PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable. |

Sort of like i took a magnet to the right side. Strange, think i might need a new monitor? Seems hard to change out.thats not uncommon with the old stuff either, slight movements can cause adjustments to go out of wake, and or also jarring can sometime cause symptoms of dried out caps to rear their head. i would say at best the monitor needs recapped,of course a new monitor is the best route if you have access to a replacement, depending on how much burn in etc is on the one you have now.
Quote from: guest on 08/07/2012, 10:31 AMI've never had such problems with mine either, so it definitely sounds like a bad rip and/or bad burn.yeah im sure this is the situation, last night i was able to recreate the situation over and over at one spot in the game, so im sure thats the case!
Quote from: Tatsujin on 08/06/2012, 10:17 PMWow, thanks for the advice lolQuote from: jc78_2005 on 08/06/2012, 07:29 PMgranted i am playing a burnt copy.don't play a burnt copy.
Quote from: TheOldMan on 08/06/2012, 09:53 PMohh haha, yes, in a day or two i will get some pics to you, in private messege, so as to not further hijack this thread lol.Quotewhich other ms pacman board are you referring to?I knew after I posted that would be the question.
The mazes you play. If I can get a picture of all 4 of them, I can add them to Pyramind Plunder
Quote from: TheOldMan on 08/06/2012, 07:39 PMahh yes lol, i use wire, alligator clips and a nice long flathead screwdriver, the only boards im familier with is the main board and the daughter board? which other ms pacman board are you referring to?Quotethats interesting because I looked at a SFII cab a while back that was missing the back panel and it had the same button you had to hold in for it to workSee if you can pull the plunger out. It should click into place. That's how you override it for maintainance mode.Quotethe thing to watch for on the back of the monitor is a big red wire, one end has a suction cup on itI remember those....Good Times. Welding screwdrivers to the monitor frame, roasting wires, etc. Those were the days
jc78_2005:Quotei have a ms pacman, and a ninja gaidenYou have a ms pacman? Can you post pix of all the game boards for me, Please
(I can find pix of the first two on-line, but not the rest.)
Quote from: Bernie on 08/06/2012, 08:02 PMYou have a corrupt image.ahh never considered that . thanks a bunch!
Quote from: ParanoiaDragon on 08/06/2012, 07:44 PMHuh, I don't recall ever having that problem, & I played that game to death BITD(not that I've beaten it however). It's a glitchy game, but that just doesn't sound familiar. Is this on real hardware I assume?yes on real hardware, the original tgcd setup, it has other glitches as well but so do the other fmv games i have played, but yeah this one seemed extreme. i was just wanting to know , because i actually plan to buy this game, and was wondering if others have had this experience. think i will fire it up right now and see if maybe its a time period thing?
Quote from: Duo_R on 08/06/2012, 04:09 PMHere is something interesting, the monitor only comes on if this cherry switched is pushed in, it doesnt stay pressed so have to tape it down. Seems weird should i just permanently wire it in? It already has a rocker switch on the bottom for power so not sure why it is like this.yes that is a "kill" switch, so that the machine would power down when the back was removed for maintinace the "flyback switch on those old monitors can carry alot of juice! congrats on your first arcade cab! i have a ms pacman, and a ninja gaiden
The volume pot works so the sound is good now. Here is a picture of the switch.

