10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Hokay! So I think someone's buying Sapphire outright.

That means my LT  is still for sale!
Hoping for about $600.

Thanks, guys!

What's up, everyone?

Hokay, so I got no respectable bites on my sealed Sapphire and my boxed LT. (Do LTs really only sell for $400 these days?!) I threw them up as a set on the usual auction site. Please see my previous post for authentication by way of CrackTiger's awesome Sapphire debunk page!

Hey everyone. :)

I'm a longtime Turbo List member and pcengine-fx.com lurker, but I'm new to these forums. I'm selling my two most worthy video game items so I can travel; I'm just a starving student, so please no lowball offers...    I dont' want to sell these, so please don't make me regret it!

I'm just asking for offers at this point since I'm a bit out of touch with what these items are worth.

1) The PC-Engine LT:
Purchased at Mandarake otaku shop, in Fukuoka, Japan in 2004. 1 dead pixel. Box is kind of beaten up. The shop clerk was very apologetic for a few missing plastic plugs that protect the various I/O jacks. Other than the dead pixel, the LT itself is in pretty nice shape, no cosmetic damage at all. Complete (to my knowledge) -- includes instructions, warranty card, etc. Works very well; made a fine TV for my dorm room in Fukuoka. ;) I'm happy to field any questions; pictures are below. I'm sorry the pictures suck -- believe it or not, I don't own a digital cam, so I took these with a disposable point-and-shoot.  No, the Virtual Boy is not included.

2) Unopened Ginka Fukei Densetsu SAPPHIRE (Legit!):
I'm prrrreeeetty sure I bought this from good ol' superfami.com back in high school. As such, it was from a reputable collector (that's Chris Barker's site, isn't it?) and I never doubted its authenticity. But, with all the fakies flying around, I put it to the test according to CrackTiger's website -- bang-up job, by the way, dude.

As the item is sealed, I can't check things like the width of the ring on the CD, the paper stock of the warranty card, etc.  I *do*, though, have a bootleg (NOT for sale!) so I could perform side-by-side comparison shots. The two links below are from my crappy scanner.  I hope they're convincing enough; if there're any doubts, please feel free to call me out.

Here's the sealed/mint/authetic FOR SALE item:

Here's the comparison shot; the real deal's on the left, the booby on the right:

----

Hokay. So. Once again, I'm not asking a strict price, yet. Please send *serious* offers ASAP, though! ;) I'm not a professional collector or reseller, but if there're any doubts to my integrity or the condition of the items, please please ask without hesitation and I'll do what I can to make things kosher. I'm just a geek living in San Diego; if I do you any wrong feel fry to fly out and beat me up. In the good faith of the Forums, just ship the item back if you have doubts.

If I get no good offers soon, I'll go the ol' auction route. Yuck.

Please help me get to Iceland! Buy my most precious things!   One last hint: I really hope to get at least $1000 TOTAL for the TWO items. You pricehawks let me know if that's dreaming...

Cheers,
Philip Sharp
