@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Gotta admit the shooters which i've played on the PC Engine have been ace. Gunhed.Super Star Soldier, Parodius, you cant fault them. And I know i've only scratched the very tip of the PCE shooter iceberg.
Shooters of the early nineties are probably my faveroute, not just for the PCE, but stuff like the thunder force and (lol know there on PCE too) hellfire and zerowing series on MD. And Axelay and Super Aleste for SNES.
Personally I liked Ikaruga, the co-op mode especially. And Gradius 5 seems good aswell. But they are about the only recent(ish) ones I like.
They do say the saturn is a bit of a shooter powerhouse though.

Parodius Da is one of my faves (not that i have much!)
I own Sexy Parodius on the Saturn and I just seem to spend more time on the the PC Engine Parodius Da
It feel like there more of a game there somehow. Maybe something to do with the difficulty curve or summin.
Either way, that game kicks ass. Looks stunning too in my opinion.

That does look like a nice bit of kit, with the RGB boosting. Shame you say there are few of them about though.
It would look pretty on my CoreGrafx 1 too.

lol, nice one guys, thanks for all the welcomes.
I will have to look out for the completely nutty ones and other programs

I'm still waiting on SSS, but will bare in mind it wont be easy. Still I need to improve my Shmp skills so hopefully SSS will force me to get better.
Thanks for the info on your Spriggan linky (Fantastic site u have there BTW). At sum point I will have to pick up a CD ROM attachment. Not just for Spriggan of course, but it appears a lot of cracking PC Engines games came out on CD. At the moment I'm just gonna concentrate on HU cards for a bit. I imagine when I'm ready to buy a CD ROM unit I'll probably ask u guys for advice if that's cool

Hehe, thanks for the replies.
Yeah Son Son 2 is really growing on me and man i luv that music. When i 1st picked it up i couldn't even do the first level  but I can get bit further now. To the world 4 boss i think. I'm sure i can do better though. In fact i might have another crack at it now after i write this  I hear the 3 bosses on the next stage is gonna be a bitch though.

lol, that's awesome news about Super Star Soldier. I've heard many people say its a classic. And as for Gunhed, what a game. It was the 1st game i got with my PC Engine. Proper good fun. I can get too the boss rush at the end and i know i can beat it with time. To be fair I loved Super Aleste, you can see the similarities in there  :)

Hi all

I've been lurking around this site for a bit now and figured i should probably say hello

I picked up a Core Grafx system about 2 months ago and have since collected about 10 games for it. My faves at the moment are Gunhed and Parodoius (which i think looks stunning too!). Such quality shooters. And son son 2 and pc kid are class too, although i haven't yet managed to complete 1 of these games!  hehe, i am getting closer though.
I got super star soldier coming in the post which I'm very looking forward too.

Even though my main current gen console is a 360, i got a lot of luv for the 8 and 16 bit consoles. It's something about the colorful imaginative games and often arcade like feel to them which u don't really get anymore. I'm also a big Megadrive fan with around 60 boxed games and a recently modded console (my 1st successful mod  ) to play them imports.

oh yeah, this is a bit cheeky as its not my auction but check this out
