I know its taboo in the arcade world but before scrapping maybe decase a tv and get a rgb converter board.  This is how I did my MVS and while not as awesome as a proper monitor it looks nice with s-video. Tv + Converter about $100.  Better than playing an "audio game."

I have tried and tried to enjoy emulation but I just can't get into a game.  I don't know why I guess I am too much of a purist.  It is great for trying out games but that's as far as I even get with it.  On the flashcard debate I am afraid it would change my habits and won't buy one for now.  I really enjoy having physical copies of games.

It unique.  The games... hardware...  and that feeling you get that your not just playing a game, you are experiencing something different.  I love pretty much all consoles but the tg16 has character/ its own feel.  I haven't been a member here long but the community has been great.  I will never part with my tg16/cd.  It will be buried next to me.

Yes! Since I put in Rondo of Blood it hasn't been back out.  I suck at Castlevania games but I am determined to finish it.  Many rage quits but I am slowly progressing.

I was 9.  I didn't get a tg16 for a couple years tho.  A video rental store that rented them was stopping and had several brand new systems in the back that they kept in case one of the rental systems was damaged.  I scored one for $60 after doing many chores to raise the money.  It was probly '91 or '92.  I knew the first time I turned it on there was something special about the TG16.

I'm new to the forum.... well lurked for a long time....  Used this site for inspiration to fix a dead tgcd unit...  picked up a broken unit with stuck gears and no spin/laser activity... blew all the cat hair outta it.. unstuck the gear.. cleaned the lens and it came to life. I got a cd base unit on the way and got a japan system card 3.0 so a chopsado is in my future.  I think I have read about every topic on the forums.  This place has it all!  Anyway back in the 90s i picked up a new tg16 near the end of its lifespan and I have loved it ever since.
