Thanks again for the input. Hopefully thesteve will see my post and chime in with some sage advice on alternative capacitors. Until then I'll be making yet another futile attempt at defeating the final boss in The Legendary Axe.

Thanks BlueBMW for the detailed information you provided on the photo. I'll have to use a leaded capacitor for CC505, but do you know anything about the tantalum capacitors that have been mentioned in other threads? From what little I've read they're smaller and more reliable. I'm hoping to get a list of part numbers so that I can order everything I need to finally get this Express up and running again.

Thanks. I just started getting back into the NEC scene after quite some time and hope to bring my poor Express back from the dead. I just hope that I didn't do any permanent damage.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and was recently inspired to resurrect my poor TurboExpress with the help of one of the great guides on this site. Unfortunately, due to inexperience and leaking capacitors I have lifted/damaged a trace and pad for CC505. I'm also concerned about CC704 due to what looks like corrosion that has eaten away most of the pad on the board. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
I've also read about tantalum capacitors on a few posts in the forum and would like to know if anyone has specific part numbers for a complete replacement on my Express. I don't want to go through all the trouble of installing caps that are just going to fail again like the originals.
