hi steve, for the update, after the best pot tuned(only last track has some cracky noise) i did, i just leave it like that for few days, now  it seems no noise at all, and the games which has no music somtime , now seems ok, no music rate get very low l think the situation is like hifi equipment that has not been used for long time, it need a period of time to hv the parts run in again:-) , i will hv my post update if any other situations come up, wish this can be helpful for turbo fans who hv cd reading issues:-D

hi mike
the pots adjusting is really time consuming.....I have apent 100+ hours , to feel the actual situation, steve is really helpful. I have fixed one of my duo-r perfectly, Im still working on my s-video moded duo-r, I have gone through stages like you, from nothing , start read  a bit, then end up spin all cd's, make sure it read the last track of cd, or your console wont read game correctly,I think vr 102,vr 105 are the pots you need to focus at
hope this help,
cheers

thx steve,
Btw I just couldn't get my duo-r   (s-video moded and fitted with good original lazer that works perfect on my duo-rx) to play the last track of cd without cracky noise, the best i got is just minised the noise.
Then I test with games discs, most games no problem from beginning till the end, but certain titles, have Back ground music issue, it loads the music, but the music will stop, while all sound effects and game plays no issue...
any further advices?
cheers

hi steve
i have removed the "original good working lens" from my duo-rx to my duo-r( lens replaced), after simple pots tuning , all go good! It seems like the new hop m3 lens are not as good as the original lens from old days.....
I have another duo-r with s-video and region moded, bought with new lens replaced, also shows not reading cd correctly when arrived in Australia.  I have 1 x duo-RX, 1 x duo-r with rgb moded, 1 x duo-r with s-video+ region moded) I move the original good lens to the "s-video duo-r ", I just can't make it perfectly sounds clean when plays last track... will keep trying...

hi steve
I realised, vr105 and vr102 both help reading tracks, now i can make the cd rom reading last track of cd with cracky noise... also there is a pot on the cd lens moving part( where cables connected to) that also help read more games

HI mates here,
Im from Australia, seems there are not many pce guru in OZ, just really need help here, any input are much appreciated! :)
i got few duo-r , duo rx consoles, which was bought with new lens replaced , rgb/svideo modded, from japan ,  all consoles read games in japan prefectly , when they arrived in my hand in Australia, they just dun work....
so I hv to open the consoles, follow all info. here, adjust the pots , then i got them read games all gd, red book also fine WHEN the console cover is opened., When i put cover back on, then it is not working properly..like getting cracky noise in music, work harder to read disc etc.   can any guru tell me why??
after many days/ hours of work, one day it seems like I got the adjustment close console cover, screwed on, played 15-20 different games with no major issue( sometime still get small cracky noise from music) I usually use "sf 1 " as a reference game cd, and pay the ending track as that track most often get cracky noise when pots not adjusting properly.   BUT after 2 days, i take the duo-r out , spin the games again, it seems not working as good as b4!!!
holy shit, any guru here has the reference photo of where the pots are set on duo-r ?
( btw i do adjust the variable transistor on the cd drive as well)
cheers
