12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

I found the auction for the Duo. Seems he misled you by construing the actually ailments of the system. He stated:
"This is possibly a laser eye problem but I have no idea. I do not have the knowledge or time to work on this."

And then went on to state:
"This auction will include an extra laser eye part. This could be a possible easy fix for the winning bidder!

He basically gave false hope to whoever the buyer might have been my describing it as a laser issue and making the claim of having an all in one fix by including the laser assembly. At the same time, he tried to distance himself from any sort of responsibility.

I remember telling the guy, to whom I traded the Duo, about the capacitators being the likely issue. I was going off of information I received in this thread as well:

I'll pm you the link his GTZ user page.

I was the owner who had sent this Duo to nat. I sold it a few months after having him take a chance at repairing it to a guy named Hobie, at GTZ.

I'm pretty upset that Hobie flipped it around on Ebay like this. He seemed to do it rather quickly, to boot. I'm not sure what the auction stated or how well you were informed, but it seems that he wasn't entirely open with you.

His actions are reflecting on me, in a direct yet roundabout way. Sorry this happened to you, and I hope nat can aid you in the repair.

Hello,

I have recently acquired a Duo, of which I knew before hand would arrive partially working. I was eager to jump on the opportunity as I figured I could get things working again. Errm..

When I received it, I attempted to run a CD-game. The drive, of course, didn't spin. Therefore, I attempted to adjust the POT screw-like-thing. When all of my tinkering failed, I decided I would purchase a new HOP-M3 laser pickup.

The new laser arrived today, much to the dismay of me finding that I could not garner its workings either. The drive still doesn't spin, nor make any movements/noises. I adjusted the POT screw--nothing.

I cannot physically push the lens to any point either. In fact, I am only able to reposition the thing by spinning the gear-like structure attached to the motor. Shall'st I give it a good lubing?

Also when altering the POT screw, I left the console lid off less the torx screws. I made sure to turn the console off for each  POT rotation (as I wasn't sure it would be advisable do alter it when the lens was in practice).

What I is be do?

I am thinking of opting for entering my Duo in the repair service market of whomever would wish to take it on. (My apologies if my posts comes as entirely redundant, etc).

Thanks,
Chico

Received mine today. Extremely fast turn around shipping, excellent packaging and precise item descriptions yielded a wonderful experience.
