[Console Repair/Mod Center / PC-E Duo SCART with 3.5mm?]

I recently rewired an old 8 pin din SMS cable for use on my newly RGB modded Duo and I am wonder if I should add audio as 3.5mm, similar to cables made for the Model 1 Genesis/MegaDrive.

After researching the major cable retailers I notice 3.5mm isn't even an option.  Are the aux outs on Duo's infamously bad or something?

Hello, I need advice on re-lubing / greasing my Duo.  First of all, is this recommended?  I have white lithium grease on hand, which as I am sure you are aware / can see in the photo it has the consistency of toothpaste.  The tube I have was originally purchased for N64 thumbstick repairs, well before I owned this sweet console    8oz will most likely last me a lifetime  ^^

I am afraid that this may be counter intuitive to what I am trying to achieve?  The threads of the cylinder motor gear and white gear are small, so wouldn't lithium grease potentially clog these and make them gummy over time?

I have already cleaned the previous gunk buildup on the gears from factory, most of the gunk was on the cylinder gear.  You can still notice traces of the buildup in the photos, it is a dark amber/orange color.  I will probably hit these up a tad more with more degreaser soap.  I'm a bit hesitant to use isoprophyl 91% (will this have a negative affect on the gears?)

These drives are prone to operating 'loud' right?  I am used to this with systems like the Dreamcast where the drive (at least mine) runs very loud.

What do ya'll do?

The bit need for a US DUO,Turbo grafx, core grafx, and pc engine is a 4.5mm security bit. A Japanese PC engine DUO, DUO-R/RX, and super CD-rom 2 drives use a t10 torx bit.

I've used size #4 3/4 inch in length wood screws to replace any of them with great results. They are slightly longer then the original but this is good for any that have stripped out holes.

When you say #4 3/4 inch these are for the the (5?) outside case screws, right? 

While we are at it, any idea about the 2x cartridge / shield screws and the main pcb / power supply pcb (7? in total) screws?

Hi, there.  Also posted this on another forum, but I figure this is the place to ask:

Kind of embarassed on this one but here it goes:

Could someone share the screw sizes for a PC-Engine Duo? I may have misplaced some screws for the console.. I have a pile of screws the are from all sorts of projects and I want to avoid stripping something. I imagine these are machine screws if I had to bite the bullet and outsource my own from a store? Not sure if Japan followed a different standard and if the threads were crazy different / impossible to match up with stuff in 2017

EDIT: Realize I posted this in T16/TE/TurboDuo Discussion thread... hopefully the screw pinout is same?  Or perhaps mod can help move this to correct location? 'Apologies

This community seems great, I just noticed the sticky thread that lists all capacitor values for the Duo, so I will be placing an order soon most likely from digikey or equivalent.  Hopefully everything can be found easily, I've never really order from them and it seems a tad overwhelming..

[Console Repair/Mod Center / New Duo owner - Now what?]

I am now the proud owner of a Duo. What are my next steps? The PCB is a PWA-3285-A


-Do cap kits now include the 2x ceramic caps to fix the Jailbar issues?
-For RGB, any suggestions on the AV driver or THS7374?
-I live in the States, and the Duo came with the OEM power brick, do I need a stepdown converter? I've never owned a system from another region until now.


Also, is it still recommended to burn images at 2x or 1x speed with 650mb 74min CDs if possible for Disc games?
