I am looking for a Turbo Duo that is in mint condition, or near-new, and that comes complete with all the hook-ups, and the original box.

If you have one for sale, if possible, please PM me (or post) a photo.

I can purchase from the US and Canada only, and CAN use Paypal.

Thanks! :D -Dave

I am desperate to get a hold of either of these machines, and some games- preferably a Duo, but it doesn' matter.  (Just not a Shuttle PC Engine, as those cannot be hooked up to a Super CD-Rom2 Unit.)  As far as Duo units go, I prefer the original PC Engine Duo, but, as long as the unit is in good shape, I will take a Duo R, or other model.

As to what games I am interested in, pretty much anything from either of these two lists:
http://www.classicgaming.com/shmups/xenocidefiles/pcengine.html
http://www.classicgaming.com/shmups/xenocidefiles/pcenginecd.html

What I have up for trade is a complete Slim-PSTwo (AKA: PSTwo).  It is US-NTSC, and comes with original box and instructions, DualShock 2 controller, Street Fighter Anniversary and Mortal Kombat Fatailty controllers (1 of each; sorry but no original box or instructions), AV Cable, and power cord.

I also have a variety of games up for trade, all of them are US region, and all, like the system itself, work perfectly.  Here are the titles:

Time Crisis 3 (disc only, in jewel box), Time Crisis: Crisis Zone, Ninja Assault, and one complete Guncon2 controller.

Gradius V
Silpheed 2
Activision Anthology
Capcom Classics Collection vol 1
Sega Classics Collection
R-Type Final
Midway Arcade Treasures, vols 2 and 3
Fantavision
Alien Hominid (Missing it's instructions)
Atari Anthology (Disc only in Jewel Box)
Neo Contra

I can break some of this up, but all listed items are for trade ONLY.  I can ship to anywhere in the world, so if you are interested, please let me know!  Thanks! :D -Dave

Just to let everyone know; thanks! :D

I'm very curious about this-Turbo Duo's seem to go for more money on Ebay then their Japanese cousins, plus, I know that NEC and Hudson formed a partnership called Turbo Techologies, to make the Turbo Duo.  To my knowledge, there was no such partnership with any model of PCE Duo.

I still have not sold the Core Grafx iself, nor Galaga '88, Soldier Blade, Xevious, or Dragon Saber!  Please let me know if you are interested in any of these items!  Thanks! :D -Dave

I sent you a PM yesterday; how about $50 for both?  We can negotiate that price, but considering that both games are in great shape, and complete, I think that's reasonable.

At any rate, please PM me back about all this.  Thanks! :D -Dave

The PC Engine Core Grafx system is in great condition, and comes complete with power cord, AV cables, and one standard PCE 2-button controller. I do not have the original box or instructions for the system.

I also have 8 great PCE HuCard shooters for sale; they are all in used but good condition, and all are complete-there are no spine cards. The titles are as follows:

Galaga '88
Super Star Soldier
Soldier Blade
Final Soldier
Override
Gunhead
Xevious
Dragon Saber

I also have PCE Thunder Blade, if anyone is interested in that title.

I will sell this entire lot for the price of $170.00, and that DOES include shipping and handling! If you think that's too high, then we can negotiate.  I can break this lot up, but I would much rather sell the whole lot all together

I can take checks or money orders-sorry, no Paypal. I can ship to the United States and Canada.

So please let me know if you're interested; thanks for looking! :D -Dave

Quote from: KeranuI believe you press select to speed up or down in both Soldier Blade and Gunhed.

Thanks Keranu; that did the trick! :D
#9
I have the Japanese port of this game, so the instructions are useless, but while playing the game, I see "low" under my score.  I can only assume that this is the ship's speed; so how do you increase it?

Also, while playing Gunhead, I speed down sometimes; how does that work??

I have a Core Grafx I, and would like to purchase a Super CD-Rom unit for it.  This must be complete with all the hook-ups, and be in excellent condition.

Please let me know if you're interested!  Thanks!! :D -Dave

Thanks for the info on the GT! :D

I'd still like to know about the weapons counter thing in 1943 Kai, and if there are as many stages as in the arcade version.

Quote from: oldschooldaveAt any rate, what awesome little system! I have 4 games for it-Galga'88, Override, Soldier Blade, and GunHed! :D
Those are four excellent shooters you got! Did they come with the Core Grafx? What was the price?

No, I got the games off of Ebay; can't remember the price for all the games, but the system, complete with original AC adapter, controller, and AV cable, was only about $74.00-and that's including EMS from Japan.  I got it from www.japangamestock.com , excellent and very cheap site for older import consoles.

BTW, what about the PCE GT?  People tell me I should get one, but I've heard some negative comments about game playability due to the reduced screen size.
#13
Thanks for the info; the flicker doesn't seem bad at all in most PCE games; especially compared to NES games.

At any rate, I got my Core Grafx in the mail today!  Man, is this thing tiny! Shocked Seriously, in pictures I'd seen of it on the internet, it looks like it's the size of a friggin' Dreamcast! (Makes me wonder how big the SuperGrafx really is!)

At any rate, what awesome little system! I have 4 games for it-Galga'88, Override, Soldier Blade, and GunHed! :D
#14
Is it pretty much every PC Engine HuCard game, or does the SuperGrafx only enhance the graphics on certain ones?
#15
Does this port have the same number of stages as the arcade version?

Also, when playing this on Magic Engine, the weapon's counter stopped counting down once I reached the second part of the first stage-is this an emulation glitch?  If not, I may have to pick this one up! :D
#16
Great, thanks for all that info everyone! :D
#17
Just tried this one out on the trial version of MagicEngine, and loved it!  Are there any boss fights, though?

Man, if Nirgends plays anything like this, and I've read on here that it does, I'm down! :D
#18
I LOVE this shooter, but, while Gamefaqs.com lists a Japanese release, the only copies of this game I have been able to find on Ebay so far is the TG-16 release.

Quote from: stevek666ShuttleGrafx is the only model that CAN NOT be upgraded in any manner. You CAN NOT use CD-ROM with ShuttleGrafx.

Ok, great; thanks for that clarification! :D

Quote from: oldschooldaveOr can you only use the PCE CD-Rom units with the original white PC Engine and Shuttle Grafx?
Shuttle Grafx :?

What?? So you can only do it with the Shuttle Grafx??  If not, what do you mean by that post?? :?
#21
Or can you only use the PCE CD-Rom units with the original white PC Engine and Shuttle Grafx?
#22
And does the game loop?
#23
I'm looking for the most accurate home console version of this great platformer; how does the PC Engine compare to the Mega Drive, and other home ports?  Thanks!
#24
If there are any videos around of someone finishing this game, I'd love to see them!
#25
That's certainly what it looks like in the short gameplay footage I just viewed on this site.  Diddo with Tengai Makyo Karakuri Kakutoden.
#26
I don't know about that, the power-up system is different from what I've read, for one thing.
#27
He just has footage of Spriggan Mark 2, Seirei Senshi Spriggan is what I was looking for, do you know where I might find footage of that??
#28
Quote from: PcenginefxAs I stated on the PC-FX site, not all of the videos currently work.  Only about 10 games do work at the moment....sorry.

No need to apologize Aaron; I love scroling shooters, and I really enjoyed the footage you showed of Super God Trooper Zeroigar!  I would never have found out about this wonderful, obscure console were it not for this site, so thanks for all that! :D

Quote from: NutribrainThese programs can only be run on a PC-FXGA enabled computer and not on the real hardware.

They're supposed to run on the FX if you don't use the HuC6273 3D chipset in your code.

Quote from: oldschooldaveI still find it weird, though, that the PC-FX couldn't play PC-88 games - isn't the PC-98 backwards compatible with the PC-88?

No, you're just confused by the fact that some early PC-98 games were hybrid -- they contained both PC-98 and PC-88 versions. Why should the FX be compatible with the PC-88? The FX hardware has nothing in common with the NEC computers.

Yes I was confused, so thanks for the info!
#30
Well thanks for that information! :D

My main concern was wether you could use the TV as the monitor, or if, as you said, you need the PC-98's monitor.

I still find it weird, though, that the PC-FX couldn't play PC-88 games-isn't the PC-98 backwards compatible with the PC-88?
#31
Yes, they definately should be added.  But I am sorry if I was really harsh about it.-Dave
#32
OK thanks for that info! :D   I know the guy's reliable, I just wanted to know what a complete used copy would go for.
#33
I have not found a single one that works, so far, and I would really love to see some gameplay footage from some PC-FX games.
#34
So far I haven't found one that works, and I'd really love to watch some gameplay footage from some PC-FX games.
#36
I've seen gameplay footage of Spriggan Mark 2, but never any of Seirei Senshi Spriggan.
#37
When you hook a PC-98 to a PC-FX, do you just need the hard drive from the PC-98, or do you need the keyboard, mouse, monitor, or any other peripherals?
#38
Well that's too bad! :(   Still, it looks like there are some good titles for the PC-FX.
#39
Just curious.  Also, are most of the games FMV (a la Sega CD?)?  I know about the one vertical shooting game on this system, but what are some good action/adventure titles?  Thanks
