Highest real estate market in the country. A shitty 2BR rat-shack is $650k.
Glad im not the only one. while the market isnt that bad where im at a nice crack house will run you a cool $250000. If you want to have a house you can raise a family in your looking close to $400000 and thats not for a large house. Just a somewhat modern house in a neighborhood thats kind of ok for kids. Im waiting for the next home market collapse since i dont see how this can continue.

Just to be clear. in this hobby there is CIB and CIC. CIB means you want everything including the cardboard box it came it. CIC means you want the jewel case, manual and game. Most people say they want CIB when they really mean CIC. Just as little heads up

Lol. While I love professional monitors, no one was designing games and expecting them to be played this way.
I dont want to derail the weight loss thread but man, it is waaayyyyy better then playing on a modern tv. I suppose if i had a frammeister I could tweak it so it looks and plays satisfactory on modern tvs but i dont own enough retro consoles to justify the purchase. Alien Crush looked like a hot mess on new tvs. even with RGB mod and upscaler. Also the small size of the PVM is perfect till i get a house...If I ever get a house.

Also, didnt ride to work today or hit the gym :(

This guy knows whats up!

I will say this about the original though. I am absolutely fascinated by the use of light and color! so dynamic! This show was made in the early days of color tv, not everyone had one so they way they used light and shadow is amazing to me! For the lucky ones that had color they went overboard and everything is so "bright"

Now the movie im going to nominate is a kids movie but let me tell you, I can honestly say this movie is absolutely terrible even by kids standards. Let me set up the scenario for you guys.

Many years ago I was a projectionist at a movie theater. during the summer months we would host summer movie camps, basically summer camps bring there kids to the movies and we will show some random kids movie. The movies were always quite new so it wasnt very exciting work. Well one day the for summer movie cam we got GOBOTS: BATTLE OF THE ROCKLORDS!!!!! I was excited. This must have been in 2003ish and we got 35mm prints for a 1986 children movies! I call all my friends and told them to come to the theater after it closes to watch this masterpiece on the big screen. As you could guess me and about 10 friends went from super excited to completely bummed all within five minutes of this movie. The worst part was since I was the projectionist who volunteered to watch the print I had to sit there are watch the whole turd to make sure there was no screw ups on the print. I guess there is a reason gobots are rarely ever talked about
Hmmm, I wonder if I saw this back in the day (serialized as several episodes).

Of course, I don't remember anything about the Gobots cartoon.

Well, I do remember some character who says "Let's blow this pop stand" .... possibly as a catch phrase.

And that is my only tangible, lasting memory of the show.
I only had a vague memory of the show and toys. They were good memories. Until that summer. The original Transformers movie holds up after all this time but for the love of god if you must watch the Gobots movie at the very least be halfway through an 18 pack. I suppose if you know going into it its going to be something truly awful you may be able to watch it in a mystery science theater way.

+2 for DS9

It takes a season or two to get hooked but once you are in its fantastic. Basically I feel the stories and characters are deeper then any other trek franchise.

Next is Voyager

It really fleshes out the Borg more then STTNG and its really not bad as a whole.

Star Trek Enterprise is meh for me. That being said dont miss out on that one either. Its pretty solid and even though I didnt like it as much as the others I can see that its pretty solid as well

Quote from: schweaty on 12/23/2016, 12:43 PMIMO, You pretty much have 2 choices:  1.  If you are starting from nothing and you can afford it, buy big Lots and sell off what you don't want.  That's about the only way to make it affordable.  2.  Patience Patience Patience sometimes it may feel like you will never find what you are looking for, but don't get hasty.  I've waited years for specific titles to come up at a reasonable price.  I've gone months without buying anything, the make multiple purchases in the span of a few days because the right deals come up.  Method 2 requires you need you have the money to buy quickly  with minimal decision time.  Good deals don't last long
THIS GUY!

I get mostly from facebook groups and occasional ebay purchase. You have t be patient though, the deals still happen but not often. Like said above. Ill go months without a single purchase then all of a sudden im buying 5 to 10 games at a time! This is the only system im interested in so I dont mind paying a tiny bit more but often times I dont have to. Also as stated before, buying lots. Another thing that helps is not being a stickler about condition. Tru I only collect CIC games but i dont really care about the condition.

Quote from: guest on 01/03/2017, 04:40 PMSorry to hear about your back problems!

I fell off the wagon for Thanksgiving and stayed off until Jan 1st.  In that time I put back on 25 lbs. Boggles the mind! I thought the daily pint of liquor would offset the 5 daily drive-thru upsized combo meals, but it seems they work in tandem.
I like to booze it up too! It took a looooooong time to master but now I can slam booze all day and not eat shit food at 1am. I remember walking downtown getting totally shit faced (I usually started the walk hammered) then finish off my night of 18+ beers with 4000 calories of the greasiest crap I could get my hands on. What really opened my eyes one day was I bought 3 burritos at 7-11 one night, when i woke the next morning I looked at the wrapper and EACH ONE WAS LIKE 1000 cals!!! So just that day alone I consumed 2 to 3 days worth of calories! Now I stay away from beer and no longer do the late night binge eating so it probably cut those calories to half!

