Localization Legend "Supper the Subtitler" has "joined the club" in being targeted for CD-pressings by bootleg master Tobias/PCEWorks! His projects like Private Eyedol, Galaxy Fräulein Yuna 1 & 2, etc. are now being sold on Chinese factory-pressed CDROMs...

That is coming out to be about $56 per game. $56 for Keith Courage? WTF?!?!
That's hilarious. I've been looking at some of the retro gaming items on auction there recently and the prices they get up to are just insane. I have no idea what the people on there are thinking.

Here's another one that shocked me (non-TG16)

I connected my XRGB-Mini to my LA with the Sega PAC over the weekend using just straight composite video.

It spit out this really strangely colored image with everything I tried on the PAC.

Strangely, LDs looked perfectly fine. Connecting the composite to the TV directly played perfectly fine and I tried several other consoles on the composite input of the XRGB and they all worked fine.

Anyone seen anything like this before?

The seller only had a huge LD movie collection and he gave me a bunch of his duplicates.
I found a copy of Hi-Roller Battle for my first LA game, however!

I ended up getting a different LA unit from another local seller. It's in excellent shape and plays LDs just fine. The seller even included about 40 (regular) LD movies with it.

Excited to try out my PACs tonight.

I'd like to join the LA club, please.

Picked up a beautiful LaserActive unit from a local seller over the weekend. He even included about 40 LDs (regular movies, not games).
Can't wait to try out the NEC PAC I was lucky to find on the cheap in Japan.

Thanks for the opinions and suggestions, everyone!
I really appreciate it.

I think you are all right about it being far too much money for the player if there is a major issue like that.
I will take SignOfZeta's suggestion also and see if the seller will try an LD with the PAC not installed, just in case that's the problem.

On a recent trip back to Japan, I picked up a PAC-N1 for a very reasonable price. I've always wanted to have a full MD/PCE LaserActive set, so I was really excited to find this piece.

I've since been looking for a decent deal on either a bare CLD-A100 or one with a Genesis/MD PAC included. There are a few on the Bay, but a lot of them seem quite overpriced.

There is also one that is on sale locally very close to me, but it seems to have LD playback issues. Has anyone ever seen anything like this and thinks there may be a way to repair it?

The problem is shown on the last two images. Apparently this is only happening with LDs and not with PAC games.

My TED works fine, but sometimes I get the annoying white screen too. If you're sure your SD card is good and you have the region switch on the card in the correct position, I would also try pulling the card out from the slot just a hair (with the system powered off, of course). Then try powering it on again.

Sometimes if you shove the cards too far into the slot, they don't make very good contact with the card slot pins and you'll get a white screen.
