12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

Quote from: Enternal on 02/02/2016, 02:07 PMWhen they get back to making videos I think they should consider something like every 10 days. Other youtubers have said every week or is hard so why not try 10 days. Or even smaller 10 minute videos. Of all the reviewers out there. Game Sack is one of the better review shows out there. I'm sure a good middle ground can be found that doesn't overwhelm them but let's them release at a good pace to keep a good viewer base. BTW anyone know what they might be pulling in per month on ad revenue. Game Sack is the only show that I let the ads play all the way through.
I agree that releasing videos regularly would, at least theoretically, help any channel grow, but it's not exactly necessary(not that I want to encourage GameSack to release sporadically). Look at the Gaming Historian. He started off last year trying to release a video every two weeks or so and quickly realized he just couldn't keep up that pace with what he was doing. He slowed way down throughout the year(and made some great videos) and his subscriptions grew enormously.

I must admit I got pretty spoiled with weekly Sack. I think when they went from bi-weekly to weekly I just told myself "they wouldn't go weekly unless it was fairly easy on them", which was of course silly of me to think.

Anyways, I hope Joe and Dave take all the rest they need and come back when it feels right to them.

I saw there wasn't a new Sack episode up tonight and immediately came to this thread for answers! It took some time but I finally found the facebook post that was mentioned(when did FB get so stupid and not have activity in sequential order? Must admit I hardly use FB any more). Well of course I'm sad I won't be getting any weekly Sack, but it's most definitely a well-deserved break. I've often wondered how Joe keeps cranking these episodes out weekly, even with Dave doing his own capture footage these days.

I have also noticed Joe seems to take things pretty personally. You know what? I probably would too if I were in his shoes. My channel is TINY but even I get the occasional troll. I can imagine a big channel like Sack must get them by the truckload. Joe, if you read this, I just want to say thanks for all the good times you and your crew have given us. It's an awesome experience to watch Gamesack and the vast majority of us will still be around whenever you guys make your return. Heck, I'll even bet money you guys will have lots more subscribers when you return. Looking forward to more Sack and the opportunity to go back and re-watch some older episodes(like the Ys episode for the 10th time).

The Gameboy episode was fantastic. I'm not a huge GB fan, but as was said earlier, the episode was so good the time just flew by. I always get giddy every Saturday now, as opposed to every other Saturday, waiting to see the next Sack episode

Very fun episode. I like something off the wall like this that includes games that wouldn't usually fit into an episode. These types of games usually don't fit into most anyone's channel/vids. This probably won't be an episode that gets a ton of view, but I hope the Sack can continue to provide a good variety of themes as time goes by. It keeps things interesting and shines the light(good and bad) on games that are a bit off the radar.

And for Pete's sake people, Game Sack episodes are NOT ALL ENCOMPASSING. Ever noticed the Left in Japan ones are up to like six episodes now? They are all unique episodes. Six episodes, not one episode version 1.6. It seems some here are just busting balls by mimicking typical internet forum whiners, but I believe some are not mimicry.

Another great Sack episode. I can totally enjoy a Game Sack episode even when it's subject is newer stuff that I don't have much interest in, like Dragon's Crown.

And I don't get the poo'ing on the guest star. Guest star humor has to be outta the park, grand slam stuff or it doesn't belong/isn't worthy? I thought it didn't mess with the Sack vibe and added some nice chuckles.

Been playing Legendary Axe II the past few days. Probably would have beaten it the other day, but I set the controller down when I beat the final boss FIRST FORM! He had smacked me a few times before I picked the controller back up and I wound up having him flashing red before he wiped me out. Gotta love the cheap platforming in the later stages. Really fun besides that stuff.

There's a notify button at the top and bottom of each thread, and there's a couple options in your profile for how notifications work.
Great, got it now. Thanks!

Thanks for the new welcomes!

I tried downloading the tapatalk app, but didn't stick with it. 99% of the time I come here is on my laptop anyways. I'll try to look into the options and see what's up.  :-k

Doin' fantabulous! Thinking about Turbo'ing it up if I get the time tonight actually. How you doin'?

And is there an option to get alerts if someone responds to a thread you created? The only reason I checked here was to see who actually responded and saw a new post. Of course I guess I could dig into the settings myself...

Quote from: Joe Redifer on 05/02/2015, 02:53 PMThe reason those segments are on the show are because the show is structured after VH1's "I Love the 90s" or "I Love the 80s" or maybe they did both decades I dunno I never had cable. Anyway that show has similar cheesy segments. You can check out the show on Youtube.
Yeah, I remember those old VH1 shows and remember when they mentioned the inspiration from the old VH1 shows. I believe it was when everyone got all bent outta shape saying the "babes" segment was sexist.

And for the record, I hope you and Dave continue to contribute to the show. To me, it's still one of the best things on Youtube/tv and I'd hate to see you guys go.

I love The Video Game Years, but that doesn't mean I'm crazy about everything with the show. I do wish the episodes were longer like they used to be. I understand the explanation behind why they were shortened, but I preferred the longer episodes that I could kick back and soak in.

My other major issue is the snarky comments and gamebashing that seems to have crept into the show. The tone, in that regard, seems much different from the earlier episodes that were more informative and focused on why a game is being talked about decades after the fact.

