@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

They should have just let xseed keep it, NISA has proven again and again that they're never in any danger of giving a single fuck.

More like apathy really. I was hoping the PS4 version would at least add in some of the content they had to remove when they downgraded the game to the SNES. Unfortunately it's just the snes game with a different coat of low-poly 3d paint.

I just don't see any reason to really get this over a super nintendo cart. It costs about as much, but looks and sounds so much worse.

Same shit happened to me a few weeks ago, only the guy selling it to me was so incompetent at the con he.ended up gaving me all the money AND the game.

I should raffle it off some time, wonder if anyone even likes sms.

Vasteel. I dont know what it is about strategy game with hexagonspaces or feature length movies before the game starts, but i cant stand them.
#12
It just doesnt get power, the screen never turns on.
#13
Well, i fucked up. I used a 12v adapter on a turbo express and now it doesnt power on. Is it possible to fix? If so, how much would it cost and what parts would be required?

Also looking to buy a turbografx ac adapter, and if possible to fix, a screen mod

Seriously need an ac for the thing, batteries are just too impractical to use and i cant find a substitute that will fit, and not fry it. Mostly looking to trade, but if nobodys got one/willing to part with it, i am willing to sell and just buy from one off ebay, really hoping i can get a trade going before that step.

Have(none of these come w cardboard):
Dungeon Explorer, no manual
Final Zone II
Lords of the rising sun, no manual
Valis II

Quote from: Winniez on 01/05/2018, 04:08 PMThey just keep releasing these although WiiU is all but buried. Shame they don't do these for 3DS, would be a better fit and it might be fun to buy few shooters and practice them on a go.
Also choice of games is sometimes fairly dubious.
They actually did a few for 3ds, in japan anyways. Strange that they never released them in america though, because they're pretty much all but ready for US release, even the little home icon with the console next to an oldschool TV changes to a TG-16 if it runs on a US 3DS.

How expensive were you told the games were?
An recent example would be someone on a different forum saying a Vasteel with a map for, around 120 bucks was a good deal, then a day later another one shows up for ~90.

Or seeing Ys 1&2 and 3 actually sell for almost 200 bucks on a forum, when someone was selling the exact same thing for ~120 on ebay.

I'll post my timeline, no bully
1998: Bonk on the gameboy's pretty fun!
2009: Man, they made more of Bonk on this obscure console i've never heard of, i'm sold!
2010-2015: Trying out random shit in magic engine
2016: Alright time to bite the bullet i've got a console and a few chips and CDs, and i'll get an everdrive for the su- Wait, the CD unit is HOW much? Fuck that.

Quote from: kitkit.com on 08/05/2017, 05:18 PMOut of all the Japanese dating sims that came out in the 90s, I would say Tokimeki Memorial is the most enjoyable and playable.

Super Star Soldier, but that 4th level boss keeps kicking my ass. Wouldn't even be so bad if it wasn't for all the missiles it shoots out.

The smart thing you should of done was ask me personally about it before you threw it up there. I would of told you exactly why I ended up selling the nes classic. I understand I would of been upset too and would of called the person out. But that's cool bro.
I reaaaly the stupidity in this was condensed short enough to fit in a signature
just replace the one you have now. Theyre about the same size.

Personally i can justify some of the high prices for replacement cases to some of the absolutely rare games, like, even if i'm not going to sell them, it was still cheaper for me to buy a replacement case/manual to my loose copy, than it would be to just buy a cib copy, and i find that generic cases are a good way to just get your discs cracked(rip that copy of conker i used to own, hope it's in a better place and didn't shatter in an xbox)

tg16 stuff is weird though, i've seen the regular cases go for $10 or less, yet the repro stuff that requires you to buy your own stickers, and i think CD cases is 8 dollars each.

Quote from: NoSexGex on 07/11/2017, 10:26 PMCurious if anyone has ever gotten a good TG16 deal from Amazon. I've looked a couple times, but have yet to find anything that's decently priced
Meh, nothing special, saved 5 bucks on a cart only game once.

Card only in decent shape, will come with a sleeve.

How much for Military madness or Devil's crush, assuming they don't come with the boxes?

Quote from: guest on 06/26/2017, 08:41 PMSo, has the NES Mini driven the price up on NES games? Too soon to tell? The opposite? I already have all these games, so I'm not worried personally about the price, but the ripples could affect the market as a whole.
From what i've heard, it had the opposite effect everyone expected it to have, rather than dropping the prices of the games included, the prices stayed the same while the NES Mini shot up like a rocket. This is partly why i'm expecting the snes mini to be, like, around 6, maybe $700.

Quote from: guest on 06/26/2017, 01:00 PMHahaha, let's hope they fixed Star Fox 2.
Apparently, they do have a more finished version of the game over there than the ones we got, so hopefully that's what included, but who knows, it's probably just the regular rom+fan translation.
#39
Quote from: guest on 06/26/2017, 01:11 PMNice bundle of games.  Hopefully they don't mostly all end up getting scalped again.
Dude, c'mon, with Earthbound, an unreleased game and tons of other games that can easily fetch $50+ on the ebay? If anything it's gonna get scalped 5 times as hard.

Dang, not even a spare daytona or virtua cop. Oh well, if you're ever gonna sell that Sonic 3D Blast and Custom robo i'll take em off your hands.
#42
What are the saturn manuals you have stacked up there?
#43
Exactly, i'm not even sure if it can even use the CD player. It doesn't look like it can, really.

Quote from: Joe Redifer on 06/11/2017, 04:17 AMThis deserves it's own thread. People who are buying pre-modded systems off of eBay probably won't wander into the repair/mods subforum first and very likely don't know about the glorious DoujinDance. This video from Voultar opens up one of DoucheinDance's systems that was sold for $400 on eBay and fixes everything. Watching him work is kind of like watching and listening to a vulgar Bob Ross fix PC Engine stuff. Very satisfying to watch this get fixed and enjoy his techniques. Yes, it's sexual.
QuoteDoujinDance can't mod for shit
Oh Damn that's not good... least it was cheaper than actually buying a real Duo, and, i didn't actually buy it from him.

Quote from: wiseau on 06/01/2017, 09:27 PMi just don't see the prices going down, if some of the rumors about resellers destroying copies of games to raise prices and stuff turns out to be true, anyways.
Is there evidence for this? Most gaming examples I have heard of destroying merch was corporate directives, and a few examples in other hobbies. I can see tossing worthless crap like 90s baseball cards, but not valuable games.
never found any evidence, but the rumor was someone, possibly from NA, bought out as many copies as they could find of a common Gameboy game and destroyed them to increase the price, as a sort of experiment.

How much would a region/Recap mod cost for just a normal turbo grafx? I have an air zonk, and a sidearms manual i guess i can part with.
