2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

Yes, Good Deal Games have always in stock some copies at exactly 39.75 $ (with the magazine)
If not, contact me directly, I can send them from France. I have make enough copies in order to let available Revival Chase for a long time and to avoid speculation! ;)

esteban, just send me a message with your email and I'll send some screenshots and photos about ReVival Chase !

Just for information, the game is always available on CD, in bundle with revival magazine, directly at Good Deal Games :)

Great to see something new on PC-FX. Could be great if a complete game could be made for this underrated system! Keep up the good work Gameblabla.

I think yes, Michael has some in catalog.
If you have no reply from him since some days, don't hesitate to contact me.

For people who have bought Revival Chase (or are going to ;), here are the access codes for the two hidden shoot 'em up in this CDRom!

You can find "RT2A" a caravan shooting game with time and score attack and 2/5 min modes. It is horizontal and made by Touko!
In the password menu  you have just to tape "SHOOT"

Also, you can access to Ozma Wars, an adaptation of an old SNK arcade game (1979 ... in B&W!) with the "OZMAW" code. It is made by Bfg (the same guy who have programed Revival Chase and many Colecovision games!)

Enjoy these little bonus games and have fun! And don't forget to play Revival Chase with 4 friends ;)

Personnaly, I love bakoushou no shinkigeki, a platform game from Hudson with a great sense of humour in it.
And this game is available with a very low price :)
#7
Nice work! Thanks for sharing it with us :)

In your PCE bible, could you please add a page for our SCD game "Revival Chase"?
Here is a French page for this game and, on youtube, there is a great review. Here are the direct links:
http://revivalgames.org/parution/rev50_revivalchase.php
Too, please mention the Good Deal Games site in order to buy the game (with English Revival magazine):
http://www.gooddealgames.com/inventory/Turbografx.html
And please mention this link in order to have the French magazine with the game:
http://revivalgames.org/commande/index.php

Thanks and congrats for this great listing of all existing PCE games :)

Of course, I plan on getting one!
#10
I haven't received my pre-ordered copy ... :(

Pyramide Plunder is a really good Pac-Man like. Usually I don't really love this type of game (except of Revival Chase of course, and all Lock'n chase clones) but here, the fact that you can speed the character and other good ideas (changing bonus item, etc.) put the game at a higher level.
Perhaps some levels are too big and the radar is not very useful in the action. Realization is really good (really like tha animation and the graphics of ennemies).
#12
Glad to see that some of you really like Revival Chase and all its game modes. I think that you will appreciate the hidden shooting games too ;)
And glad to see that you not only consider the game but also the ReVival magazine. Yes, it is made by passion, and just for the pleasure of playing such cool homebrew and retro videogames!
#13
Good news: ReVival #45 is now finished! It is in the hands of the print shop and I'll received the issues in the next days. Then, I'll send all copies (and games!) to the distributors : Good Deal Games, Fury Unlimited and 16/32 Systems. So, around 20 march it could be ok for everybody.
Yes, it is not february but all we are doing is on our spare time ... I hope you understand that.
#14
Thank you Henry for the comments and happy to see that all is arrived well :)
But you cannot really compare this special French issue #50 (anniversary) with English issues. Articles will not be the same between this issue and the future English one #45. Even if this latter has 60 pages instead of 44 usually ;)
And English issues are 100% focused on homebrew gaming and not on "retro". So Hudson Soft series and Fausseté Amour are not included in the #45. Sorry for the Necmaniacs but the making-of of Revival Chase has been added :)

And I think Jungle Bros has been mentioned in a previous issue.
#15
Nick from 16/32 Systems says to me that information are on its website and he has sent a newsletter to all of his customers.
So you can also pre-order on 16/32 Systems (and of course from Good Deal Games and Fury Unlimited).
Direct link is http://sales1632.myzen.co.uk/acatalog/Revival.html#arev_2d45

Tongueman's Logic has been already reviewed and it is a great Picross game! :)
But I haven't received yet Mysterious Song ... so I am unable to review it! I hope I'll receive it soon.
#17
I think there is no problem to ship to NZ (New Zealand I suppose? ;) but of course there will be more shipping cost.
If you like, when US issue will be available (or perhaps you will like the French issue?), I'll contact you. Please just send to me an email. Thanks!

For PCEngine games on covers, no problem. I will be the case with the English issue #45 because this issue have two covers :)
Yes Insanity has been reviewed in Revival. And it has been the case of mindrec games too.
But there is no several releases on these machines you know...
Perhaps for Atlantean and Pyramide plunder ;)
#18
The correct link to his webshop is http://sales1632.myzen.co.uk/acatalog/16_32_Webshop_Enter_Here_for_16_32_Systems_Online_Shop_40.html
and it is actualized (page for revival is here : http://sales1632.myzen.co.uk/acatalog/Revival.html)

I have just emailed with Nick from 16/32 and he is ok for reselling Revival chase + Revival #45 English issue.
So, UK people, please wait for just some days to see information on the webshop of 16/32 Systems

`Thanks!

