Localization Legend "Supper the Subtitler" has "joined the club" in being targeted for CD-pressings by bootleg master Tobias/PCEWorks! His projects like Private Eyedol, Galaxy Fräulein Yuna 1 & 2, etc. are now being sold on Chinese factory-pressed CDROMs...

Hehe, thx :)
Jepp, definitely not the nicest one, but it was shipped from germany, so i don't had to pay much shipping costs. Overall it was about $200 for the computer and $10 for shipping.
Actually i only own Battle Chess for it. But i hope to have more games for it soon :) I didn't bought games for it before, cause first i wanted to test the computer itself before i buy any games. Also i had to build an adapter to connect the X68k to the VGA monitor. And as you can see, it works, so now i'm on the "quest for games" ;)

Well ... i searched oo eBay for "Wondermega" and found this machine. The console itself is not so special ... but the price: about $70
But absolutely without warranty: Someone soldered out the power connector, so i have to check if the console works. But anyway ... a good price, even if i have to repair it :)

I also got a PC-FX. I bought it together with the game Angelique Special. Actually i own 3 games (Angelique Special, Battle Heat and Langrisser FX), another game is on its way (Farland Story FX), so the collection is still growing :)

We had a large fleamarket today in town. Here what i bought:

/fleamarketke9.jpg
/toughbook1vj4.jpg
/toughbook2rn9.jpg

Also the power supplies for laptop and game gear, Galaga '91 and Ninja Gaiden for Game Gear (carts only).

The laptop is a Panasonic Toughbook CF-71 with a PII 300, 128MB RAM and 6GB HDD. Bought it for 35 EUR (about $50) :)

Oh yes, eBay becomes more and more a platform only for professional sellers, kicking all hobby-sellers in the butt
For me it would be nice if you offer your games here in the forum, but better ask Aaron if it's a problem for him. As i wrote before, i only made good experience with you and your eBay-shop, so i would also buy from you outside of eBay.

I also have another question to you: You wrote that you have bleached pc engine-shells. Do you also sell it separately ? Because i have a white pc engine that looks if it was built from 3 junk-consoles with marks from a soldering-iron all over the shell. i call it "my little scratchy", but a bleached shell for it would be really nice
#14
Yes, i also bought very often from pcenginesales. A great seller with fast shipping to germany. Two thumbs up :)

No problem. I asked at imagine if it's possible that i buy the issue with the delivery address in japan. I think that will be no problem, so when i get a positive answer from imagine you can send me a PM with your address data so i can order this issue for you.

OK, back to topic:
The article contains 8 pages of the PC-FX retroinspection, 6 with the history, the interview and an overview of the hardware. Also some screenshots and nice photos of the hardware.
The last 2 pages contain the "perfect ten games". It's an overview of the 10 best games of the system, including screenshots and a short description of all of them.
The games are:

- Battle Heat
- Chip Chan Kick!
- Der Langrisser FX
- Kishin Doji Zenki: Vajura Fight
- Tyoushin Heiki Zeroigar
- Farland Story FX
- Last Imperial Prince
- Tengai Makyou: Karakuri Kakutoden
- Fire Woman Matoigumi
- Dragon Knight 4

What i miss in this PC-FX retroinspection is the page with the mini-screenshots of about 100 games. OK, for the PC-FX they could only show 62 games, but this 2 pages are completely missing.

Beside the 2 screenshot-pages it's a typical retroinspection of the Retro Gamer. I always love to read this section in this magazine :)
Btw.: Issue 51 of Retro Gamer contained an article about the PC Engine GT, this was also nice to read :)

AFAIK the imagine-shop ships the magazines worldwide at http://www.retrogamer.net or directly at http://www.imagineshop.co.uk. When you order a magazine you can choose between UK, EU and Outside-EU. When you enter the delivery address you can also choose between different countries. I haven't tried japan, but if it doen't work i can order a copy for you and send it to japan, no problem.

So, yesterday i read the article about the PC-FX. It's a very nice article, including the history of the machine, what was planned first (the Tetsujin with 3D-ability and a 3D-star soldier), why this plans were cancelled and why it never sells as goog as the other 32Bit-consoles. It contained an interview with Aaron, complete with a link to the PC-FX-section of this site, and the Perfect 10 Games, like in the other retroinspections of this magazine. Aaron also shot the photos of the article, all very well made with many details of the hard- and software.
Overall worth to read with informations that were new to me. If you can grab a copy of the magazine, get it while stock lasts :) Maybe Aaron can offer it in the pcenginefx-outlet (like issue no. 40) ?

