I have traded with Syphic in the past and have nothing but good things to say about our trade.  He has a TON of Turbo stuff and chances are he may already have other copies of the games he has listed.  I know I wouldn't have a problem with selling a sealed copy of a game if I already had a nice boxed copy.

Man, I have to order some of these to replace some of my sleeves that have that creepy yellow look and sticky feel to them.

Does anybody make end labels for PCE games?  I remember buying a set of US Turbo labels a couple of years ago but I was wondering if anybody did the same thing for PCE games?

It was indeed the 7805 Regulators.  My local Radio Shack stocked them so I just picked a couple up for a grand total of $3.98.  5 minutes with the soldering iron and the Duo-R is up and running!  Thanks so much guys!  I seriously can't wait to play my CD games that have been sitting around for years.....see ya.

If it is those even I can find them being attached to two huge heat sinks.  :D

A broken trace can't be seen with the naked eye correct?  I wonder if temperature changes from the flight over combined with being bumped around caused this.

Words can't express how much I would appreciate that!  Let me know what you find out and I would gladly ship it out to you for a repair.  I am getting better about being able to repair stuff myself but I am pretty much useless when it comes to troubleshooting.  I am more used to doing a "order this part and solder it here" kind of fix so this has me clueless.  Assuming the seller was telling the truth about it working then I guess it would have to be some kind of damage during the shipment so maybe something got bumped the wrong way and just needs to be resoldered.

Its just so frustrating!  I love the PC Engine and Turbo Grafx but I swear to god I am being punished everyday for selling my perfectly working US Duo in the late 90's.  At least my US Duo plays Hu's fine, the Duo R is pretty much a paperweight for now.

After replacing every cap and the laser in my US Duo and still not getting it to read any discs I decided I would just end my problems and finally get a Duo-R.  I found a nice bundle with a multi tap and 6 button controller.  It looks great and has very little to no yellowing.  It arrived today and I get out my stack of CD games that have been collecting dust for years and hook the system to my favorite old CRT gaming TV.  I threw in Lords of Thunder, flipped the on switch and................nothing.  The screen flashes for a fraction of a second then black.  I have tried a new AV cable, different TV, Hu Cards, Discs and still nothing.

I am really at a loss for words here.  Combine the amount I spent on caps and the laser for my US Duo and the cost of importing a Duo-R and I have some serious money invested and I still am not any closer to playing CD games than I was 10 years ago.  I have no idea what to do.  Do I ship it back for $80, find somebody to fix it for who knows how much, or just buy another one investing another $200?

Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong with the Duo R?

The site is awesome.  Great job and thanks!  One request, can you post a pic of all the games together?  I just want to see what all of those games look like on a shelf, :D

Before playing Demons Souls make sure you have an extra controller available.  You will be smashing the first controller after your first few hours playing the game.  I have read about DS on many fourms and on every forum there is always somebody who tells you how easy it is.  I am here to tell you that it is NOT easy.  That being said it is a great game, I just think it would really benefit from a selectable difficulty.

Pad was received super fast, thanks!

Less disgusted.  The Express is fixed, 4 audio caps and 1 video cap and it should be good to go. 8-[  The Duo will be the next project.

What really kills me is that about 5 years ago I had a perfectly working Duo and Express.  I have learned a hard lesson about selling off my game collection.  It will cost you 2x the amount to get it back, and you will want it back so just don't sell it in the first place.  I really don't miss things like the 3Do, Cdi, Jaguar, but the Turbo, Genesis, Snes, Nes were all greatly missed.

Thanks guys.  I am starting with the express.  It was really hot and humid out yesterday and I powered it on and the screen worked.  After turning on the AC in my apartment I tried it again and the screed didn't work.  I took it apart and heated up the cap that has been identified as the culprit with a heat gun, it started working again.  That should be an easy enough fix.  I also tried the Duo again yesterday and it worked too, no high pitched noises.  So both systems are far from dead they are just giving me the early warning signs.

Console Repair/Mod Center / Disgusted

After having been out of the Turbo scene for a while I recently decided to jump back in.  l already own a TG16 with about 20 games so I thought a Duo and an Express would complement it nicely.  I purchased a "working" Duo and Express on Ebay a few weeks back.  The Express had the standard weak audio as noted in the description but the Duo was to work fine.  About a week after getting them the screen on the Express went, it is only backlit with sound.  I didn't worry too much about it hoping to try the cap swap in the future.  The Duo was working fine aside from losing 1 audio channel after it warmed up.  Today I go to play Lords of Thunder which I just got in the mail and the Duo only makes a high pitched noise when there is a disc inside, then it tells me to set a disc.  Needless to say I am sick over this since I spent a decent amount on the two together.  Any suggestions on what I should do?
