I have a second copy of Ys III that isn't in the greatest condition but played fine while I played it. I was thinking that I could just donate it to the community so if there was anyone that just wanted to play it, they could keep it until it was complete and then on to the next person on the list. I could ship it to the first person and then it would be that persons responsibility to get it to the next and so forth. We could use this thread to track it. Any interest?

When I bite the dust my stuff goes to my daughter. She might only be six, but she has enjoyed looking for games with me and plays retro much more than new gen. When I was in 5th grade my best friends father worked for NEC here in Massachusetts. My friend was obviously the first of the group of us to have it, but his dad showed us a pricing list that he could get the systems and games for. I asked my mom (I love you mom!) to get me a system and she did because it was better than buying NES games for their retail prices. All of my games came right from his dad and ranged in prices from $10-$20 for the employees, so I had the opportunity to get whatever was coming out. The best day was when I got Splatterhouse and Ninja Spirit in the same order. It was fucking amazing playing those two back to back! Unfortunately his parents ended up getting divorced and he moved to Pennsylvania and I haven't heard or seen him since. Anyhow, I've loved the system ever since!

Seriously, you guys?  According to all of you, is there any LEGITIMATE reason to want to buy the more sought-after Turbo titles?  Can anyone come here and ask to buy something that's worth any money with getting drummed out of town?  He offers $200, so he must be some asshole who needs everything right now, blah blah blah.  But if he had offered less, or asked for a "good deal" then you guys would be jumping on his ass for low-balling the community.  In the mean time, guys like this, or like that MooseMan dude could turn out to be great members of the community if you guys didn't get the torches and pitchforks out every time someone wanted to buy anything but dirt commons and PCE hueys.

Now I have found some good games cheap, but I've also paid some high prices. Never bought a game for more that a few hundred, this was a once in a lifetime thing. 3) Play all of the other games the PC Engine has to offer, because Magical Chase is at the middle of the list of "shit you should play sometime soon"

It's cool. I did order the PCE Cotton because I heard that all you have to do is press the select button at the main menu and it switches to English text which I think is great!

I'm writing to you because I have been in your shoes. I know you meant no offense by your presence here or your enquiry as to the acquisition of the "white whale", if you will. For some reason, or no reason, you have found yourself in the cross hairs of many prominent individuals in this community. You didn't intend for this to happen, but you're no pushover so you're not going to let this go unchecked.

You are justified in your desire to defend your desire to possess Magical Chase. I envy your disposable income, and I'm certain you are something akin to a rocket surgeon. I am, too, but all of my millions were wrapped up in the development of the Magical Chaise. Perhaps you saw it a few posts up? It is still for sale.

Anyway, i just wanted to let you know that the very people who are attacking you are awesome guys. If you enjoy gaming more than collecting, you and they will get along. I enjoy both, but have the resources for neither (my time and trust were donated to aids research and time travel). The advice you are receiving, nay, being force fed... like it or not, is not going to change. A $5k complete magical chase is possible. But pursuing the hunt here will not be productive. I don't personally fault you for trying. This forum has its own set of social norms that don't exactly come intuitively to many (myself included).

Just stick around, obey, and find Magical Chase some other day. We will celebrate your fortune on that day, because we'll all be buds by then. Or not. Choose your own adventure, y via condios, amigo.

That's fine, but again I'll say that you are on a fool's errand here.  As has already been stated, the Turbo market has gone crazy because people like you are willing to pay whatever because you "need" these games.  Just about all of us here maintain game libraries because we love old games, not because we collect them like stamps.  Because when they game becomes that valuable, it's no longer practical to spend the money when all you want to do is play it.  Especially when it's Japanese counterpart is so much cheaper.  Or you could just buy a Turbo Everdrive, which would allow you to play it (in English) while still having the Japanese version to fill the hole in your collection.  So anyone who is willing to spend $5k on a game is either:

A: Filthy Rich.
B: Incredibly irresponsible.
C: Speculating.

Unless you're "A", you aren't going to get much play here.  As has already been pointed out to you, we tend to resent people like you for the reason that I and others have already stated.  You would be better off taking your request somewhere like the Neo-Geo forums, or just wait until one pops up on eBay.

I can respect that. Turbo/PCE are my favorite consoles and I would truthfully rather be around here with the people that love the system as well .
