Galaga 90 - 99 cents
Final Lap Twin - 99 cents
Loom - $12.52
Devils Crush - $15.53
Splatterhouse - $22.72

ok, I gotta defend myself so you guys know I'm not a dummy. I was hacking back when hackers had integrity, I was a white hat. Things have changed though. I know all about spoof emails, nigerian scams and so on. The thing was this wasnt an email, it came through the ebay messages system. I just have it set so messages are emailed to me. I now know it didnt actually come from that ebay member, his account was compromised and they used it to send me the message. Just as they used mine to email other people. Thats what I mean about it being rather intricate. When someone does click on the link, not only do they get access to the auction they also have a new way to mail thier message to more members.

I wasn't able to email the bidders because when ebay finally did reinstate the auction the bidders list was gone. I was locked out before that so no way to get to it. It's not doing bad though, it's back up to $255 and not over until sunday night. Funny, I don't recognize any of the bidders as being the same from the first auction. Guess there are a lot of people looking for turbos!

By the way, I know a lot of people are looking for the turbo express, When I was searching for my auction last night I noticed there was one on there. It was pretty high priced though.

yeah I guess I did get lucky. Didn't feel like it when I got the email calling me a b**ch though. Thats the worst thing is the people who bid or were watching won't have the trust in me to bid again on the relisted auction. There was a guy in Austria who really wanted it and emailed me for permission to bid (I had said U.S. only) and I was kinda hoping he'd win it just cause it would be cool to know my turbo was there and rather unique in its new surroundings. he was the high bidder when all this happened. Hes the one that tipped me off by sending me the questionable email and he also said as much as he wants it he just doesnt trust this auction anymore. I can't say I blame him.

So has this spoof been around awhile? Seemed rather intricate to me and I consider myself pretty up on all that stuff, never been fooled before.

The auction for my turbo duo was to be over tonight. It stood at $313.00! Then I got a question/email from someone asking if my item was the same as another one and they gave me a link. It was an ebay.stores link so I thought it was all cool. I logged in but there was no item. Didn't think much about it.

Then all of a sudden all the bids on the auction were canceled down to $30.00!! I didnt know what was going on! Except the new high bidder at $65 was a 0 feedback bidder, made me wonder. I recieved an email from one of my bidders that said he had recieved an offer from me to sell him the system for $200! Then I got emails from people answering my supposed inquireries about if their item was the same as another and providing a link. I warned them as fast as I could what I thought was happening and then contacted ebay.

About that time they TKOd my account! I was glad except for the fact i couldnt cancel the auction. I finally talked with livesupport who canceled the auction for me. They told me it had been accessed around 3pm and the person sent out a lot of emails through the email forwarding system! So if you were a bidder on any of my auctions and recieved an email from me today, it was not from me!!!

The person approached all my duo bidders and offered the system at $200, they also sent second chance offers to the runners up on my games from last week. If you got one of these offers please do not go for it! All the games were sold and except for one they have been paid for and shipped. The system will be going back on auction so any offers to sell it off of ebay are not from me.

I think all is secure now and am checking all my paypal and bank info. As soon as I am sure I will put the system back up. I am sorry for any problems this caused anyone. I hope no one fell for this guys tricks. By the way thanks to a bidder that he emailed we do know his email addy. it's rspowersell@aim.com any emails from that addy should be ignored, or better yet mailbombed :)

Thanks for understanding and be careful out there, this spoof is a tricky one. I thought I'd never get caught by one, guess I should never say never!

Quote from: turbo D on 06/22/2007, 05:58 AMIts true, anybody who bids early never wins the items. By the way, how bout a link to them?
I guess it's allowed then? If not mods feel free to delete

Quote from: turbo D on 06/19/2007, 09:24 PMDon't worry about starting them at .99, items always get what they are worth or maybe even more  :)
I dunno, they're still sitting at .99 some with no bids. 10 watchers on splatterhouse but only 1 or 2 on the others. Oh well i get what I get :)

Quote from: Seldane on 06/19/2007, 07:57 PMYou can probably get 200 dollars or more for the console.
That would be sweet!

Well I made the decision to sell. Money is needed more then games right now (I know, blasphamy right, sorry) I don't want to try and rip anyone off on them so I started them each at .99 the bidders will determine the sell price.

I have to wait on the system a day or two because it seems the controller wasn't in the box. I am assuming its in my box of accesories which is in my storage space so as soon as I get it that will be listed as well. Also at .99 to start.

Thanks to everyone for their opinions and suggestions. I really appriciate it!

Thanks for replying! I don't have the cardboard package. I didnt even remember they came in cardboard packaging. They are in the original CD cases and have the instruction books with them. The books are in great condition as I wasn't much on reading instructions :)

I swear, now that I've takn it out I'm not sure I can bring myself to sell it! LOL What a great system this was!

Hi, I'm new in these parts. I'm not really a gamer, I was but I'm old school. I was around when the Pong arcade machines arrived on the scene and were unlike anything we'd ever seen! I had an atari2600 and then 5200, nintindo and then came the Turbo Duo. I remember the excitement of it, Getting my $300 presale ticket at TRU and being one of the few who actually bought the system. I also remember the lack of new games and such.

After the Duo something happened, not sure if I grew up or if there was just nothing new and different or what but gaming kind of lost intrest for me. I kept my Duo though and every couple years would take it out to reminice :) And I still enjoy it. I like it better then the new systems, I guess I'm just old school.

But the time has come. I'm moving and need to get rid of everything I can so I have bare minimum to move. I actually didnt realize there were others who loved this little machine as much as me. Nor did I realize there was a demand for the machine and the games. I did some net searching and thats how I found your forum. I've been reading a lot and really enjoyed the trip back, so thanks.

Now I have a question, if I sell my machine and games am I better off (meaning getting more $$) by selling as a lot or should I sell the machine in one auction and then each game seperate? The console is in great condition, plugged it up to try and it works great, has some shelf wear but not bad. Still have the original packing and box and I think all the documentation that came with it. I did notice mention on this site of a magazine coming with it and I don't believe I have that. I've got the ninja spirit card and booklet and the bonk.revenge/gate cd and the Ys I&II cd which should of course go with it. All cables and the controller are present.

The games I have (besides the ones with the console) are,Devils Crush, Galaga '90, Final Lap Twin (loved that game!), Loom and Splatterhouse. So I know it's all a matter of opinion but which way do you guys think I'd be best off selling them? Thanks for your help!

By the way it was really great to see a community dedicated to the turbo systems! I'm really glad there are still people out there who appriciate them! I sure wish NEC had done a better job at promotion, we might be looking at lines of people waiting at walmart for days to get the new TG10 instead of PS3 :) Keep the legend alive!
