Available:
Dungeon Explorer w/ case & manual
Keith Courage w/ case & manual
Military Madness w/ case & manual
Ninja Spirit w/ manual
Splatterhouse w/ case & manual

May Trade:
Gate of Thunder w/ case & manuals

Vasteel (no outer sleeve) w/ case, manual, & map

Wanted:
Aero Blasters
Air Zonk
Blazing Lazers
Bonk's Adventure
Bonk's Revenge

I would consider trades for other items as well, but I'm definitely looking for these titles.

This topic has a point? Could've fooled me.

The region mod is a great solution, except I can play a decent amount of these games on the Wii for much less, or for free on my PC or through whatever other means of emulation I prefer. I still don't see how this has any impact on what US HU-cards are selling for.
#3
Good for you? How does that help my situation?
#4
Patience? That is flat out wrong. Tell that to folks who waited on Little Samson, which used to be an $80 cart not too long ago.

What is bullshit about wanting Super Star Soldier? And why would I buy the PCE version? I don't have a JP system or an import converter. If I just want to play the game, I can download it on the Wii or illegally. I want a US HU-card that I can play on my NTSC TG-16 and I'd like to pay $30. Is this an unsolvable puzzle?

Quote from: KingofGames on 09/01/2016, 11:57 AMSuch a shame that the game is sealed. It should be played and enjoyed, even though it is an average game that no one really wants to play.
I have had the thrill of experiencing Darkwing Duck pogo around on my TurboExpress whilst playing my opened, second boxed Darkwing Dunk.

:)
Ah, so you are one of them hoarders who doesn't want to allow others to experience the sheer joy of mediocre gameplay? I gotchu, I gotchu..

So I just need a time machine, huh? Besides that, what other tricks can I use?

Quote from: Gentlegamer on 09/01/2016, 12:51 PMYou're running into resistance here because we actually understand the whole market and are not the usual low information, impulsive collectards you're used to dealing with.
What does this even mean? How are you immune to what games are currently, actively selling for? I would like to purchase a copy of Super Star Soldier for $30 and not a penny more. How do I avoid being an impulsive collectard and make this happen?

Quote from: Medic_wheat on 09/01/2016, 12:15 PMNot OBEY related but eBay related.

Saw a listing for the NA Saturn Megaman 7 disk only.

Seller has it listed at $111.11.

I shot a message saying how about $50. Expecting maybe a $70 rang throw back response. Or to simply fuck off lol

The seller throws back that it's "the going rate"

My response pressing 1 over and over is "going rate" why not $55.55 or $222.22.

Sellers final response "if you can find it cheaper go for it".

It's BIN with seemingly arbitrary numbers thrown in and the only defensive rebuttal "it's he going rate"

So yes. A seller status the price. People are not activity saying hey saw you wanted $50 BIN. But I want to give you $1,000.
You can buy this one for $110.

http://item.ebay.com/322161725106

Oh wait, it actually sold. :-/ But good luck finding it for $50.

For the record, you can pick it up for the PS1 under $10:

http://item.ebay.com/152218325948

But where's the fun in owning the common version of the game, right?

Such a shame that the game is sealed. It should be played and enjoyed, even though it is an average game that no one really wants to play.
#11
I can't enjoy the game unless you have the cardboard box, unfortunately. It adds to the experience.

Quote from: Mathius on 08/31/2016, 08:07 PMSomeone must've said something pretty idiotic to drag me back into this discussion (I can't afford to replace anymore popped veins in my forehead). Saying someone who buys a Turbo game CIB is not purchasing it to play the actual game is foolhardy. I just bought Jackie Chan CIB for way under ebay prices and you can damn sure bet that it's gonna get played. If you're allowing yourself to collect games as shelf trophies and nothing else in the end you're the one being played.
You don't need a CIB copy to play and enjoy the game. Heck, you don't need the actual game to play and enjoy it. What point are you attempting to make? A CIB IS a shelf trophy, whether you wanna believe it or not.
#13
Necro bump for an old find. I was just thinking about these, as I picked up a TG-16 bundle recently. Crazy where prices have gone. Soldier blade just sold for $700 CIB..

Quote from: guest on 05/04/2012, 09:54 PMNo, but his tactics are the same: chappy responses, talks in circles, no exit strategy.
No one on pcenginefx could use a Dynastic Hero manual?
#15
I offered to sell you the CD-based games for $5 a pop plus shipping. If you want the collectors pieces, I will certainly cut you a deal, but I'm not going to lump them in at the same price. Also, that link doesn't prove anything I have not already established about myself. I sell items strictly for profit.
#16
Sorry, I didn't mean to compare the two directly. I was referring to the concept of paying a premium for an item, whether that premium is fairly insignificant (video games) or a complete game-changer (an original artwork). I'm sure I can pick up a reproduction of "The Scream" this weekend and still have $119.899 million to spare.
#17
The same reason someone is willing to pay $119.9 million on an original Edvard Munch "The Scream" painting. It's a collectible; a show piece.