Wise man once said. "Its not what you do between thanksgiving and new years. Its what you do between new years and thanksgiving".

I was reading a forum or some shit and there was this fitness guru to the stars on there and everyone was asking what can they do on the holidays to lose/ keep fit etc. He basically told everyone to eat whatever they want and dink whatever they want and workout when you can. That time between thanksgiving and new years is about family and enjoying life and to not be a miserable prick lol. If you are doing what you are supposed to for the rest of the year then you can slack on the holidays.

So lets go!!!

I go away for two weeks and you guys let this thread reach the second page! Shame on you lazy bastards. I was on vacation for two weeks.... well I was supposed to be anyway but god had to step in and destroy my back! First day into vacation I mess my back up bad, practically bed ridden for 4 days. Then I go to urgent care and get some drugs and an Xray. Xray doesn't show anything so I get an MRI. Still waiting for  the DR to get back to me. The end of my vacation though the pain went from off the charts to just 10 out of 10. As of today the pain goes from like 4 to 7, I am hopeful to be back in the weight loss game in a week or so.

So how is everyone else progress lol.

When I was collecting Neo Geo the only thing you have to worry about was getting freaked carts. I wonder whatever happened to those guys?

ChrisR still occasionally rears his head to remind the world that they are all peons unless they have a fully corrected NGF set and a Freaked KOF 2000 blessed by the Pope. Aparently Crazy Dion is no longer winning at life to the extent that he once was and I haven't heard from him in a while. He's no longer physically threatening people and destroying irreplaceable SNK stuff and bragging about how he worked at Neo Geo Word so they gave him the floor mat.

Now we just have fakes. NGF, as gross as they are, were less interested in selling you a genuine looking fake for money than they were in selling you a something that had the NGF mystique smeared all over it and convincing you that this made it better and more exclusive than genuine stuff. That made them feel cooler and more loved than SNK themselves. Somehow people did and STILL go for this. There are people who are like, "Is my US KOF 2000 real and complete?" Not undertataing that since every copy is Freaked that there is no such thing. NGF would have us believe that there are in fact FAKE US KOF 2000s, fake things perpetrated as NGF, which is semi-fake in the first place. It's a weird world.

Now we mainly have stuff that pretends to be real, like a case of fake US Aero Fighters 3 being sold for 10s of thousands of dollars per unit to people who clearly don't ask a lot of questions.

And I say "we" somewhat disingenuously. I am not and have never been an AES collector because I was born with a dick already. I have had other SNK systems though and have been mostly lurking in the US Neo scene since the mailing list days.

I wasn't joking about the Pope, btw.
Jesus. Some things seem to never change. I bought my original collection for $200 back in 98 and sold it shortly there after for about $1000 which I promptly used to get a candy cab and an MVS 4 slot.

I saw the writing on the wall way back then.

I hope it comes sooner then later. I only collect for the turbo and I already got some of the "higher" end games. So far I think my most expensive purchase was $65 for a single game. Im not collecting for any investment purposes this is solely for my own satisfaction but no one wants to pay anymore then they have to. I think systems like the turbo and neo geo will stay pretty stable since they were not that popular and in the case of the neo geo super expensive so there are not many copies floating around. It would be nice to get a bonks 3 or air zonk and magical chase but I already made the decision im getting those in repro form. As long as the handful of repros I will have in my collection look good im not going to sweat it. In all honesty I have been thinking of getting an everdrive. Ill still collect since the nostalgia and the hunt still apeal to me but ill be more discerning in my purchases.

wow. that turned into a little more then I wanted to write.

I come to realize that my laziness makes no sense. Went to drive to work today...car was showing tire had low pressure. I didnt feel like dealing with getting change and stopping at the gas station to fill the tires with air. So instead I rode my bike to work 8.5 miles. Admittedly most of it is along the coast of fortlauderdale beach so the scenery is super sweet. 17th street causeway bridge can suck it though!

If you dont get enough of that D!

The symptoms of vitamin D deficiency are sometimes vague and can include tiredness and general aches and pains. Some people may not have any symptoms at all.

If you have a severe vitamin D deficiency you may have pain in your bones and weakness, which may mean you have difficulty getting around. You may also have frequent infections. However, not everyone gets these symptoms.

The Dr had to prescribe me the D last I went I was so low on D. Which like i said was odd because i live in South Florida and I am outside all the time.

So you guys should get the D, I know it might be scary at first and you dont think you can get it all down but it gets easier
