UK based seller. Can give glowing 400+ 100% ebay and forum feedback. Anything from Ginga fukei densetsu sapphire and downtown nekketsu monogatari original, complete with spines and reg cards to basic PC Genjins! 271 games for sale! Contact me for whatever you're looking for.

Initially looking for UK based buyers, but judging by PM's received so far everyone seems US based. I'm currently selling a lot of items through a UK based forum, will post here again if i'm going to start shipping overseas, apologies for any confusion. If however any UK members here want to get in touch, please do.

Right then, let's take this back to the beginning as it's clearly difficult for a couple of people to get their heads around what is happening. The original question was, "what would YOU rate each game", which is what i did. I gave MY ratings in the same format as set by the original poster. Now, because my opinion differs from someone else's, i get my intelligence brought in to question as i clearly don't have the I.Q. to get my head around the meaning of the word gameplay. So why should i justify anything to a couple of people who have thrown their toys out their prams just because someone dares to have a differing opinion? I don't feel the need to question the ratings they were quite happy to throw out quite freely, simply because that opinion is THEIR choice. You see how simple that is? Go and have another think about it and get back to me when you can understand what i'm saying. No rush, take your time.

That's a good, well reasoned post. From someone who rates the game as a favourite. Lessons to be learned there.  =D>

Quote from: runinruder on 05/11/2009, 07:32 AMGate of Thunder is one of my favorite shooters, and I'd give it a 10 for gameplay.

That being said, I don't think it's impervious to criticism.  If someone were to tell me that they didn't enjoy the game as much as they might have because 95% of it is cake and you barely even have to move to defeat five of the seven bosses, well, I wouldn't argue with them.  Those factors don't impact my enjoyment of the game, but I could certainly see how they could affect someone else's.  And it would have to be reflected somewhere in the "number grades" they give, and "gameplay" seems like a more suitable area than "graphics" or "sound effects."

There are also instances where a person just doesn't like a game very much for idiosyncratic reasons.  This seems to be the case with Ikobo and Gate of Thunder, as he hasn't mentioned anything specific he dislikes about it.  I don't see anything wrong with that, especially in a topic of this nature where people are mostly just tossing around numbers without any explanation anyway.  It's not like Ikobo is making any claims of being "objective" with his score or saying that everyone else should agree with him.

Well let's get something else clear here, just because YOU say so doesn't make it an undeniable fact. But yeah, maybe  i do get a laugh out of messing with you too. It's still a 6. In fact, now that i've had more time to think about it, it's probably a 5.
#5
It wouldn't matter if a million people told me to rate GOT higher, i'm not going to change my mind. I don't like it, but that's only my opinion. I don't take offence if someone doesn't like the same things as me, but maybe i'm more secure. You may think your girlfriends attractive and i might think she's a pig, everybody likes different things.
#6
I gave SSS a 7. And i'd rate the rest....

Gunhed 9 (The first game that got me in to shooters)

Final soldier 6 (never really warmed to it)

Soldier blade 10 (My favourite shooter ever)

Star parodia 8 (i think it's a great, fun little game)

Argos do good ones with multi connection steven, just buy one of them? They save on stepdowns and are more reliable.
#8
And like i said, i've just never really liked it. It would be a pretty boring place if we all just liked the same things!  There are lots of PC-Engine games that people say are fantastic that i just don't like, doesn't make me right or them wrong though.  :D
#9
It's just a matter of personal preference Tatsujin, i've just never really liked gates of thunder, i prefer winds.

I've just been online trying to find a decent sized brand new CRT, you just can't buy them any more!
#12
Due to some recent purchases i've ended up with multiple copies of the following, pics and more detailed descriptions to follow.

Dracula X - Near mint with spine and reg card. £75

1941 (Supergrafx) - complete with card slipcase etc. £70

Ghouls and ghosts. (Supergrafx) - complete with card slipcase etc. £20

Battle ace. (Supergrafx) - complete with card slipcase etc. £10

Darius plus. £8

Streetfighter 2 (brand new, sealed) £10

I'm located in Scotland, so probably easier for UK buyers. Have sold a lot of stuff internationally though and i can show my ebay feedback, and a few posters on here have bought a lot from me. PM if interested. All prices do not include P&P.
#13
For a long time now i've had all my engines hooked up to a plasma, just pulled an old CRT out of a cupboard to see just what the difference would be. Jesus H Christ, it's like having a new console, the games look stunning. Been sat here for two days now just loading stuff up to see how it looks! Now need to start checking for sale ads to find a bigger CRT..........................
#14
The prices this fetches these days are ridiculous. When i bought mine, mint, for £90 years back from VGI i was annoyed then, i'd be raging now! It's a pretty good game, nothing special graphics wise though. I could've burned you a copy so you could've tried it before you bought it jamie, but i think you're just well in to your collecting at the moment!
#15
Steven, the one you're selling on ebay looks near-mint, you may struggle to find better these days? My own is a bit of a cracker and i can't bring myself to sell it! Sorry i haven't left you feedback for the duo yet, turns out i don't have a suitable PSU for it so need to find one to test the machine with! If your ebay briefcase doesnt go give me a shout, i have a friend who would love it, but it's just a bit too expensive.