As far as you other gems, who says I stopped posting? I just posted a couple days ago about my MtG find. The reason I declined your offer is because it simply was not worth the effort. You're offering me a hair over $3 a game. I can get at least half that amount on Serpent Isle alone. As it stands, the floppy based games probably don't work. They are literally just collectors items. If you want to buy a bunch of the common CD-based games at $5 a piece plus the cost of shipping, I'd be fine with that.
#18
From the top of my head, I remember there being 4x plateau, 3x badlands, 2x Savannah, 1x Tropical Island. Can't remember the rest ATM.
#19
You'd be surprised how much money (in so many different forms) is just waiting to be scooped up by the handful. In February, I bought a random lot of Magic the Gathering cards from a local thrift shop for $10. I know absolutely nothing about the game, but I figured it would be a good learning experience. Well, for those in the know, they ended up being 3rd edition revised and included 17 dual land cards. I sold those 17 cards to a local comic shop for $500 cash (convertible to 1.5x store credit). After picking some solid gaming items they had, I ended up with around $800. The owner of the shop was appreciative and quite excited that I brought the cards to him. I've had a handful of experiences like this one in the past year alone.
#20
If I promise to stop making money on EBay, can we be besties?
#21
Yeah, I'll have to settle on $255 and the ability to still play the game from my Wii. Life sucks!
#22
I'm the Capcom of video game collectors. Just lookin to make a buck where ever I can.
#23
You have my undivided attention.
#24
Pretty sure that isn't the case!

Clearly not enough cash to represent Soldier Blade.

Quote from: KingofGames on 04/25/2012, 03:22 PMThems the breaks. I don't HAVE to do that any longer, but it's hard to break away from that logic when you've used it for years. Every time I see Soldier Blade sitting on my shelf, I feel guilty. I see a stack of cash. I absolutely do not need to sell it, but I know I won't play it nearly enough to justify having it sit there looking pretty. I can put the $200+ to better use and still play the game on my Wii if I ever feel the urge.
I swore I heard it was a $400 game??

*with $12 shipping LMAO*
The auction is still running, so the final price remains to be seen. Will it be less funny if it is bid up to $400?
#29
That's not true, though. Everything I buy, I tell myself I'm going to keep. I made a trade with a friend of mine last year for 6-8 beautiful SNES games that I swore to myself I wouldn't sell. I went out and bought about 15-20 additional games (Demon's Crest, Dracula X, Batman & Robin, Final Fantasy III, Lufia II, etc.). Several months later, they were all gone. I just sold a copy of Little Samson on the NES. I battled with myself almost daily on whether I should keep or sell it.

I have no age. I simply exist. But seriously, I'm 27. Also, it's just a nickname. I doubt Necromancer can actually summon the dead.
#32
The only reason I got into gaming was because my father was a gamer. He owned an Atari, then the NES that I played with. Guess how often he plays games today? Wanna take a guess the last time he played a video game? All I'm saying is that my interests might change. I can't say with any certainty that I will give one single shit about games five years from now.
#33
Of course, like I said, I'll post pics of what's left and also of what I originally had when I get home. Imageshack is blocked at work, otherwise I'd do it right now.
#34
I won't rebuy in the same bulk, that's for certain. I mean, who knows. Five years from now, I might not have any interest at all in gaming stuff. Right now, I still do. In any case, I'll let you know what I have and we can go from there. They are just taking up space in the garage, so we can likely come to an agreement.
#35
The NES was my first system. I've been gaming since the late 80's/early 90's. I am, first and foremost, a fan. However, I have no problem turning my hobby into money. I bought a lot of 560 NES games last year and sold every last one. I was able to pay off my car and a significant portion of my student loan debt. I had to work four months at my last job (part-time) before I made as much as I did from that haul. Gaming has provided me with so much more than just entertainment. The people who purchased my games were ecstatic too, because they were able to add to their collections. I cut some fantastic deals. Eventually, I'll be in their shoes, gladly overpaying for a piece of my childhood.
#36
I still have probably half of those games remaining. When I bought that lot, I was using funds that needed to be replenished. Not immediately, but I couldn't go about dropping hundreds of dollars on games and not make anything back. Unfortunately, it was the way I had to collect for years and years. Grim Fandango is one of my favorite PC games. It was also one of the first I sold because of it's popularity. I've owned two boxed copies of Fallout in the past year. I sold them both, even though it's one of my favorite gaming series. Money has always come first. Like I said, if resources weren't an issue, I would keep everything I purchase.

