10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Asmikace you should. I consider it like every other forum sale I've had where someone else magically finds a cheaper one, not saying it can't happen. Just that it seems to be rather convenient considering the timing...  :^o I'd go for it if I weren't in the market for a Japanese one
#2
And what would the price be? And you have actual proof to back it up? Proof is more than words it would be pictures of what it had sold at. Not the Japanese one which regularly sells for 400 ish. But the actual n10. If there is no pictured, documented, current proof then I see no reason for insinuating the price is too high if it can't actually be pegged down. Because even if the price isn't what you want it at doesn't mean the value is wrong

Quote from: Opethian on 12/12/2016, 08:06 PMif it doesn't sell for $800 would you be surprised?
Not really. Pricey items are harder to sell and they take longer to find the right buyer. The ssvs mvs carts on eBay take a while, just like AES stuff etc. they need the right buyer to find them.

Quote from: guest on 12/12/2016, 03:57 PMYou should have bought that N-10 box that was up for sale a bit back, would have made this a much better package instead of having it in a S-10 box with 'NEC' written on it.
.

I actually was watching that auction but I wasn't reminded on my phone when it ended. I didn't expect to be selling this piece so soon.

Quote from: in99flames on 12/12/2016, 12:55 PMMy offer still stands
Your offer is no where near the minimum. You are welcome to try for the minimum, I realize this item is not for everyone.

i'm selling it for 800(starting bid). buy it now has to be significantly higher. I'm unsure what it will sell at but whatever it does will be fine with me. I'd honestly be surprised if it goes for as low as 800 or as high as 2k. but i do know that the last known selling price was 800

hey guys,

just posted an auction for the american turbografx pac on ebay right now. I know it's kind of a pricey item, but I'm listing it for what I got it for when I purchased it. and I'm adding insurance to it for free as well (and free shipping). Hopefully one of you guys will enjoy it.

thanks

I would like to be part of this raffle as well

Didn't notice the booster at first, I still predict that price 150, 200 at the most, but I hope no one is that crazy. I had meant no accessories that weren't included with the system (power, pad, ac)
#9
I think that will only work like that with a lot of cell phone data flying all over the place, and in reality could be much slower. Much slower.
#10
I predict it'll sell for over 150, which is plenty high for a tg-16 with no accessories or physical games. Anyone think it'll go for less than that?
#11
I know it's a dumb question, but I didn't see it on the PDF. I've never done a component mod before or wired component before, but looking at the pics it's difficult to tell. Are you just wiring each color to each component output, or are they all attached to the ground wire as well?

Thanks for your help

Darn I guess I'm a noob :(.

If I weren't I would like to enter the raffle.

That was lower than I thought it would end at. I picked up a second controller this week on eBay. It'll take 2 weeks airmail, but it was new and boxed for something like 16 or 17 shipped airmail. You guys should pick one up too. Or wait till I get mine to tell you it arrived so that it is safe to get one too.

eBay is full of crazy buy it now prices these days.
#14
I don't mind at all. I thought I got lucky till I researched here.

If you don't mind me asking how much did the auction you lost out on end at?

PC-FX Discussion / pc-fx system devaluing?
08/26/2013, 04:09 PM
Hey guys,
Brand new owner of a pc-fx. I have wanted one for a while but I remember them costing 200 at least 3 or 4 years ago. I thought I got a great deal on ebay with mine for 125, but apparently another new guy got his for like 85. Is the value going down on the hardware, or am I mistaken?

P.S. mine came with 3 games and shipping so I didn't get a bad deal

Bought 5 games from this thread this week. Awesome seller. Got them 3 days later shipping was cheap, packed well, great prices. Wish I had more money

Great seller!

i was browsing "new pc engine" on ebay and it came up for 200. it showed up as unknown on my pc engine price guide, so i got a bit more curious. and after seeing he review it looks awesome. now ill be looking for a copy as wel. just not at 200 dollars

Quote from: nat on 09/05/2010, 08:40 PMIt uses the same game engine as Air Zonk. It's very similar in gameplay in that regard, and the graphics and music have the same sort of cartoony quality. If you've played AZ, Coryoon will feel very familiar. It's a very good game, but very easy. If you are patient you can find a copy for a decent price..... Around $40 is probably the best you can hope for, but I haven't been on the market for a copy of Coryoon for a number of years so that may have changed.
thats cool to know. it was really hard to see what was happening in youtube videos, they were bit grainy so all i could see was that it was a shooter

i don't know what it is worth, the rarity, or significance of this title. I've heard it's not as great as sapphire and good at best, but would still like to know more history about this title.
#20
Actually 2 seperate ideas. I was just wondering if anyone here has an rgb modded system hooked up to any kind of xrgb. I wonder if the settings for color vary from game to game. I've only been playing dracula x. But on sapphire the settings look a bit too light.
Quote from: SignOfZeta on 09/04/2010, 05:34 AMWhat does RGB have to do with CD-Rs?

Also, the whole "CD-Rs kill lasers" hypothesis is highly dubious. At best, they may finish off a laser that was %99 dead.

Instant hard core kids think they know everything...

I'm all about authentic because I don't want cd-r's messing up my laser. I can fix things but don't like to have to my duo-rx came with a new laser, so I'm keeping it good. I also like how it looks through rgb. is it just me or do all the games have to be adjusted for rgb? I use an xrgb 2+

I checked that it was legitimate both before it was sent and after it arrived. It even came with a spine card. Honestly I'm nervous about going through the booklet or handling the disc. And I'm a bit worried about sunfade in the future. Can anyone here tell me how they take care or their rare games and store and/or display them.

Also can anyone tell me any history on this game? As far as I know its just an extremely popular late release that had a low production volume.
#23
i'm sure i'm late to his party but to make it even more offensive im pretty sure those were bought on craigslist a few weeks prior for less than 35 dollars each. i saw a posting for lots of factory sealed turbografx games around orange county at that point. i had just fixed my tg-16 at that point, and was researching a cd add-on. i looked past those games because i ended up thinking a japanese duo-rx would be the best system for me.

i thought of how people would want to buy them, but i'm a gamer first and a horrible salesman second so i didn't think twice about wasting time i didn't have. i wouldn't want a guilty conscience anyway