But overall I still love the show. It covers the classic era of games and has many of my favorite youtube personalities giving some insightful and pleasant commentary. The production values/editing has improved a lot since the beginning. I could do without the "video game babes" segment(not because it's supposedly demeaning to women, I just think it's dull and a waste of time) and the "it should have been a game" stuff. I like it when the show just focuses on the games and the culture of the era they were a part of.

My PCE Duo arrived today. It works like a charm and is as clean as a whistle. It was packaged like a pro to boot. Super excited and enjoying Macross 2036 right now. Thanks man!

Well I joined the site last year and didn't get the memo that you're kinda supposed to introduce yourself until a few months later. At that point it felt kinda awkward to introduce myself. I guess I'm bored enough this evening that it doesn't feel awkward now. So anyways.

Been gaming since the Atari 2600. Nintendo fan 4 life. Alllllllmost got a TG16/CD back in the day as a co-Christmas gift between my brother and I. We decided to get multiple SNES games that year instead of blowing our whole load on a new system and whatever was packed in. Ys Book I&II almost made us take the leap though.

So I bought a TG16 a few years back at a local store. After a few years I had amassed a whopping 8 or 10 games. Guess I don't need to tell you guys how hard it is to find Turbo games in the wild. So with some help here I have finally been able to dig into the Turbo library that vexed me for 20+ years. Special thanks to Madboom specifically for hooking it up.

Even though you might not guess it from this longwinded post, I'm not one to just post and jump into a topic will nilly. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I'm far from a Turbo expert. There is a lot of Turbo knowledge floating around here that is starting to seep in with me. Big thanks to all who have contributed to that.

Anyways, I've enjoyed my time so far and have thankfully managed to avoid any landmines(it does get REAL up in here sometimes). Alright, guess that does it!

Gorgeous! That really looks amazing. It won't hurt my feeling if you show pics of the whole game room...  8)

Ninja for me. I've only beaten the game with the Ninja, but I did try them all. Not only did I like playing with Ninja best, he looks to coolest to me.  8)

Never have found any in the wild, unless you count stores and craigslist.

There is a game store right down the road that I bought a handful of loose, common games from a year or so back. They had a Turbo + Tale Spin in stock 5+ years ago.

There is an antique store I frequent that has a (mostly) classic/retro game section. He actually has had a Ninja Spirit that he can't seem to sell for quite a few months now. I've bought a few games from him in the past when they pop up and are priced ok enough. He did have a boxed Duo last year that was as mint as it comes. Of course the price reflected that.

Never had luck on craigslist, but talked to some dude with 4 commons that wanted a bit more than ebay prices for them. I passed.

Besides this forum, that is my experience with Turbo. It's almost like it never existed around here. There is one guy I know who keeps telling me he is going to sell off his Turbo, Saturn, and Neo Geo stuff, but I think he is afraid to take the plunge.

I got Macross: Eternal Love Song in the mail yesterday. The disc is great, better than you indicated haha. Thanks, I'm very happy to have it!

I'm interested in the Macross game. Can you post pics and/or tell me it's condition? Thanks.

Welcome! That's a pretty cool story. Congrats on the deal.

Daaaaaaamn! Someone slap some sense into me if I ever dare to share an opinion without running it by you guys first.

Seriously, Metal Jesus is a light-hearted, upbeat dude who loves games and finding out about games he missed out on(he's said that in quite a few videos). And remember, none of those hidden gem videos are for experts on those consoles. Can you imagine someone trying to make videos or articles about hidden gems for a bunch of experts? Not only would it not be news to the experts, but they would probably say some mean things about it on a forum somewhere!

I got my games in from Madboom the other day(not my first time doing biz with him). Just wanted to say that they were all in great condition and arrived very quickly. Always a pleasure, thanks man.

Count me in please.

Not that it matters, but what's the general consensus on Victory Run?
#23
Red for me too. I've thought about switching up more often though. Sometimes when the action gets busy I lose track of the ship. Maybe yellow stands out a little better...

Been playing Blazing Lazers until I finished it the other day. Such a fun game.

Tried out Silent Debuggers after finishing Blazing Lazers. A bit obtuse, but I'm intrigued enough that I'll revisit it(probably after the holidays).

Really sorry to hear about this. That really blows. I've worried about my stuff getting stolen too. I don't worry about friends stealing it(my "hanging out" and party days are long over), but I do worry about a random robbery or the wrong person hearing about my stuff from family/friends.

I'm sure you've thought of it, and ultimately I doubt it will help you find your stuff, but another thing to consider is the time you were gone when the games were stolen. For instance, if it happened during your work day consider which of your friends were also working at their jobs that day. If nothing else, it might help eliminate suspects. That way at least you won't have that cloud of suspicion over certain friends any more.

Best of luck with this sad situation dude.

Wow this is really cool that she's playing Turbo with you. Maybe my old lady will do the same one day.

So far the only 2 games(since we've been together) that my wife has spent any decent amount of time with is Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Disney Magical World on 3DS. Amazingly enough, she put over 100 hours in AC and over 300 in Disney. The only classic era game she's played with me is TMNT IV on SNES. She played about 10 minutes and said she enjoyed it, but then went to do laundry. I guess that's a good problem though haha.
