10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Enjoy the CD-ROM and Super CD-ROM (and do not sleep on HuCards) library first. Do not let the chase for the ACD get in the way of enjoying the other 98% of what is there. Unfortunately for you, the Arcade Card Pro goes for a higher price than the Arcade Card Duo.

I do not play my ACD games much, I only have three. There is so much other games out there that run on CD/SCD that are better. Do you have a Super system Card yet?
HI majors!  Yeah, Super Card is on its way as we speak!  Thanks for the suggestions!  You're right, I can get too ahead of myself...  I'm really really new to the PCE scene..

Quote from: guest on 04/21/2016, 03:35 PMThere's only a dozen games that were made specifically for the Arcade Card.  Research 'em on the Brothers Duomazov, the PC Engine Bible, Videogame Den, youtube, etc. and decide for yourself if you want to play them; we don't know what type of games you like, your tolerance for moon runes, or your interest in comparing different ports.
Sorry, Necro...   I should've put some of this info out first instead of posting so hastily..  I'm interested in just about every genre, but really love shooters, adventure games, and rpgs..   I watched some vids, but in terms of taking the leap to buy, I was hoping to read some suggestions from folks so I could get a sense of their enthusiasm.  Never thought about comparing ports, but that sounds really interesting and might be something new for me to explore!

Thanks for the suggestions!

I'll be sure to post more info next time!

Quote from: Otaking on 04/21/2016, 02:34 PMGet one so you can play Sapphire, Kabuki Itouryodan & Madou Monogatari.

Mad Stalker is ok and there's also Strider which sadly is a bad port.
Thanks!!!  These look great!

Yeah, heard from some others that the Strider port was pretty lack luster.

Greetings Everyone!

Just wondering if some of you could chime in on the benefits/awesome games that would come with purchasing an Arcade Pro Card for my cd rom2.  Does having a Neo Geo CDZ kinda make the purchase pointless?

Again and as always, thank you for your time and attention!

Best!

Thanks!  I know, right?!  I bought it cheap thinking I wouldn't mind, then I kept looking at pictures of the complete IFU and felt pretty jealous....  I think I'll come across one!  Fingers crossed!

I'm missing the top part/lid to my recently purchased IFU-30a.  Any chance anyone here has a spare they could sell me?

Thank you!!!

Just received my CD-Rom2/IFU-30 in the mail today!  Hooked everything up, but no power coming through the IFU...  I ejected the CD-Rom2 from the IFU and plugged it in separately and it gets power..  Am I possibly doing something wrong!  LOL!  Thank you for all your help!

Quote from: Report2Marty on 04/06/2016, 07:04 PMThese are all awesome options!  Thank you so much!  As far as internal mods go, I'm pretty new to the practice..  My experience only goes as far as fixing cold solder points on a master system controller port, and the rgb amp mod for the N64..  Do you feel that this enough experience to perform the internal mod?

Turbokon, that project looks solid!  I'd love to use your photo type in the video game class I'm teaching.  It would be much easier to hook up the tg16 to the lcd's via composite.  How much are you charging for your protos?
Thanks I haven't thought about selling my protos.   This is somethings we might look into later as possibly providing these as kits in the future but I don't know.  We're currently focusing on another project at the moment.  You might check with braap.  We worked on this together.
Thanks, Turbokon!  Keep up the good work and good luck on your current project!

Just trade some old toys for a turbografx 16 and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good no mod rgb alternative, I would be totally grateful!

Thanks everyone!

Getting ready to swap my first middle gear!  I may need one if I wind up losing mine!

Thanks everyone!  NecroPhile, thanks for the welcome!  So, my setup is female scart cable to bnc breakouts that connect to my sony PVM.  The rgb din on my pc engine is located on the right side of the console (I'm hoping the IFU doesn't cover it up when I connect it).  Theoretically I should be able to connect the video via scart and run an rca cable with sound from the IFU to the PVM, yes?  Sorry to keep needing clarification.  Just want to be prepared for when the CD rom and the IFU arrive ;)

Thanks for all your help and patience!  This forum is really amazing!

Awesome!  Thank you so much!!!  Will I need to buy a scart cable that has audio split off  to connect to the IFU?

Greetings All!  I'm new to the forum, as well as PCE gaming.  I own an rgb modded PCE and just purchased a cd-rom2 that comes with an IFU, a system card, and a game.  My question is can I play cd based games in rgb without having to mod the IFU?
