10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Thanks you all.
It seems that I have to improve my soldering skills asap, and trust in my "trusty" low cost solder iron.
I will keep you updated.
Once again, thanks for encouraging me to do it, since as everyone said, should not be very difficult...

Quote from: guestThe controller port in the Duo R is only soldered on the underside and the solder is prone to cracking. The only way to fix it is to open the console and reflow the solder.
Thank you both for the super quick reply.
I have already made my MacGyver move a long time ago, but now is the time to find a lifetime solution, something more permanent...

Will try to order some proper screwdriver to be able to open it and have a look inside.
If someone knows were to find a tutorial (or even a proper explanation) of how to re-solder/reflow the port, would be much appreciate it.

In the mean time, thanks a lot.

Hey Guys,
I do not know if this topic was mentioned before.
Since a long time I am having issues plugging a control pad on my Japanese Duo-R.
Seems that is not detecting properly the pad, and the run button does not work anymore, and sometimes pressing left during a game play, works as the run button...
A total mess.  Anyway, this issue can be solved readjusting and re-connecting with certain pressure the control  again, and moving it to the right.
Seems that the controller port could be damaged.
I have tested it with several controllers with the same wrong behavior.
Since I have a terrible soldering skills I would like to know it there is another way without open the console.
Please let me know if you have any idea and may thanks!