Pre-orders are opened at Good Deal Games (and will be opened soon at Fury Unlimited too), here (just after "Starcade: First Edition #1 DVD") :
http://www.gooddealgames.com/inventory/Video%20Game%20Media.html

Note that GDG seems to offer a back-issue (29 to 44): it is a real good deal ... game! ;)

Here is the official teaser. Enjoy! :)
The price is only fixed for French release (with French ReVival issue) and, for the English release (end of february) the price will be known soon and could be pre-ordered at Good Deal Games and Fury Unlimited.
#21
Yes here are really good news :)

So, for people who cannot wait (for those who have already pre-ordered, package will be shipped tomorrow probably), Revival chase + French ReVival #50 (issue with 116 pages!) cost 42 euro, shipping included form France to USA.
If you're not in a hurry, I recommend to you to wait for the next Revival English issue (with 60pages instead of 44 usually!) with which Revival Chase will be included too. The bundle will be available directly from Good Deal Games and/or Fury Unlimited (vectrex' developer). All two are very, very great support for homebrew gaming and Revival magazine ;)
We haven't fixed the price yet but it will be between 35-40 USD for the bundle.
Magazine would be accessed alone as always, but game is a part of the bundle and cannot be sold separately.

You can see the official teaser - only in French for the moment but it will be an English one with the availability of Revival English #45 - this evening (evening in France of course! ;)
I am preparing it.

Please note that the game includes French version with 50 levels and English version with less (because it exists less issues in English). So difficulty incresed quicker in the English version than the French one, and the covers of the magazines are of course different ;)

Hope 2013 will be a very good year for all PCEngine lovers in the whole world :)

Here are some photos of the game

No problem for sending to New Zealand. One day, I really loove travel to this country :)
So you have two solutions:
- buy the French ReVival #50 issue + Revival Chase SCD game and shipping cost.
- wait for the future English ReVival issue (#46) + Revival Chase SCD and shipping cost (and buy this package from GoodDealGames or Fury Unlimited or 16/32 Systems).

As you wish! Just send me a personal message.
#23
English website updated little bit with the cover of the future issue #45 and little details about its "surprise" ;)
http://revivalgames.org/welcome.php
#24
As you wish Bernie! Just contact me for shipping cost. I think price could be around 42 euro (30 + shipping to USA). And the contents of ReVival English or French is not the same.
English is 100% focused on homebrew as the French has features concerning Shoot'em up and more general retro reviews.
#25
So, Revival Chase will be available with the next English issue (#46) to come in january/february and sold by Good Deal Games and Fury Unlimited in USA (16/32 systems in UK) in bundle with the magazine (but this latter can be bought alone as usual).

If you cannot wait for the game with the English magazine, as this game is part of a bundle with the last French issue (#50) and will be available at the end of december, everybody can pre-order it this version. But the French magazine is only in French language (!) and a real bigger issue (more than 100 pages). Price is 30 euro without shipping cost. Shipping cost seem to be around 12 euro. So 42 euro could be a price.
I have to see more in details the exact price and, I'll put these informations on the English part of the website http://revivalgames.org soon, probably before the end of this week.

Happy to see people enjoy playing new PCEngine games :)

I am ok for 100 €!

Good idea!

If possible, please include multiplayer games. A game like Combat, but for 4 or 5 players, could be fantastic. Same think about a Pac-Man remake in which there is the opportunity to move two Pac-Man against 3 other players who are the ghosts!
Elevator Action, but for two players, can be addictive.
Too, I vote for Tempest in a version inspired by the 2000 on Jaguar if possible.
I think a sequel to the fantastic Shark! shark! on Intellivision could be marvellous! Perhaps by including more different game modes, multiplayer games, etc.
I love Robotron too. With two joysticks (PCE has joysticks like XE-1 pro) it could be fantastic. And a two player game could be excellent!
Centipede is a great game for the PCE if you can realize a two player game like in the 7800 version (the best!) with competition and cooperation modes: the same number of lives, a cumulated score and the fact the player who dies can play again if the other player reach a sufficient score to have an extra-life! A great idea but never see on any game...
A game like Breakout but for 4 players (in each side of the screen) like Multibriques on Atari Falcon 030 if you see what I mean.

Too, please consider saving option. I think "old" arcade games are fantastic but if there is no savings, not sure they have good replay-value. Or, at least, some codes to choose the level, the difficulty, etc.

I think it is necessary to surpass the original versions. If not, why not play the original ones on Mame or play the equivalent on Atari 2600? (a recent version of Lady Bug is fantastic on this sytem!)

To summarize, your idea of a compilation with arcade games is excellent :)

PC-FX Discussion / Re: Hunex Fighters '98

This hidden game seems to be cool but how can I use this sav file? How transfer it in the memory of the Pc-FX? Via the FX-BMP?
Or I have to burn a copy of first kiss including this sav file?

ReVival magazine (French and English issues) 100% homebrew & retrogaming

This is my first post here! I am RayXambeR from ReVival magazine (devoted to homebrew video game scene and retrogaming too! http://revivalgames.org). I have been in contact in the past with Aaron and his website is always fantastic!
So, concerning Ruruli Ra Rura I need some help. I have found the first five characters (so, the liquid guy is my last) and I don't know what to do now. I have explored (I suppose) all the places I haven't accessed before (with cracks, etc.)
I have reached a level where there is a little waterfall (by going to the right down corner of the cavern, enter in a crack and go to the left of the screen).
It is impossible to pass through it. But there is some water down. I have try with the frog: it can go in the water but can't go out! Is it "normal" or is it a bug in this game?
It could be great if someone in this forum can guide me to find the sixth character!

Many thanks!
