i have purchased all their previous games on DC, but something about this game seems...well... it looks like a reskin of DUX tbh.  Some of the enemies (i.e. the walking merchanical rabbit things) look rehashed, which is unfortunate since Dux already got re-released to death.

it's possible that he based his price off of previous ebay listings. he runs the biggest retro game store in chicago, but some of his prices are reasonable/below ebay values.  this item pops up so infrequently, it's hard to say what the average market price is these days.  i do feel that $60 is a bit much,  i only paid $15 for mine.

he also has devil's crush and splatterhouse shirts displayed on the wall, thought i'm not sure if they are for sale.

I stopped by a local retro game shop today and was pretty surprised to see one of these on the shelf.  I felt the price was a little steep, is $60 what these go for now?  I don't recall TZD ever selling these, were they phased out early in the system's life?  Do we know what they originally retailed for?  just curious i guess.

i always thought davis cup tennis had much better cover art for the NA release.  looking back on the threads that compared all the cover art, there are just so many horrible choices.  moto roader and cosmic fantasy 2 are hilariously terrible.

MY DISAPPOINTMENTS:
(-2) Strider (ACD). I loved Strider (arcade, Genny). I didn't know about the PCE ACD version until later, after spending a long time exploring the PCE library, reading about it occasionally on PCE forums, etc. I knew the game had been criticized, but I was convinced everyone else was wrong and I would find some enjoyment! Sadly, I was wrong: Strider ACD is totally meh and it's a goddamn SIN that this isn't a GEM in the PCE legacy. seconded.  The ACD version is so upsetting compared to the megadrive classic.  The acd version could have been great but all it ended up being was wasted potential.  I received this game in a giant lot I purchased a few years back but quickly sold it off after giving it a shot.  what a waste.

for pce, my choice is faussete amour.

I really wanted to like this game, but I feel that the game just moves too slow to really be enjoyable.  It's a shame because it could have been a great action platformer.

I also didn't enjoy Cosmic Fantasy 2, despite putting many hours into it I just couldn't be bothered to finish it.  I found the gameplay to be pretty dull.  I can see why some might enjoy it, but it's just not for me.

1. Game Sack - i like that even though the show is usually around 30 mins it goes by very quickly, a feat most youtubers can't really pull off.  The level of production is on point and their selection of games/consoles is great too.  Needs more turbo tho.

2. Game Grumps - most will probably scuff at this choice, but I stand by it.  I think these guys, and most of their off-shoot channels, are pretty funny.  Not for everyone though.

3. Turbo Views - no comment needed, everyone here knows these are great videos.  I would love to see Chris finish reviewing the entire US collection one day, but that is understandably not an easy task.

Well, if the laser and the whole sled/spindly unit is fine, I´d give it a go. Have you ever opened it up?

I've never tampered with it, it has stayed inside an antistatic bag in my closet for probably...5 years?

Did you power yours on with an IFU-30's power adaptor, or did you use something else?  Maybe if i could find a proper power source we could see if the lights come on.

I used the IFU as well as the power plug directly. In the IFU it only powers on when you press "Play", you cant boot it up from the console itself...sadly...

I just connected it to my IFU and can confirm that it powers on as you described.  You are correct that it is not a 1:1 replacement for the PCE CD unit as it will not function as one.  If anyone has any other questions about it or wants me to test it in any other way, please let me know.

Thanks for making this thread!  That auction is mine, but sadly I don't know much about this item.  I purchased a PCE-CD briefcase unit a few years back and the seller threw in a ton of extra stuff including this item.  He told me it was handy to keep around for spare parts, but i'm not too good with repairing electronics so I figured someone else might be able to put it to good use.

If anyone has any questions about it or wants me to test out anything, let me know.
