Is the DC offset filtered out by these chips ?I don't think this is necessarily the best RGB amp but I know it works really well, I have built and used the RGB amp using the ths7314dr chip and while that is a much smaller and simpler amp I don't find it to be nearly as effective. As for the DC offset (assuming your talking about alignment of the picture to the center of screen) I would say it is fairly perfect. I have used this amp in several NEC systems and it has yet to yield varying results, always a much brighter picture with more clarity and seems to be centered very well on the screen of choice.
I'd like to know 2 things:
1) The best transistor-based circuit that you can build yourself with spare parts (caps, resistors, 2n3904 transistors, etc.).
2) The best op-amp type circuit, fully tweaked with confidence, yadda yadda, etc. should I ever choose to buy one of these custom chips and experiment.
Quote from: guest on 10/05/2009, 02:06 PMDid you even bother to read the article linked by nectarsis? If you had, you'd have seen that the FDA found E-Cigs to contain the diethylene glycol, which is toxic (ethylene glycol is equally toxic and not the same as propylene glycol).I actually had no need to read the article, I have already read it in the past while spending about 2 weeks researching the e-cig before I made an initial purchase.
Quote from: nectarsis on 10/02/2009, 11:38 PMWow just post a link, and get a very dickish response.Sorry If I came across "dickish", and my edginess has nothing to do with my "analog" habit. I somewhat took offense to the link you posted and comment you stated about the e-cig "may not be as great as you guys think". You obviously are uneducated in what your talking about on the E-Cig and it seemed as if you were bashing my thread.
Maybe you should go back to the "analogs" may cut some of that edginess ;)
Quote from: nectarsis on 10/02/2009, 05:47 PMhttp://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm173222.htmI would prefer this not turn into an thread of arguing on whether these are safe or not....To be quite frank with you nectarsis everything in the article is a bunch of bullshit. Yes propylene glycol (used to cute the nicotine) can and is found in radiator fluid, but you also have to figure that the PG found in ratiator fluid is NOT FOOD GRADE or KOSHER. Pharmacuetical Grade PG or Vegetable Glycerin (Wiltons Glycerin) is all approved by the FDA as a safe to humans substance. They are used in Cakes, Snow Cone flavoring, Food Dies etc. etc. etc. So the FDA is simply trying to turn something around that is simply FALSE!
More than a few articticles on this. May not be as "great" as you guys think.
Quote from: blueraven on 09/30/2009, 08:41 PMHey override,
Congrats.
BTW I went cold turkey; 10 years, 2 packs a day. I stayed inside for the first three days.
Kept gallon jugs of water, and replaced the cravings with yoga and workouts. After 1 month I started running.
It leaves me with so much more money for video games...

Great to hear blueraven! My goal is not really to quit "smoking" but more or less to smoke healthier! Not to mention my girlfriend hates the way cigarettes smell and she has I guess you can say "allergy" issues when being around cigarette smoke. She is much happier with the E-Cig, since the vapor doesn't smell or contain anything harmful, it doesn't bother her to be around it. I am saving money just not as much as if I were to completely quit. Although the one advantage to the E-Cig is if I ever wanted to put down "smoking" all together I am confident that I can!Quote from: esteban on 09/30/2009, 09:10 PMOverride, congrats on finding a product that you likeThe EVO is deffinetly a winner! Another great reason why I choose to go with the EVO is the fact that they were working on marketing a manual battery for them! Which I apparently did not realize was going to be released so soon. I was on innovapor.com last night about to order some more ECOpure Krystal to make my own flavoring and when the page refreshed (@ midnight) the manual battery and matching atomizer popped up on the page! So now you can actually get the EVO with automatic and manual batteries!
In fact, based on your recommendation, I might try the Black EVOlution E-Cig.
I don't smoke (never have), but I've been trying to wean myself off of this goddamn Nicorette gum for a few years now.
Maybe the E-Cig will help me actually accomplish this.

Quote from: incrediblehark on 09/09/2009, 01:02 PMSo i replaced the pre and post op-amp caps in my duo mentioned by Dean and Duo-R (4 10uF 16V & 2 22uF 16V) and restored sound to my US duo, but the sound is sratchy, especially when cd and adpcm is playing. would this be another cap issue? there was mention of some more caps to replace (100, 1000, 470, and 220uF caps) near the amp. any ideas about the scratchiness of the audio? i dont really want to replace all of the caps, i dont feel experienced enough to do it.There could be a number of reasons as to why the audio is scratchy, read here for the cd portion of things....
Quote from: kattare on 09/01/2009, 08:33 PMOverride, I've looked at those before. I didn't want to take the chance that they were manufactured at the same time and thus have the same gear issue.Personally I think the extra $15 you would spend on getting the NEC drive, would be worth it! Thats minus probably 5 hours of work, its straight pull out and drop in, and the guys that run that business have GREAT customer service, if you got a drive that had issues with the gears etc. they most likely would refund you every penny or simply swap you drives! Im sure another reason as to why they are charging $45 is cause it also comes with the CD power supply and the CD Interface that allows it to hoook up to the PC. You may get away with it cheaper if you were to ask them for the CD portion only.
Maybe the second time won't take so long I guess... and the kss-220a is only $30.
Quote from: chojin on 09/06/2009, 01:54 PMmay as well make my first post one showing my first PCE setup, never owned nor played one until last week.. i was always snes/md back in the day and bypassed the PC-Engine..Very Nice Setup you have there! Im jealous...
so here it is
Quote from: kattare on 09/04/2009, 04:27 PMHey override... ya forgot the LaserActive w/ NEC PAC-N10. ;-)Damn right I did, LOL
I just got a PAC-N1 in the other day... gonna region mod it... have a nice push button switch on the front. It'll be sweet for someone, as these things can't take any of the usual region converters. ;-)
Quote from: guest on 09/03/2009, 12:11 PMDon't fuck with peoples minds. That's an entirely different console, not a variation.Oh well, Im sorry, I consider it in the class of PCE stuff, even though it was released as a "next gen console" to compete with the 32 bit genre. I guess it would have helped to state that info, being that its not backward compatible.