Quote from: MottZilla on 07/29/2012, 11:08 PMSorry but SNES is the obvious winner. And I like all three systems alot. But the SNES port was clearly the best. Best sound, graphics, and all around. For one it was the only system that "stock" had the controller for it. PC-Engine and Genesis are a joke without the 6 button controllers. I actually think that it would have been tolerable if the PC-Engine or Genesis version let you assign actions to the buttons as you wished, not forced you to use a shitty switch between punches and kicks. Think about it, wouldn't you rather just map Strong Punch and Strong Kick, and then another couple ones you might want to have based on your play style or character? That would be way better than the shitty switching system which atleast on PCE I don't recall ANY screen indicator of if you are set to Punches or Kicks.well i was never a fan of the snes, the graphics always looked stretched, blurry and just well.. bland to my eyes, as far as the controllers, i didnt mind at all the sega controls and i dont mind the turbo's now, of course it is better with 6 button controls, now sound and graphics, to me, the only place the snes wins is maybe in sound.the stock snes controllers to me, just sucked lol. but again all that is just my opinion !
Again I know this is a PC-Engine fan site, but it didn't get the best port. Now throw it on SuperGrafx with the Arcade CD-ROM and a good development team and definitely.
Quote from: PikachuWarrior on 07/24/2012, 12:59 AMI know my Turbo Grafx CD unit will have to be serviced in the next year or so (running great right now, but doesn't hurt to get a tune-up!)well yeah, just like a car, after a few thousand miles, she needs a lil care lol.
Quote from: PikachuWarrior on 07/23/2012, 11:09 PMAlso the TG16/CD is in the shape of a "T"!haha ya know it is pretty awesome looking, shaped like a T and all lol. i think i have decided to just stay with the Original setup, so far its worked great for me, audio and all, even with burnt games, no issues. that says alot. mine was manufactured in September 1989 and after some new gear grease, runs like a top. that say alot!
Quote from: PunkCryborg on 07/21/2012, 08:12 PMIf you already have a working tg16+cd there's no point in gettting a US duo. Save the money and get a PCE duo so you can play Japanese games and have a dependable system.well i can play the JP games now my tg is region modded, wow i opened a can of worms didnt I? lol
Quote from: PikachuWarrior on 07/21/2012, 04:40 PMYes,it only works properly with system card 1.0, you can play it with others, as long as you dont want to turn into the beast lol, once you change into the beast the screen stops scrolling and you cant progress any further.Quote from: jc78_2005 on 07/21/2012, 04:19 PMso you're saying altered beast only works on system card 1.0?Quote from: PikachuWarrior on 07/21/2012, 04:17 PMsystem 1 card as in 1.0?thats it. you have to have it, in order to play altered beast properly. on cd.
Quote from: PikachuWarrior on 07/21/2012, 04:17 PMsystem 1 card as in 1.0?thats it. you have to have it, in order to play altered beast properly. on cd.
Quote from: Bernie on 07/21/2012, 04:10 PMright, well it wouldnt be anything i would do right now thats for sure, im loving it! having both does for sure seems like the best option, speaking of decent prices, what is a decent price on an arcade card , and a system 1 card?Quote from: jc78_2005 on 07/21/2012, 04:00 PMok, now that i have sampled a few games (few burnt cd games) im clearly going to stay with the tg/pce stuff, so the question is, how many stil luse the turbocd system vs the duo? i already have the itch for the duo set , its just soo sleek looking, however space ,nore funds allow for both,so at somepoint should i sell the cd setup and jump to the duo? im sure im not the first to face this diliema lol. It's really a personal choice.I personally like the Duo set-up, but am in the process of getting a TG-16/CD set-up as well. Most likely I will mainly play on the Duo, just cause I like it. It is certainly a space saver when it comes to US systems. Now, should you sell the CD set-up? I certainly would not. Keep it man, cause you will probably regret selling it. Just save your funds, and keep an eye out here in the forums for a decent priced Duo. Trust me, they pop up. I have bought a few right here in these forums in the past year.
Quote from: majors on 07/20/2012, 10:12 AMyes, looking into y's and valis also actually, lol i actually sorta like fighting street hard not for it to just turn into button mashing though lolQuote from: jc78_2005 on 07/19/2012, 05:48 PM...have you played the sequal? dragon sabre? im thinking i will get that one alsoSpirit is a solid arcade port, Sabre just takes it up a notch on graphics and game play. Like roflmao says, the first one should be had on the cheap but the sequel might be in the $25-30 range. I enjoy both.
You have a CD system, Ys 1/2 is a great ride (I would even go so far as to say a must play for any Turbo CD owner).
Fighting Street is not worth the shipping IMO. Wait for a Super System card and get Flash Hiders if you want another fighter(Asuka and VG are other options). SF2' is the best mainstream 2d fighter you're gonna find on Turbo.
Quote from: guest on 07/19/2012, 05:42 PMAh, well then you might want to keep an eye out for Dragon Spirit as well. It's not quite in the same league as Blazing Lazers, but it's still lots of fun and the music is outstanding. It should also be dirt cheap to pick up (I think I paid less than $5 shipped for my loose pce version earlier this year).ahh yes, played this on the nes, and loved it, wanting it, and have you played the sequal? dragon sabre? im thinking i will get that one also
Quote from: Lilgrafx on 07/19/2012, 04:57 PMI know you said you are mainly intrested in Platformers and fighters but it's worth grabbing a copy of blazing lazers, it's a great game.oh yes, i plan on expanding into the shooters, blazing lazers looks great.
Quote from: guest on 07/19/2012, 01:02 PMBloody Wolf is fantastic. Hunt it down with all speed.haha will do post haste!

That is all.
Quote from: geise on 07/19/2012, 11:02 AMVigilante and China Warrior! If you have friends over and like fighting then get the Bomberman games. Also, do you own a pc-engine or have a way to play pc-engine games? there were a ton of platformers that were never brought over stateside. The pc-engine softare bible pcengine.co.uk/ is a good place to start.i have a region modded tg16 , so yeah pc engine games are fine, as long as they are english player friendly , as in i know zero japanese. vigilante and china warrior are on my to get list, and yes the bonk games, thanks for the suggestions!
