Oh nice , so later in game , the two first dungeons had no chests and i have not even completed the second one.

Just take my remarks as advices for the future not as critics ,but i think you have understand.

French translation is really good , it doesn't really matter if it's uncomplete , any RPG fan knows english.

Another point ,again , i never played the original game ,but where are the treasure chests in dungeons ? It's fun to search for treasure chests.

All in all , for a first game it's awesome , i want to complete the game , it's a good sign.

Yes you're right Cosmic 2 has no battle background although monsters have better graphics.

Second day on the game , i've now seen one more "video" and i found it beautiful ,very good job ! 

Well i tried the game on my DUO-R and the long loadings came more often so i suppose it is more related with laser unit condition , greasing and lens condition may be.

French translation is good , villages are really nice. Finally there are very few points i "dislike" , for the next RPG please bring life to all those NPC and i would point too the music balance , sometimes too loud , more sound effects would be appreciated too , other than that ,great game ,bravo !

I've checked again , in english this time but ,i'm still wondering what this all about. The two modes "original" and "balanced" , what does this mean ? The words were well translated to french though.

Is it related to the standard quest you were talking about ? I guess not , i suppose you have to complete the game first. Please tell me the meaning of the two modes at the beginning. Thanks.

I will play the game on the DUO-R and see if those long loadings appear again or not.

Good!  You know , since i choose french language , i didn't know the meaning of the options , it was unclear , i will look the meaning in english. But if it's even better that's great.

I played a bit the game yesterday and Wow! I've been really impressed , what a work you did ! It's even better than i thought ,the game is beautiful. The intro is short but very well drawn , i also love battle backgounds , cutes characters , nice villages and the map too. Battles are short wich is a good thing but you need some levelling before the bosses , although i actually met only two bosses.Music is good although metal on some area is strange... Anyway a must have for the PC Engine that can rank in the upper average.

The bad points:

-french traduction is uncomplete but not too annoying.

-audio tracks seem sometimes too short so they oftenly loop.

-NPC are too static ,they don't even turn your direction when you talk to them,they are like statues.

-The game is missing of sound effects.

-Sometimes loadings are very long when most time they are very quick , i can't explain why , is it my Duo ? I will try with my Duo-R.

-The two bosses i encountered are too small , i wished i had seen some huge half screen beasts.


The good points:

-Very good to splendid graphics.

-Some audio tracks are pleasant.

-Nice packaging.

-french and spanish translations.

I noticed two game modes in the beginning , but i actually don't know what they mean.

Yo' Bro , 2 copies brand new sealed ,cardboard box is the same for both countries ,front sticker is different , "free poster inside" or "directives en français à l'interieur". To the back of Canadian version there's a sticker on the barcode ,this sticker is a barcode itself but not the same.

Audio tracks 6 & 7 are the problem ! Why ? I don't know... Now would someone burn the "retail"  with the "proto" 6 & 7 tracks and play again to tell me if any difference appears especially with audio(or anything else) ? Because what we finally get is the "proto" with a bad TOC and a different CUE...  Nat ?

Well that is not possible ! I obtain an error message with cdrwin :Error: invalid cuesheet command at line 1 unable to find or open file.

I will redo the data track exchange because i don't know if i had put back the "retail"'s TOC or left the "proto" one. And last test will be to exchange all of the audio tracks,at least those that show a difference,track 6&7 only.

First test : changing the TOC , i'm not doing audio tests for now(remember the audio was corrected) , i've burned a RW and it's fine with magic engine , let's go for real test !

Done ! Still no ending...

Oh! I've forgotten the basic test: just burn the "retail" myself and see...

Result: no ending too !

What should i do now ? Changing the cue file ? Is it read by the cd player or is it just read by the burner ?

Well ,next step , changing the data track , it was supposed to be the same as prototype , all i know is that they are exactly the same lenght...

Result: guess what.... again no ending...

I will try to burn different "mixes" between the 2 versions,one with the other's TOC for example , i want to know where the problem is. According to what the guy told me ,there's been no changes to the data track. May be just the fact to burn it again on another media would make it work ? This could be just the media , wich would explain why it works on a PC and not on a Duo ??? Can you please show me your TOC nat ?

Sure. Do you have time and are you equiped to burn discs ? I noticed some difference between the 2 version , 2 audio tracks are shorter on the "retail"(tracks 6 & 7 - especially track 6) , also the TOC(table of content) is slightly different , it would be interresting to burn the retail with the proto TOC just to see ,and why not also the cue file , those are just 1 byte so could be sent by e-mail. I checked the 2 data tracks ,they are same length.If you're OK to burn , use Turborip first.

Yes i was talking about this other forum members. Yet analysing things would be of interest but remain the problem : why it works fine in an emulator ??? In an emu there's no problem , why only with real hardware ??? The truth is out there...

According to some people on an other forum ,all this is just silly and no interest, i was told "play the game without skipping levels and you'll see the end".... Those people for most received the game from the same batch,i just doubt someone really has beaten the game.

The interresting thing to do now is to compare the two programs and try to find where the problem is , i remember there was a slight difference with the two TOCS , the audio is of the exact same quality,i used an analyser(PC) for that. I should check the data track and something called the cuesheet , may be we'll find a clue ?

Thanks for the info , so the ending pop up on the wii as on a PC , may be the wii acts like a PC emulator in fact. Well, having a bit of time i will try my prototype copy and see...

Test done: guess what ? The ending is there by skipping each levels , using a DUO-R ! So there is really a problem with that retail version...