One of this nice babies:

And the best of all is the proce: about $47, shipped about $57 :D

The seller wrote that he don't get the XRGB running on his monitor, no picture. Maybe he should have tried to reset this device. After a reset it creates beautiful pictures on my LCD

Hi there,

maybe it's interesting for you, in the latest issue of the UK-magazine "Retro Gamer" there is an article about the PC-FX. I ordered an issue, hope it will arrive in the next 2 weeks. If you are interested in this magazine, they also send it to locations outside europe :)

Not today, but on monday i got my US-TG16 :) Before i only had japanese systems, now i can also play US-titles :)
Actually my only US-hucard is the system card 3.0 (good for testing, bad gor gaming  ), but Neutopia is on its way and will arrive next week.
I bought the TG16 as a naked system, w/o ac-adapter and pad, but with RGB-mod. The ac-adapter is no problem, i use the adapter from my megadrive. So the only thing i actually need is a pad. Fortunally a dealer here in germany sells pads new and boxed for 15 Euro. So soon i can enjoy all the US-games (and hope, that someone sells a US magical chase for under $20   )

Hey Rover,

first of all congrats to your new family member :) I'm curious when it's the first time she says "PC-Engine" or "Turbo Grafx"

Sure, the bad thing is that actually you have such a trouble. I really hope that you find the people who cause this trouble to you and let them pay for that

I hope that everything will turn ok to you, so you and your family can enjoy your new baby :)

Hi there,

actually i only own japanese pc-engines. So i think about buying a turbografx, so i also can play us-releases. Here in germany it's not hard to find a turbo grafx ... but only the pal-machines that run only in 50hz. So this would slow down the games. US-machines are harder to find. When they are shipped to germany, then at a horrible shipping fee.
Do anyone know if this pal-machines can be modded, so they run at full speed ? So i could buy a pal-machine and run all the games in full speed :)

Greetings
Tom

Hmm, on eBay there is one mint copy:

*klick*

Must it be in mint condition or may it also be a loose card ?

Thank you for this nice welcome  :D Yes, the shoutbox is a great feature, it can really make addictive ;)

Oh, and because of Tatsujin: He is also a user in one of our german boards. And you can guess where he is most active: In the pc-engine section ;)

Off-Topic / Hello :-)
05/09/2008, 08:45 AM
Hi,

some of you know me already from the shoutbox, so i thought it's time to introduce myself :)

My name is Thomas, i am 38 years old and from germany (so please apologize that my English isn't perfect ;) ).
My gaming-fever began when my family visited my uncle. OK, normally the visits were boring ;) . But this time he had a little nice machine under his TV. "That's tennis" he said. Oooookkkk, tennis ... before this time i thought tennis is a game for 2 people with rackets in their hands and balls in the air, but not a strange looking machine under a TV. "Here, i will show you how to play it". And so, with a paddle in my hand and a smile on my face my gaming fever began ;)

In the next years i also got a pong-clone, my friends got ataris, colecos and all the stuff that made the 80s a great age. Then the homecomputers came, the "old-next-gen"-Consoles, the "new-next-gen"-consoles up to the "newest-next-gen"-consoles like the PS3 and xbox360. Every time a new console came out soon or later i bought one and had fun with it. But i also hadn't the heart to sell other consoles. Also there were always people who gave away their old consoles, as a gift or for a small amount, and there were also the fleamarkets in the town. So i actually own about 75-80 consoles (depending on the term "what is a console" ... is a barcode-battler a console or a toy ?). So you can call me a collector, but not in the "usual term". I buy games and consoles to play with them, not to have it complete and sealed in a showcase. I like to invite people to play games with them, also to see that they also fascinated by old machines or don't even knew this consoles. So i am more a gamer than a collector :)

Maybe actually you think "You are in a Turbo/PCE-Forum, so what about this consoles ?" OK, you're right ;)

When people told me "oh, so much consoles" i always said "yes, but one line is missing ... the pc-engines". I was always fascinated by this machine, but never got one. Also it had no officially release in germany (even not the PAL-TurboGrafx), so also no one gave away this machine. So instead i bought a sega megadrive (or, in the u.s., a sega genesis) and had (and actually have) a lot of fun with it. But the pc-engine was always in my mind.

Then, at the 1st of march, my girlfriend and me visited a retro fair. And their i saw it ... the pc-engine, complete with IFU30 and CDROM2. I began to sweat, walked around, saw it again, walked around again, but finally the desire for this machine won ... and with a smile on my face and an empty wallet i left the retro fair. This was the beginning of a great love story in my console history ;)

Soon after i bought the pce i found this forum. Here i got many tips around the pce and the games. Also i read that one gear in the cdrom2 easily breaks and for gaming it's better to buy a duo. So i bought a duo-r. Also (thanks to ebay) i also got a second pce (with many scratches) and my "all-time-dream-handheld", the GT. Also i placed a "lucky bid" on a pc-fx and, hey, i won this auction :) So the only thing i actually miss is a machine that also plays the US-HU-cards. But hmmm, let's look, hmm, there is eBay ...hmmm ... ;)

But why the PCE ? What is so special about this machine ?
For me, first it's the size and the design of the machines. They look so good and i also like the small size of the original pc-engine. And then the software. I like shooters and the pc-e is the ultimate machine for shooters. But most of them i like the style of the pc-e games. The colors, the look of them ... hard to describe, but i absolutely like how this games look.

OK, once again apologize my English ;) Anyway I hope you understand what i wanted to say ;)

Greetings from Germany
Tom