I have two copies of Black Gate, one copy of Serpent Isle, one copy of Labyrinth of Worlds. I have a bunch of old SSI and AD&D stuff. Some of it is CD based, while some is floppy based. I'll post pics of the collection before I pieced it out and try to come up with a list of the remaining stuff. I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $350. I set up my dad's old PC in an effort to check out some of the games, but they either had issues when loading or were corrupt to begin with. I got about 5 minutes into Martian Dreams before it crashed on me, heh.
#39
Vintage PC collecting is about as bad as the NES. Check out this copy of Zork for the TRS-80 that sold yesterday:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zork-The-Great-Underground-Empire-Part-I-Infocom-TRS-80-Barbarian-version-/251043362736?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7359b7b0

I stumbled across a crazy PC collection last year. Included in the lot were copies of Martian Dreams, Savage Empire, Stygian Abyss, Labyrinth of Worlds, Black Gate, Forge of Virtue, False Prophet, Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, Return of Werdna and many other classic PC titles. The majority of the titles were boxed with all inserts. I still have about half of the games left, but most of the popular stuff has since been sold or traded. I do still have a few Ultima titles left though.

Quote from: TheOldMan on 04/24/2012, 07:39 PMJust because someone -will- pay a price doesn't automatically make it a fair price; it means someone is getting screwed.
Just my 2 cents....
If I was selling a commodity that was a necessity, I would agree with this statement. However, I am not selling water, food, shelter, clothing, or anything of the sort. I am selling a luxury collectible. No one is forced to bid on or purchase anything I sell.

I'm curious to know what others would have done with this item. What would the price have been? How would you have determined who deserved to own the game?
#41
Sure it is. The games aren't free. Someone is always making money.
#42
I was going to post a link to the listing to see if anyone wanted to shoot an offer over. I listed the other games from the lot here. I was not expecting $400, and I would have gladly accepted a solid offer outside of Ebay. In fact, I worked out a deal for my NES games on NintendoAge. I'm not looking to squeeze anyone dry, but I also don't mind making money on my hobby.
#43
The item was relisted at $.99. It's going to sell for a ridiculous amount because it's a sought after item, plain and simple.
#44
Which legendary NES classics play like Night Creatures?
#45
You say that as if the praise isnt deserved. The NES is home to many of the best franchises that are still around to this day. Where would we be as gamers without Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, Mega Man, Metal Gear, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and so many others. I respect the TG-16, but let's be serious. Without Nintendo, we wouldn't be here discussing the TG-16.
#46
I've been familiar with the Turbo Grafx for over 10 years. I just found out about this site a few months ago. I work a regular 40 hour, 5 day work week. I browse Ebay here and there for solid deals. I comb through the local swap meet and thrift stores occassionally looking for solid deals. I don't need anyone to tell me what's worth picking up. Can you explain how I price gouged with a $.99 auction?
#47
There are NES collectors who feel the same way. Hell, I'm sure there are CD-i collectors who feel every game is worth experiencing. At the end of the day, experiencing the Turbo Grafx is not a very expensive endeavor outside of Magical Chase, especially compared to other classic systems. Now if you're talking about boxed games, you're heading into collector territory. I listed that copy of Soldier Blade at $.99. It hit $200 within an hour or so. If I listed the same game without the cardboard, it might not even top $100. As a HUcard, it would probably hit $60.

Quote from: KingofGames on 04/23/2012, 11:15 PMYou wanna see expensive cardboard?

http://item.ebay.com/290690633965

Without DK Jr Math, probably would've sold for a couple hundred.
So far every game you've shown to prove your point people pay dumbass prices for cardboard are old NES games when every kid including myself tossed the box. So the few that did survive are rare. But TG16 boxes aren't rare to me. In fact I gave my Shockman cardboard to my kid to cut up for a collage. I didn't care I know I could have made a $100 off it but to me its just cardboard.
My point is that the Turbo Grafx isn't privy to the same price gouging that the NES is subject to. There are few games that eclipse $100. There is only one game that tops $1000. In the grand scheme of things, the Turbo is barely affected by resellers. There are TONS of fantastic games that are dirt cheap (Blazing Lazers, Ninja Spirit, Neutopia, Bloody Wolf, Crush series, Military Madness, Bonk series). You guys keep talking about gamers, gamers, gamers, but your examples resort to the very few collectible games on the system. Why get up in arms over the price of cardboard when you can buy the HUcards (is that better?) for a fraction of the cost?
#49
The Neutopia series and Ys are available in English. Neutopia 2 is pricey, but the others are affordable.
#50
The Neutopia games are great, though they are more Zelda-clone than RPG's. The Ys series is very old school, but not without it's charm. The soundtrack for Ys I & II is pretty rockin', but the combat is bizarre. You walk into enemies to damage them. I'd say give them a try, see if they gel with your tastes.
