[Console Repair/Mod Center / Super CD-Rom help needed]

Hello forum,
I was disassembling the SCD and I am having trouble disconnecting the laser mechanism from the board.  Do I pull? Pinch the sides and pull? Pray to the PC Engine Gods? I looked around for videos on disassembling but no luck.  Also how do you release the magnet on the lid? Thanks for your help in advance.

My copies loaded up fantastic except now the Games Express games won't and I at least got some gameplay out of them on the junk system.  Even my real game won't load.  Wonder if the system card is busted.  Not really a big deal.  Been playing World Heroes 2 and Altered Beast.  The latter simply to see if I could use the everdrive as a system 1.0 card.  Been wondering if WH2 is 6-button.

Update:
Got my backup SCD today.  Was able to play Dracula X (loading didn't take 2 minutes), finally was able to enjoy Sapphire as the backup didn't get stuck.  Wouldn't load AV Tanjo though.  Just waiting on the damn grease to start the overhaul on the other SCD.  I swear my overseas packages arrived faster than a small tube of grease.  I get my 15 games tomorrow.  I ordered: Ys 1-4, Graduation 1, 2 and Miki, Yawara 1 and 2, Princess Maker 1 and 2, Prince of Persia, Brandish, 3x3 Eyes, Macross: Eternal Love, and Dragon Ball Z.

My figures are averaged from 40 listings from ebay as of today.  The only way to get it cheaper would be if you lived near me or trade.

@CrackTiger --- Got it and thanks  I will do just that. LOL. Yea I like my RX controller. 
As for Kabuki-den it is $3-$25 w/o s&h, avg. $11....flat-rate where I live is $7 so total will likely be $18.  But I want to try it before I sell/trade.

@Gredier -- Yes, 4x, I got my lens cleaner the other day, made it go through a couple cycles, is reading when CD is is lined up with laser, but a full reset makes the laser look for a while before finding the correct track.  Figure it needs to be greased up at the least. 
Bought basically a whole replacement kit, New laser, capacitors, lube, oil, middle gear, and screwdriver.  Because how else can I fix it  .  Also bought another SCD unit to test, to make sure it was in-fact the laser and not my CDs or burning process.

Understood, I just know it solved my issues, rather than have "bad" roms...although that is still a possibility as I haven't tested all roms yet.

Solved the problem of all 3 instances.  SuperGrafx has switch in the back labeled I & II.
I -- is for SG Hu-Cards.
II -- is for all other cards

Gradius (J)---color glitch gone
New Adventure Island (U)---Respawn graphical glitching gone
Night Creatures (U)---Is fully playable

Thanks for the support.  I am trying a handful of  "backups" AV Tanjo, Sapphire, Dracula X.  I use crappy memorex cds and they all get stuck fairly early in the gameplay (loading transition), however I got my Taiyo Yuden cds today and see no improvement.  I used turborip then imgburn.  I wonder if the lens has to be cleaned and if so how to safely do that.  I purchased 2 different brand lens cleaners, but am looking for a quick fix to play my games until they arrive.

I got my SCD today along with my DUO-RX controller.  Played Dracula X and Snatcher today.  The seller gave my FEOE Kabuki-den complete, no OBI though.  Most likely sell or trade it, haven't decided yet.  Ordered me a Supergrafx to SCD cable since mine didn't come with it.  I can't wait to play Ys...never played 3 or 4.

99% of the time it's bad roms. There aren't any compatibility issues with good roms, only compatibility issues with some console mods.

Hi Forum,
I was skimming through the U.S. hu-card library and found that Night Creatures doesn't boot up properly, sound plays fine, also Adventure Island displays corrupted graphics when I die, but will correct itself when stage is completed or I die again, Gradius the color black turns blue after a certain amount of powerups.  So far these are the only ones that show any issues.
I have Ver. 2.4 board. Smokers rompack. And Supergrafx.

Yea just ordered a SCD unit from gamedoctorhk.  Don't know if and when it will be shipped, but I ordered it.  I should have went with a Duo + Supergrafx would have probably saved me $200-$300 but at least I getting what I want and wait until a better deal comes around next time.

Yea definitely sounds like a good time, definitely will be interested in those titles, I like trades because even when you get something of more/lesser value, you are ultimately getting what you want regardless.  I know the Bonk games, Splatterhouse, and any working designs titles.  I am a self-proclaimed fan of the company, own all PS1, PS2 titles, and 1 SS title, as well as exclusives they had with their items. Have an extra Lunar1 with cloth map psx

The Spurs are my team.  I just dropped $600 for Supergrafx CIB, multitap, 4 controllers, and an everdrive.  It will be a while. I have to go to the black market and sell my kidney.

Ahh...I got a everdrive because I am a PCE virgin and this way I can try most of the games and pick ones  I truly want and not just want for the sake of wanting...when I know I will only want 20-40 of them and then I will let friends use the everdrive and see what they like.  Share the spoils when you can.  Just waiting for my supergrafx and everdrive to get here. Getting excited.

Yea I want that too but don't have steady hands.  Saw some FS post of systems with RGB the guy named Mickcris...if his location is true on his profile he is only 15-20 mins from me.
I am set in terms of hu-cards with the everdrive.  Just trying to line all my ducks in a row as the saying goes.  I found a card 2-3 days ago for $50 USD loose and one for $100, 3 days before that.

Multi tap -- 3 or 5 port (no preference)
6-button controller -- 1 Duo-RX
3-button controller -- 1 (no preference)
Arcade Pro System Card
Super CD-Rom or PCE Briefcase complete with RAU-30 (SCD preferably)

All item don't need to be CIB, I am a gamer not a collector as long as they work great I will feel and be great.
