the sake of it, you're better off developing an attachment to the library/brand first. A SuperGrafx + PCE Duo or IFU combo is much cooler, more functional and still much cheaper than a Turbo-CD combo with Super CD card.

Thanks everyone again for the info.  I know it doesn't make sense and is more expensive but I really want the NA Turbografx 16 CD combo.  No doubt modding the console sound like the way to go; so again I appreciate the advice.

Even though I'm knew to Turbo/PC Engine the collector in me wants the US versions.  There is the rarity factor and there is the factor that I remember seeing Turbo's in Toys R Us and EB games and always wanting to play Fighter Street or Bonk.  Yet I had already committed to the Super Nes and Genesis/Sega CD.  I didn't know one single person that had a Turbo in my area. 

I don't mind paying the money even if it doesn't make sense.  I'm already collecting and playing old video games along with the current generation of consoles.  I don't have enough time to play them all like I'd want but I love trying.

Highly recommended since the gear in a turdo-cd is fragile.In general it's a costly setup to begin with,wouldn't hurt either if you have the TG16 region modded as well.

Thanks again, I'm not worried about the cost...I can piece it together if I can just find it.  I have a guy on NA that has a broken CD; believe it's the gear.  Going to hunt a little longer but probably going to get it and send it to Keith.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting a tg16.  If you have no nostalgia for the TG16 cd I would shy away from it.  I recently got one because I had one growing up.  It's not really the easiest route to go to play the cd games.  I pieced my tg16 cd together over some months and am happy to own it again but you have other options.  The TG16 cd route is very expensive.

It would be cheaper to get a japanese cd-rom or a duo than it would be to try and get a working tg16 cd unit.  A lot of people recommend a duo-r for almost all games and then a TG16 for the US games.

I remember playing TV Sports Football as a kid and getting all the way to the end and being disappointed that I barely got an ending to the game.  From what I recall may one trophy screen lol.

That's what I've heard from others at NA.  Is the TG16 CD that big of a turd?  The guy I bought the Turbo 16 and Turbo Booster Plus has a pc engine/pc engine cd briefcase setup.  I know that is the cheapest option and maybe my best. 

I can't find a working TG16 CD in the wild or on Ebay.  What is the going rate for the card, tray/attachment, and CD unit?

Hey guys looking to buy a working CD attachment for my Turbografx 16 system.  Just got one recently off Nintendo Age and excited to try grow my collection.  Thanks in advance and love what I've seen on the site thus far.

Well, I've never played it but would love to try it.  I recently just purchased a TurboGrafx 16 and just recently got into "retro" collecting about a year ago.  It started with getting the consoles and games I sold or traded away as a kid.

I've just about accomplished that and have now expanded to consoles I never owned but wanted like the Turbo, Panasonic, and Jaguar.

The only game I had played before getting the Turbo about a week ago was Bonk.  I now have Bonk, Air Zonk, Bloody Wolf, and Splatterhouse.  I've been impressed with Air Zonk.  The speed of gameplay and colorful sprites are impressive for the era.
