I need one, have a suitable psu and other stuff. The better the condition the higher the price :) For a re-capped console I'm ready to pay top dollar. Offer me one including shipping to Finland (EU).

Quote from: fraggore on 10/14/2013, 08:16 AMopen the scart socket first have look if any of the wires have come off and are touching.
The problem is, the colors are wrong also from the standard av-socket ...

Quote from: fraggore on 10/10/2013, 03:04 PMhave you had the din socket replaced on the tg16 or is the rgb cable coming from the inside of the tg16 , only asking as it sounds like the red, green and blue might be soldered the wrong way around.
A RGB scart socket has been installed on the right side of the case. The original socket is still there. The unit has been running great for about a year after the mod, so the wires are correctly soldered (originally), but of course it could be that something has been broken loose inside the case. I haven't opened the case yet. I hope it's indeed something wrong with the wires and not the chip(s). The console works ok (I can play the games, there's sound, fo freezing), but the colors are wrong.

Today I hooked up my TG-16 (PAL, has a rgb mod to a scart socket done by a skilled friend a few years ago) and was shocked... System booted, there was sound, but colors were all wrong. It seems like yellow is red etc. Tried with another (original) av-cable/tv, same result. So it's not the scart socket, the picture is "wrong" already in the chip, right? Is there a known reason for this (something that is easily fixed) the console worked like a charm only 2 weeks ago :(

Quote from: guest on 04/25/2013, 01:37 PMYou can load a system card from the flashcart, then play the CD.
Thanks, now stupid of me not realising that option :) Works like a charm!

Is this possible? I've got a Duo and Krikzz TUrbo Everdrive, so I'd rather keep the hu-card in when I occasionally boot from cd.

Ok, thanks for the tips guys :) I think I'll go for a Duo-R and keep the spanking new TG-16 also :D Those system cards (jap ones) seem to be very cheap in Moeroshop, so if you need those be sure to check them out :)

Ok, just checked the current situation in Ebay...

I'd suffer about $200 for a Duo-R shipped to Finland :) I understood that the controller port pinout of Duo-R is the same as TG-16, but the Duo-R has a mini Din8 -port, right? I have 5 spanking new controllers for my TG-16, but does someone sell those DIN8 -> mini DIN8 -adapters? Or am I just completely lost here?

QuoteI didn't think there were any PAL games? There's Japanese and American, both NTSC. I know that there was a European Turbo Grafx sold, which you can still buy new to this day as they obviously didn't sell well, and that had an encoder chip onboard to convert to PAL, but as far as I know not many, if any, European games were released. People just played the American games on it.
Yes, that's what I have. Cost only 40 euros (~$50) as new :) And I definitely play us and jp games as it's modded :)

It seems, that I'd better get me a duo-r for reliability, price etc reasons... Is the duo-r hard to mod to play us games? If I remember correctly, a simple converter/switch wasn't enough this way (playing us games with a jp console)?

Ok, thanks for the info guys  :)

I guess the Super system card is not a big problem, but I also wonder if the japanese cd-rom unit is compatible with a TG-16? The connector is the same (a scsi?), but the casing around the connector can be purposely made a bit different for making things more difficult ;) It would be great, if someone could confirm this to the way or the other.

As you can see, I'm new here, so please be gentle ;) Would anyone have this official "addon" for sale? I have a brand new TG16 (PAL) with a region switch, so I'd not like to get me a TurboDuo. Or is it a completely dumb to buy a TurboGrafx-CD instead of a TurboDuo?
