12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

I spent a little under $40 for Spriggan. . . $50 is pretty much my max on a Turbo or PC Engine game.

But I have been wanting to own Rondo of Blood pretty badly these days.
#2
Awesome, Thanks! PM Sent.
#3
I got Shadows of The Damned for Xbox 360 yesterday.

So far I really like it.
#4
Can I send my breakout adapter your way too? Let me know.

I played some Sapphire last night.

I was amazed by the visuals. But the speed and hit box are gonna take some getting used to.

WTF? How else would you sell them? In a plastic bag from the factory? that makes NO sense. hahahaa

...to buy the system or just play some games with him?

Actually 450 isn't too bad but I wouldnt touch it at that price myself. I've seen the boxed versions go for 350- 500+ easily.

I thought they came in big plastic bubbles? Man.

Quote from: sheath on 06/18/2011, 06:46 PMI consider Shinobi III the only nearest neighbor to Strider when it comes to Action Platformers with this kind of extreme action emphasis.  When I play a 3D Action game today I always compare them to Strider or Shinobi III and so far not one game has lived up to them.  Cinematics be damned.
I agree, most (if not all) 3D action games are inferior to Strider and Shinobi III.

Why has Capcom not released a Strider 3? Why hasn't Sega made a more straight forward Shinobi game? I liked the PS2 one (I am in the minority I think). I realize game design has "evolved" but there are so many great aspects of those games that would translate wonderfully to modern games.

Super Star Soldier

I find the game painful, yet very addictive. I desperately want to beat it! I HATE the boss gauntlet, at what I presume is, the end!

I do agree that RS is convenient.

I would never make another major purchase there. I bought speakers there in like 1995. . . what a huge mistake. But when you need something ASAP Radio Shack is great.

In all honesty, I think I'm too big of a wuss to chop up a $50 converter. I have little to no skills as far as soldering goes. So I'm confident it would become a paperweight when I got through with it.

Any other possible solutions?

I actually can't believe Radio Shack is still around.

Last time I went in there I was looking for an Optical Audio cable. They had a giant selection of ONE. It was 6' and $40.

I left laughing.

R-Type would have made a fine pack in. . . except for the fact that the game is damn near impossible on the default setting. Which isn't a horrible thing, it makes you keep coming back. . . but if I got a TG16 back in the day with R-type, I may have thrown the damn thing out the window.

I think Legendary Axe would have been a great pack in. Blazing Lazers would have been great as well.

To me, Keith Courage is average at best. It's more tedious than fun. Granted, I didn't play it until 2007.

I'm not sure what the public opinion is on World Court Tennis, but I think that's a pretty sweet game that I'm guessing, most people write off.

I think the Halo anniversary is completely unnecessary. Halo is backwards compatible with the 360 anyway. . . and there has to be about a billion copies floating around out there.

Just make the multiplayer maps available for Halo Reach.

Doujindace give out the European SCART adapters to people that order that system in the west. You would have had to ask to get the Japanese one.
Gotcha. Just thought it may have been a possibility,

Cardboard? Really?

I can appreciate the effort put into this. . . but if you're gonna mangle a PC Engine, might as well take the time to at least case it in something sturdy.

Quote from: SuperDeadite on 06/17/2011, 08:18 AMJust open up your converter and add RCA audio output cables :)
The only problem with that is, the last time I soldered anything, people found Brittany Spears attractive. . .

I know Japanese and European SCART cables are different. Could this be a problem? I have no experience with SCART cables so I may completely off base. Could I be using a Japanese style SCART cable with a European audio adapter? Just a thought.

To me it doesn't sound like it will be a retail item. Just to show off the game. Then later they'll be auctioned off.

Am I the only one that didn't hate that thing?

Gamestop can frigg off.

The people who work there aren't even knowledgable about current systems. I had to explain PS3 compatibiity to a customer because the gs employee got it very wrong.

The gs employee had this guy thinking the most expensive model could play ps2 games. But the cheaper one couldn't. . . I mean really.

I recently got an RGB modded Duo-R from Doujindance (eBay seller).

I bought a scart to component converter to get RGB video:
http://cgi.ebay.com/SEGA-SCART-RGB-YPbPr-YUV-Component-Video-Converter-/220698773448?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3362ac07c8

The picture looks amazing!

Then I bought one of these for audio:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=390279125607&si=QxgH18oGkg3U97C3kmQTzixadRY%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT

I am getting absolutely zero audio signal. I figure there could be many factors leading up to this. Such as the audio being incorrectly modded on the system, broken converter, wrong converter. . . the list goes on.

The audio works perfectly with composite video.

Anyone more technically inclined know why this may not be working for me? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Possibly.  But the difference is,  there's actually a demand for Duo pads.  :-({|=
I guess I wouldn't know. To me, controllers are meant to be used. In my mind I don't see them as collectable.

FirePro Wrestling D was ultimate.

They should just translate the text in that and bring it to XBLA. . .

They would probably get sued by every Wrestler from the 1970s to 2000s though.

I had the Move. . . until I got Killzone 3, realized it sucked with (and without) Move. Huge mistake buying that thing.

Yes, but more importantly, the face paint signifies that he's TOTALLY OUT OF HIS MIND AND A LOOSE CANNON!

Quote from: SignOfZeta on 06/10/2011, 01:26 PMI honestly think the Neo CD is pretty much worthless at this point. If MVS carts weren't so very very cheap it would be a different story. The NeoCD was awesome when I had one in 1998, but the economies of Neo have changed in that time. Almost any Neo game can be had for under $100, the vast majority below $40. There is zero load time on MVS too.

The biggest problem with Neo CD is that there are way too many games missing from it. Not much (anything?) after KOF 99, so if you get really into Neo you're still going to need another system for the awesome stuff like Rage of Dragons, KOF 2000-2003, etc. Neo CD doesn't even have Metal Slug 3, which is the best in the series. Therefore you might as well just buy all the stuff on MVS.
The first thing I do when I purchase a home (which should be sometime in the near future) is buy and MVS cab.

I've thought many times about grabbing a Neo CD. . . then I say screw it. I'll wait until I move out of my 3rd story apartment (which will hopefully be less than a year) and get an MVS cab. No load times, and the prices for games are not that much higher than the CD stuff.

It does have Netflix, which is a multimedia function.

My Wii is a paperweight. If it played DVDs that would be something. . . Everyone knows it's capable of doing so, so why not?
Yes, but it has Netflix due to Netflix financially compensating Nintendo for subscribers using it on their Wii.

Like I said before, it's capable of doing it but Nintendo wants the primary reason people purchase their hardware to be to buy games (IE things that make Nintendo money). I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo sold a DVD player (or if it has the appropriate optical drive) a Blu-Ray player via their online store for their system. Nintendo has structured their entire business model around a closed system where they reap all the profits and considering the fact that they're still making hardware it's been a good business model for them so far.
As much as I piss and moan about these things. . . I'll probably still buy one. . .