 :D

No, the screen is actually pretty good as far as that is concerned. This is in my "games" room, the room that keeps the peace between me and my girlfriend. She doesn't go in it, in exchange for me agreeing not to fill the rest of the house with consoles and guitars. Didn't seem much point buying a real high end screen just for gaming, this does the job just fine.
#17
No problem, just let me know the next time you're in Scotland. Always happy to show some Scottish hospitality.

Happy?  :P

Fixed that for ya.

P.S. - No offense intended; to each his (or her) own.
I love the way people say "no offense" just before being offensive!

None taken though, i had just flipped over from playing the 360 to take those shots, 4:3 is but a button press away.............
#20
No, it isn't. What it IS, is one of the finest games ever made. Happy to help.  8)

I have a white briefcase as my main system, hooked up to a 50" LG plasma. It gives a surprisingly good picture, but the RGB modded engine sat in front of the screen is very blocky through it?

/PCE003.jpg

My stick of choice is an imp 328. Bought from ebay boxed, new for £20. Shaped like a Neo stick and surprisingly solid and good quality.

/PCE004.jpg

Big screen Sapphire goodness.  :D

I made him a best offer of £99.99, he counter offered £999.99. I came back with £149.99 and he declined  :D I may now send him a £0,01p offer.
#24
The Scottish one was KT Konsoles. He was a top lad who provided me with my first ever briefcase setup (with arcade card), ah, days gone by!
#25
I understand what you're saying, it just hacks me off that i kind of feel raven games have ripped you off a bit. I know for a fact that a friend of mine traded a really nice one in to them and they gave him £220. But they then think it's ok to charge someone £650????? LT's are great, i've owned several. If i pick up another i'll give you a shout!
#26
This is the problem though, pricing for items such as LT's has changed significantly. I personally paid £650 for a minter as well, but that was nearly ten years ago from videogameimports. I'm not having a dig at you in any way, but to say you can't pick one up for between £300-400 in the condition you describe simply isn't true. As stated before, i've sold three in fantastic condition in the last few years in that price bracket. People DON'T have more disposable income these days, and people selling items like LT's get brought back to earth with a bump when they go for the prices i've stated, but that the fact is that things like these aren't good investments in the current financial climate.
#27
Well, Raven games are an absolute joke as far as prices are concerned. (as are most uk import shops) If you're happy to pay £650 thats good, but personally i think thats a price you should have paid maybe 8-10 years ago. In the last couple of years i've bought and sold several *mint* LT's for between £280-370 which i would say is a realistic price point in the uk.
#28
From raven games? Oh dear, how much did you pay?
#29
Do you also have this stuff listed on ebay? I have to tell you mate, i sell a lot of PC-Engine stuff, some of the prices you are asking are way off. You can pick up sealed copies of super long nose goblin for less than £15 for example. You should maybe rethink some of the prices if you want bites from uk buyers, overseas bidders might pay higher.
#30
Thats nothing. 8 or 9 years ago, a boxed nice example would have cost around £6-700 from UK import stores. And a couple of years before that you would have been looking at nearer £1000! The people you see popping up on ebay from europe with those mental prices these days, are the same people who can't see that the prices have dropped big time and are still living in the past.
#31
A lot of overpriced kit seems to be coming out over here at the moment. Unrealistic sellers. In general a loose LT goes for £200 or a nice, complete boxed one between £280-350. I've sold three boxed, mint ones in the last couple of years for £320, £340 and £370.
#32
This is probably a stupid question, but the resolution on all the screenshots is tremendous, how do you manage that? Even on scart RGB converted systems i can't get a display like that!
#33
Hi, tried to contact you through ebay to ask when the core II i bought will be shipped, no reply yet so thought i'd ask here. thanks.
#34
I've been clearing out all the unwanted games that have come with the big lots i've been buying, these will go too. Was just curious as to the rarity of them. In all the years and 100's of PC-Engine games i've had i'd never seen them! But considering they were thrown in free i'm guessing they're worth nothing!
#35
Thanks!  :)
#36
These two games were included in a bulk purchase i made recently. Never seen them before and wasjust curious to there names. One comes with what looks like a leather filofax?????

09/25/2008, 11:24 AM
Hi guys, after selling up my massive engine collection a few years ago i've caught the bug again. System wise i'm looking to find another nice boxed LT. Gamewise i'm looking for far too many to list, so if you have mint, complete (or sealed) games you're looking to sell, please get in touch. Obviously not looking for rubbish like deep blue though!  :D  I live in scotland, so UK sellers would be easier, but i'll buy from anywhere!

Also if it's of any interest to anyone,i have a mint boxed jap MD with 14 games and a dreamcast with a pile of addons and 57 games all boxed in excellent condition that have to go.These items would be of more interest to buyers in the UK because of shipping weights though.
