I'm just curious, does anyone know how well this mirai adaptor work?  Does it support all games?  How about the super system card/arcade card?  I had a green diving board, but it didn't work with my arcade card pro, so I ended up getting a second TG 16, and modding it myself.  Anyway thanks.

Hey, you guys might wanna check this out.  There's not much information about it now, but the guys over at gamesx are trying to figure out how to install super grafx chips into a turbo express.  It's currently the top-topic at http://www.gamesx.com/index2.htm">www.gamesx.com/index2.htm

My Turbo CD hasn't been able to save games anymore.  I'm not sure what the problem is, but whenever I turn it off, the saves are always gone.  Do I need to change the batteries or something?  The manual is long gone, so I don't really know what to do.  I also don't seem to have anything to unscrew the thing in case I do need to change the batteries.  Thanks for your help.

well, if the rarity list is too difficult, then why not at least make complete (or as complete as you can) lists of TG-16/PC Engine/PC FX games, arranged alphabetically and by genre?  Then maybe a little blurb about them and possibly some sort of rating that we could maybe vote on?

I don't know of one, but I think it's a great idea.  How about putting one up on this site?

I've had my Turbo Grafx 16/CD for a long time.  But for the Arcade CD games, I got an Arcade Card Pro and a game convertor.  With that setup, I can play everything except Super Grafx games.  There are only 6 of those though, so I'm really not to worried.

As for importing a Duo, if I were you, I'd get an American one.  It can play all of the CD and Super CD games, where-ever they are from, and there are very few Arcade Card games to begin with.  Aside from Saphire, I think the only ones to come out are SNK Fighters, and if you're going to spend a lot of money to get those you may as well get them on Neo Geo.  It's actually not THAT much more expensive, at least for the older carts.

Without having an adaptor, an American Turbo Grafx or Turbo Duo can only play American Hu Cards.  Likewise, a Japanese PC Engine/Duo can only play Japanese Hu Cards without an adaptor.

There were three different CD formats for the PC Engine/Turbo Grafx's cd add on.  Regular CDs, Super CDs, and Arcade CDs.  The Turbo Duo can play both regular and Super CDs if they're from America or Japan.  The Turbo CD add on for the Turbo Grafx needs a specific Hu Card called a System Card to play CDs.  The system card 2.0 lets you play regular CDs, and the Super System Card 3.0 lets you play Super or Regular CDs.

As for Arcade CDs, in Japan only a 3'rd memory upgrade came out called the Arcade Card.  It let you play Arcade CDs.  There were actually two Arcade Cards produced.  The Arcade Card Pro, and the Arcade Card Duo.  The Arcade Card Pro worked when you had a PC Engine with the CD add on, and the Arcade Card Duo worked on the Japanese Duo.

So, if you want to play an Arcade CD on your American Turbo Duo, you will have to buy a convertor, and an Arcade Card Duo.

As for PC FX cds, the PC FX was more like a Playstation, as opposed to a Super Nintendo.  It is an entirely seperate console, and is not backwards compatable at all.  I hope that clears some things up for you.

If you're still after this game, they sell them new at www.tzd.com  So I guess they can't still be that rare.

PC-FX Discussion / Ys V
10/15/2002, 11:55 AM
I was reading an old GameFan over the weekend, and they were talking about the upcoming "FX."  They were quoting statistics and listing a few things about it, and at the bottom they said that Ys V was going to be ported to the PC-FX.  Does anyone know anything about this, more than that ?  Thanks.
