Quote from: hoobs88 on 04/24/2014, 10:21 AMCan you make another one of these and sell it to me? I'd like to be able to make my LT setup more portable!
Sure, but it won´t be a cheapie. What are you willing to pay? ..... (insert here), shipping excluded
Hmmm... tempted to make you an offer. 60 Euros plus parts and shipping? ;)

Not with my unmodded LT. Picture is lost as soon as I switch to TV.
#4
You should get picture noise when selecting TV input, so there is something fishy.

I succesfully hooked up a Famicom to my LT with a simple Stereo RCA to 3.5mm adapter cable. Be it antenna (use ANT socket) or composite (trough AV).

We Happy!

OBEYed some 64DD, this happened:

Who needs MS Paint? I don't! #64DD!

How long does it last until the voltage drops to low and the LT screen goes all wonky?
#7
I get over 2 hours worth of gameplay, didn't expect that too! But as stated in the other thread, picture get's wobbly at that point and I suggest to stop using the integrated display from then on.

I mostly have brightness all the way down, because it's to white on higher brightness settings. I use big headphones (PlayStation Pulse) and sometimes even a controller.

I don't know if I understand your question correctly.

I had no problems occur with the LT or PowerBrick besides the PowerBrick getting disconnected when connected and both stored away in my bag for later use.

Trying to convince my friend to OBEY!

Quote from: guest on 11/11/2013, 12:34 PMAll aboard teh OBEY train!  Thank Clotho, Atropos, and Lachesis that you 'had' to get an LT instead of a boring ol' PS4 or xbone.
Playing After Burner II on a tilting train was way worth it!

I considered the option of using lead acid cells, but thought that most of the time, I'm just not en the mood for heavy equipment.

Update: Currently at 90min in a 50 and a 40 min session. same charge.

Update Update: I got 2 hours worth of playtime, and the battery would last more, but the voltage drops to a point where the LTs picture starts to wobble.

Conclusion: when the picture statts to wobble, close the LT, you have ample time to find a power outlet to recharge the battery.

I read your post wrong! (Wishful thinking)

I predict 45* minutes on LT with battery pack.

* Random number.
Random number has been passed. Currently at 50min

Quote from: c0ldb33r on 11/11/2013, 06:37 PMA little ugly but neat. Is it expensive?
Yes it is. You can find the battery for USD 50.- on BrickLink on good days, but currently they are at USD 70.- up to USD 130.-

It should be possible to get it into a Tennokoe 2 or an empty AV booster.

Quote from: esteban on 11/11/2013, 06:46 PMThat tiny little LEGO battery lasts 2-3 hours for LT?

Awesome.

I don't have an LT, though.

DAMN.
You read wrong, charging needs 2.5h for a full charge, I'm currently testing how long the battery holds up. Expect less.

The LT has a great screen!

Which PC Engine needs 9V DC to operate? About all of them.

Which building toy operates with 9V DC equipment? LEGO.

The Rechargable Battery Box released for the new Power Functions train line is almost perfect for our purpose. As it's designed to output 9V at extreme conditions and is save to operate.

Also the chargers tip fits and powers the LT perfectly. But for this operation a second such tip is needed to modify a Power Functions extension cable to get the battery connected to the LT.

I did this with a little tape and it actually works!

IMG

+ No modification necessary on expensive PC Engine equipment
+ Easy to install
+ Of the shelf parts
+ charger doubles as power supply for local mains voltage
+ LEGOs integrated safety measures greatly reduces risks associated with handling LiPo batteries
+ a full charge takes about 2.5h (80% in 2h)
+ voltage characteristics are nearly constant during operation (source)
- only about 1200mAh (Didn't do any battery measurements yet.)
- Battery shuts off after 2-3h do to safety concerns (can be circumvented with having the charger connected to the battery)
- Expensive (Battery about USD 50.- - 100.-)

No I can OBEY on trains without power outlets!
Also great for use as an UPS.

Quote from: esteban on 11/11/2013, 06:29 AMBut, if you are in Widnau, and want to buy very expensive SOCKS, I won't stop you. I don't know how my family survives selling socks and other nonsense. Socks? Socks.
HAHAHA, selling socks? I didn't know that yet
You're not talking about Rohner Socks, are you?

Don't underestimate good socks my dear sir.

Also if they would add a little OBEY to them, everyone here would order a pair or five.

Kunio's Soccer game wins anyway! Nintendo World Cup now OBEYs!

I actually have all three versions of R-Type, US HuCard, Japanese HuCards and the Complete CD version.

Depending on mood, I play any of the three, I like both soundtracks, HuCard and R-R-R-R-Type CD!
#22
Today I just OBEYed to some R-Type (FINALLY got to level 4) and some multiplayer Power League. Both is tons of fun.

And don't diss enjoyable games.

Best thing about PC Engine? There is no FIFA and no MADDEN. LOVE IT!
Also played some Alien Crush. Lo~ove me some Pinball games!
#23
Of course I need the Thunder games, and didn't know that A-Train was out for OBEY.

Also I'm in need of PC Denshin... I liked the HuCard game on Virtual Console, but didn't get into the CD version.

Also LT used for it's intended purpose: OBEYing everywhere, even game shops.

Disclaimer: There is no Dracula X in my possession.

But sadly, there are no standard power outlets in most train piloting cabs, I need a good battery and USB solution for powering the LT.

Now that would be awesome and impossible.

And yes, it's for real!

First things first:

/20131101_005838.jpg

I'm ZueriHB, also known as Waisneed on Nintendo Consoles. I'm PC Engine aware since 2000 or something, seen one (Suitcase) with Dracula X at a friends house. He is a big Castlevania fan, that's why he had to have one.

I myself didn't really get into PC Engine gaming until I bought myself a Wii console at launch (Long time Nintendo gamer), and literally downloaded all TurboGrafX 16 games on it.

In 2009, I got the chance to buy a PC Engine with CD-ROM and Fausseté Amour for a very good price (and a second CoreGrafX some weeks later). Also a good deal on 20 or so HuCards, all localy.

My collection is at about the state shown here, incl. some other CD games (Sailor Moon, Gradius II and Urusei Yatsura)

/20131102_134614.jpg

But I also wanted to play good games on the go, without the help of a Wii U. And because both my preorders for PS4 and XBone went down the drain, or got delayed until next year, this happened:

/20131108_120934.jpg

And for my continuing OBEYing you can thank dear Tatsujin, it's his fault anyway ;)

Current collection is at 39 HuCards, 3 System Cards, 4 TurboChips, 1 CD-Game, 6 Super CD-Games, 1 White PC Engine with CD-ROM and IFU, CoreGrafX (modded for TG16) with IFU and defective CD-ROM, LT, Tennokoe 2 with 2 Tennokoe Banks.

Games I like the most are:
R-Type, Super Star Soldier, Star Parodier, Gradius II, Galaga '88, After Burner II and Power League '93.

I'm still on the lookout on some Hard- and Software, I'll come to it sometime later..
