Im using old school stereo. All my gear is either from the trash or the thrift store, and im sure it sounds better than what 90% of people use nowadays.
This being said, i compared dozens of Amp/speakers combinations before settling on what i currently use.
I would just go to a big thrift store that lets you test stuff and get a badass old school system.

Exactly. I'm not a huge fan of digital, but it is the way of the future. If they have to have it, the way GOG does it is the way to go. I have a really hard time believing that once i buy a game, i don't own it, and thats how most other sites work.
double ditto.
thats why i wont buy any newer windows software.
if it calls home for permission, than its not mine so i better not have paid for it.
Well, there was one company who went that route, many years ago. Stardock. I was an avid Stardock central ( later known as impulse)  supporter from the beginning, I bought around 50 games from their service.  But it went down the drain eventually and I quit when Gamestop bought them.

Big developers probably preferred The big brother approach over the "we trust our customers" approach of stardock.

And anyway, pc gamers flocked to this thing called Steam, IT HAZ ATCHIEVMENTZ!!

Im disillusioned now, GoG works because it sells old games and underground stuff.  But what the big game makers want for you is different. They want to sell you liscences, not actual games. Liscences cannot be resold. Or even better, they want you to pay for streamed data. You stop payin, You stop playin!! Just like the good ol' days arcades :D

Your whole account deleted after just one complaint for a few videos?   What a load of crap!

With PC Engine, it would be easier to put together a list of games that are not weird.
You might as well add Cloud Master to that list, unless flying ramen bowls are considered normal around here.

I did the simple "ben heck" composite mod on my Colecovision.
http://benheck.com/Games/Coleco/Video_Mod.htm

Tbh, im only partially satisfied with it. The color/brightness balance seems a bit off.
You adjust the strength of signal with a pot but it seems its never perfect.
Too much signal and the image looks washed out, too little and it gets noisy/dark.

There is no perfect middle ground, always some compromise it seems.
Its either dark image + noise or my reds look orange.
Might be that my transistor is not perfect for the job. Im curious what others will say about it.

I think the japanese guy who made a SMS lookalike for his consolized GG included a scaler.

Sure a scaler would be nice but for my part just getting a gg to display on a TV will be an awesome start.

Thats pretty nice. I have a dead game gear i found in the garbage. I think all it needs is  a full recap. If the recap job works im gonna see if i can get this kit too.

I wanted to beat this at some point ( ITs the game i got free when i bought my Duo-R )

The musics are BADASS, yet i stopped somewhere around 3/4 of the way through Xak I.

Gameplay is a bit weird on the Xak I :p

^ Seconded.

For me a flashcard would be mostly used to play "hacked" roms, or translations.  And likely some testing too.
I dont have any flash card yet. I have more "real" games than i actually have time to play so im not in a hurry.

Nice
I guess im a new addition to the PVM club myself, having recently purchased a PVM 2030.
I have not started using it yet, I plan to use it for testing stuff and also maybe connecting some retro home computers on it.
The image looks pretty good but it has some severe geometry issues. Ill take a look at this guide.
