Quote from: guest on 10/23/2012, 12:02 PMNice and welcome aboard!  Where'd ya find such a good lookin' console anyway?
Well, I used to work at my local used game store. About a year ago I got a call from one of my other stores saying that a guy had called them to see if they were interested in "new" TG-16, the gave him my number since I handled all the high end collectible stuff for our locations. The guy called and he said that he had four systems and some accessories. I didn't believe that the systems could be new, but even if they were used I wanted a couple for my store. He came in a few days later with this huge office chair box and I cracked the box and there were four unopened systems, two new boosters, and a bunch of third party joy sticks. Everything was in great shape. He told me that he had bought the systems back in 90 or 91 when they were marked down at a department store. He had stored them in this box since then. We were not able to come to an agreement through the store (I couldn't offer him enough), but over the summer I ended up buying the systems and boosters from him personally. He was a great guy, real passionate about NEC stuff. I'm working on trying to get a boxed Duo from him for myself.

For lack of an introduction thread I guess I'll start here.

I spent seven years working in a used games store and I had always been a bit of a collector. The first year and a half that I worked there we had a TG-16 for sale and I always told myself that I would buy it one day. On two occasions people bought the system before I could and returned it for one BS reason or another (most likely just didn't know what it was). The third time someone bought it it was gone. So I was pretty angry at myself for letting it pass me by. However a few months later a middle aged man looking to get some cash came in with a TurboExpress, TV tuner, Bonk's Revenge, and a bunch of junk SNES games. We made a deal for the SNES stuff through the store but I personally bought all the Turbo stuff off of him for a very nice price. The Express worked great, no sound though, I got a few solid months of playing out of it before the screen started to go. Apparently this happens (IDK). Now I'm just looking for a way to repair the system and hopefully get a chance to play the other two Hu Cards I have picked up since.

I'll throw a couple your way.

The three Tulsa area Game-X-Changes in Oklahoma all carry Turbo stuff. If we can get it. I used to handle all the "collectible" items for the stores but now that I am living out of state I don't now how much our stores will take in.

Also for consideration is Vintage Stock. While not the best shopping experience (poor customer service) these stores will occasionally have a few TG-16 Games. Also this is for Tulsa, Oklahoma

Quote from: guest on 10/22/2012, 12:11 AMUh, how is it sealed? There wasn't even tape to hold the box shut.
Yes, the boxes were not sealed but all of the individual components are in plastic bags that are "sealed" with tape. All of the original tape seals remain on this system.

Oh, I see. Well, I'll apologize for this frowned upon occurrence, I just wanted to spread the word.. But I'm sure I'll stick around, I do need some advice on repairing my TurboExpress.

Hello,

I figured some of you may be interested in this. This is the fourth Sealed TG-16 I have owned, and the best condition of all of them. Here is my eBay page:
