i assume other cards are working okay?  its a long shot and you have most likely already done this but maybe try cleaning the contacts?  good luck

my duo r from doujindance has been fine since i got it a couple of years ago - i use the PS1 Slim power supply - never had a problem with it - I've never opened it up so I'm sure its the same or similar to everyone else's as far the brown gunk goes - guess i will find out someday - anything i get moving forward will be from this forum - i bought a very nice briefcase unit from Keith Courage here - very nice work!

You just put the .pce's on a MicroSD card, then put the card in the Everdrive. Don't put uncompressed .zip's.

do i need 2 sd cards for the us and jap games?

You can mix JP and US games on the same SD card.

how big should the sd cards be?

1GB should be more than enough. It's ok to use bigger cards though.

I was thinking, because I love old hardware so much, of replacing my DUO-RX with a briefcase setup. It's just such a beautiful 80s looking piece of hardware. If the gears are replaced in the CD-ROM2, am I going to sacrifice reliability at all in switching? Is this stupid of me? I realize the DUO-RX is typically worth more money, but mine didn't cost me all that much, so I would be losing nothing.

why not just have both side by side...now that would be sweet!

They're fairly easy. Bernie on here has the roms set up in a nice folder ready to go. You just load those on a mini sd card and pop that in the everdrive and you're good to go. An entire PCE and Turbob library at your disposal.

did anyone get a loose copy of sapphire when they bought the repro?  the loose one i bought might be a cdr as it looks different - lighter in colour mainly - not that it matters but should i not be using it if it is a cdr?  i have always just used the loose disc and have never played the actual repro - thanks

Have you ever looked into reproducing manuals?  I know the scans are available and they are great.  I remember speaking to the sapphire guy in the UK and he said it takes about 4 to 5 hours per page to get things right so I am assuming this would be a huge undertaking.  Anyway I was just curious.  Thanks!
