Quote from: turboswimbz on 04/17/2013, 07:37 PMI will be attempting a visit from the New York Area.  Either Plane or Train seems like round trip will be about 125ish.  Once out there with the help of locals I hope to get around to a hotel and the VGS.   Anyone else in the area interested making the trip with me and meeting up with some PCFXers? (possibly seeing about sharing some cost)
Awesome man. I might make the trip out too, but the logistics are abit harder (I haz a famly) :P

Quote from: guest on 01/24/2013, 01:39 PMInspired by this thread, I downloaded Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD yesterday. It...uh...it's not nearly as fun as I remember. Tony Hawk 2 was one of my favorite games on Dreamcast, but I just don't seem to enjoy this game anymore.

Interestingly enough, I used to prefer Gaiares to TF back in the day. Now I enjoy TF3 and 4 much more.

Two main things that kill it for me are:
1. If you lose you usually don't get a fair shot at a decent weapons upgrade
2. Not enough good weapons (I'm always using Giga Beam)

$47 was sent to Sinistron via paypal gift! I send screenprints of the transactions to the Prof as Sinstron hasn't been online. I haven't been to work in 3 weeks now cause of that SANDY VAG as my office is downtown and still off limits.  ](*,)

Quote from: broken on 11/14/2012, 01:54 PMI am a retro gamer because it's what I grew up on.

I fully believe that our teenage years our are most "impressionable" part of our life. For me most of the late 8 bit and all of the 16 bit years was right in that period of time.

That's why I prefer that era of gaming. Sit me down in front of a NES, PCE or Megadrive and a handful of good games and I will play for hours on end.

Stick me in front of a PS3 or 360 and I would be lucky to make it past most games training/intro level.
Is it true that polygons killed gaming?
#33
I'd like to sign up also. Very cool of you!  8)

Nice find. A reminder of life before teh interwebz and polygons.

Quote from: guest on 11/11/2012, 04:44 PMI was always a pretty loyal EGM guy. At least before the Ziff Davis takeover.
Same here, EGM was the shizzle back in the day. Sheng Long April Fools was classic.

Did a lil shmup run of Phelios and TF3. Not bad for a lazy Sunday morning.

Back in 1989, I saved up and bought a turbografx-16 with my own money from a sketchy local store. My first game was JJ and Jeff. It was almost my last, but luckily my friend got Bloody Wolf.

Quote from: kazekirifx on 11/09/2012, 02:59 AMYep. I want some right now! But it gets old after staying in Seoul for a few days. I mean, Korea has other food too, but I find it all tends to taste a bit more similar and less diverse than Japanese food. Japan does western food better too.

(I may sound blatantly pro-Japan here, but I find other westerners who stay in Korea for a while tend to say the same thing.)
But only Korea has Gangnam Style!   :P

I was in Howard Beach a couple of days ago. Most of the houses have suffered flood damage. Theres flood damaged trash in front of most houses and no power. The gas situation is pretty bad here, you have to wait hours to get up the the pump and theres no guarantee they'll be enough when you get up there. It has also gotten much colder since yesterday, so anyone staying in a place without heat will have it rough.

Even though I'm teh n00b, if you need a go between to Sini I'll gladly help. I'm just kinda stuck close to the house due to the gas situation as well.

Quote from: glazball on 10/26/2012, 11:23 AMI believe the Mini only has the JP 21-pin in for RGB, looks like the Euro SCART.  Hope to finally pick up a Mini myself after the holidays.  They're sexy.
Mini actually uses RGB mini din 8. They provide an adapter for JP 21 pin.

Quote from: SuperDeadite on 10/24/2012, 09:47 AMLol, the whole point of this topic was that FX's S-Video with an XRGB can look quite decent.  There is no way to RGB mod an FX, it simply can't be done, unless someone has come up with some major vodoo recently.
Aha, excuse my n00biness. :-# I had no idea you couldn't RGB mod an FX.

I'm using an XRGB Mini for my consoles right now, and the difference between RGB versus encoded signals is pretty staggering.

I've got:

Sega:
X'eye
CDX

Neo-Geo:
CMVS
Pocket Color

Nintendo:
SNES
GBA
DS
Wii

Sony:
PS2
PSP

and a LOL360

Congrats! The hammerhead is hawt.

Framemeister looks best when processing RGB signals. I think the s-vid would prolly look just ok, but the FX would have to be RGB modded to take full advantage of it.
