I've been using TDK (700Mb CD-R80 blue tops) & Verbatim (700Mb 52X white tops) in My DUO & DUO-R with just a slight tweak to the pots. I tried a couple of other brands and had intermittent success (mainly skipping audio).

I do find burning at low speed seems to improve matters and if I use my trusty old Plextor SCSI burner I get better results.

I just imported two DUO's, two IFU-30's and CDROM2 and surprise, surprise they all need cap kits and the cd-drives in the IFU-30's need replacement middle cogs too.

As I'm in the UK does anyone know of a UK source for cap kits & cogs?

I can get the cogs from HK or YAJ but shipping & import duty make it a PITA.

The last couple of DUO's I did I got the kits from "starwander" off eBay.com but I can't find any US sellers that like selling to the UK (or shipping is more than the cap kit).

I've been using these 9VDC @ 2.4A UK PSU's for any PCE imports I've got, you just need to swap the DC plug on the end to the correct size/polarity. Off-load they output 9.1-9.2VDC.

I can confirm they work fine with IFU-30's, Shuttles, Core-II's, Duo-r's & Duo's. the extra Amps means the voltage doesn't drop on heavy load.
