2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

lol, still funny, but fuck man, just sell that shit.
Actually, I just updated the page. 50% is going to the pediatric center of my local hospital.

My charitable donations usually involve an Amazon wishlist of various hospitals around the country. Might as well use some scratch from this to help some kids.

See, I'm not actually a bad person. An asshole, maybe.

Everyone done?

I'd hate to interrupt anyone.

Jesus h fucking christ being raped by an otter with an eyepatch. What in the ever-loving fuck-shit was that all about?

Nod and salute to the guys sticking up for me. Everyone else can eat a dick.

Now who wants to buy my fucking paperweight?

I don't think anyone here is a stranger to odd Japanese hardware.

Sounds like it's not for you, but don't threadcrap calling it a paperweight.
Come down off your high horse.  Esteban and Elmer aren't 100% ignorant of what it is; they were asking for additional information, but I guess you can't be bothered to oblige.  Thanks for being such a standup, helpful member of the community, and pimping your ebay wares here.... in the wrong subforum.

Honestly, it will be a paperweight for 99% of prospective buyers.  Even the 'normal' PC-FX is little more than a conversation piece for many owners, at least once they've sampled a few games and been scared off by the strong gaijin protection.
You know what, fuck it.

Delete the thread. What a bunch of fucking little girls.

Quote from: BTD on 10/15/2017, 08:35 AMLuke Morse does a great YouTube video on it :
It's a nice un-boxing video that shows the package contents, but he's not very accurate on the actual details, i.e. it really wasn't a popular board at all.

When I was looking a couple of years ago, they weren't that uncommon on Yahoo Japan, even in brand-new condition (IIRC there was a large stock of unsold units).

The specs on the box show the minimum specs for the PC-9801/PC-9821 computer that you plug it into, for a start.

So ... you need a late-generation Japanese NEC PC-9801, or a PC-9821 computer (not an IBM PC).

Unless you've got one of those, which are pretty darned expensive in the USA, it's just a big paper-weight.

The PC-FXGA DOS/V (green box) is the ISA-card version of the same thing that plugs into an old IBM PC-compatible (with approx the same specs).

This is pretty damn cool if I do say so myself.

I imagine most of you guys know what this is.

Turn your PC-98 computer into a PCFX.

This has the ability and software to create your own pcfx games.

$150

Just like the title says. Recently bought a "broken" system that wouldn't turn on. Replaced the power supply caps and it's as good as new.

Really need to test the disk drive as well. Replaced the drive belt and I don't know if it's working.

Easy buddy. He was just trying to be nice to me, which I appreciate.

Side note: It's not like I didn't have any references. We don't all sit on forums all day just to post...

My first go through in college i was a philosophy and religion major and I've had this discussion a billion times, but I don't want to talk. Just post some funny pics that are related.

Here is a complete list of everything neo geo CD that I own that I will be selling as a bundle only:

-Japanese toploading neo geo CD unit with power cable, and composite cables.
This has been region modded with a switch and I replaced the ugly red LED with a uber-sweet blue one.

If this action looks oddly familiar, it's because Oldschoolgamer sold this to me not long ago. The only reason I'm getting rid of it is that I fell in love with all the games and decided to consolize an MVS board. That being said, I could use the money for some new MVS goodies.

I'll get some picks up later in the day.

-Neo Geo CD pad(finicky)
-Neo geo AES original pad
-Art of Fighting 2 OST
-Art of Fighting 2-JP
-Puzzle Bobble(scratched up but works great)-US
-Windjammers-JP
-Fatal Fury 3-US
-Real Bout-JP
-King of Fighters 94-JP
-King of Fighters 95-JP
-King of Fighters 96-JP
-King of Fighters 97-JP
-Samurai Spirits-JP
-Samurai Spirits 2-JP
-Samurai Spirits 2-JP
-Samurai Spirits 3-JP
-Samurai Spirits 4-JP
-Samurai Spirits RPG-JP
-Metal Slug 2(includes spine card)-JP
-Sonic Wings 2-JP
-Sonic Wings 3-JP
-Baseball Stars 2-JP
-Ghost Pilots-JP
-World Heroes Perfect-JP
-Real Bout Special-JP

EDIT- I'll also do cash/trade combos for Dreamcast, Saturn, and PC engine SHMUPS or arcade sticks. I'm also interested in LE systems (hello kitty dreamcast, dev saturn, etc.) Also interested in TG-16 and Turbo express. In addition I'm also looking for a JVC Xeye.

I am asking $300+shipping on the whole thing.

General Gaming / Japanese HELP!
01/25/2009, 08:46 PM
Ok, so I'm currently playing Super Real Mahjong P V for Saturn. I'm actually getting good enough to win a lot of the time  . My problem is, in the options menu- there's some diff options and I'd like to know what they meant. Japanese dictionaries don't seem to make any sense, at least not in line with it being a game. This is what the screen looks like.

Level****************** 1,2,3,etc

Fuku *********************** Gives option of Kiru or Kinai

Kuitan ********************** Gives option of Ari or Nashi

Sound Test

etc....

Here's some pics:

any help would be greatly appreciated!

sorry it's gone- everything is up to date

I need the  74157 IC chip off the board- can I have it?
#23
Yeah I hear ya Duo. I was just looking for something a bit more streamlined and with the PCB board I had unlimited switch options. With the 8PDT switch I have a push button or a if I'm lucky I may be able to find a slide switch. If I go with the push button, I think i'll mount it inside the hu-card slot on the side so you'll only see it when the little flap is opened.
#24
WOW- that's beautiful- and about 100 times easier than the other way to do it! Although- i think i'll cut the pins in half instead of desoldering and soldering to the pc board points. You saved the day Termis =D>. Now to find that switch in a version that isn't hideous.
#25
Yeah I saw that option as well which I'm totally cool with, the only problem is that I wouldn't know how to rig the push switch up and I'm a little nervous to create the board myself- I'm kind of an amateur with this stuff but have soldered enough in the past

edit- or with the switch would it be as simple as soldering the jpn lines to one and the us to the others? Or would i solder the board pins to one side and the cart slot pins to the others- i'm kinda confused
#26
I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for the PCB board to do a PC engine region mod seen here-http://www.multimods.com/SlotMod1.html- if anyone has one or knows where to get one please let me know. The guy who owns multimods.com isn't answering emails so I came here for help. Let me know if you're willing to part with one!
#27

Unfortunatly not boxed  But I'll find a box down the road sometime.
#29
Not at all- If I remember correctly it was around 200 shipped from Doujindance (sp?)- came with bomberman 94 and some random super CD game, hookups, controller, yada yada- I'd like a duo-r controller though as it came with a pc engine one
#30
no doubt- I've tested her out and she plays like a dream. Just have to find a composite tv or CRT monitor at this point. I'm ok with AV right now though.
#31
New here, but this is my Duo-r with RGB mod. Haven't had a chance to try out the pic quality (no tv or monitor for it.).
