I remember ya. You've returned, and boy, with quite the raffle!!! I would've strongly considered participating but I went and bought it with the 20 man group buy jtucci managed to pull off for $70 a pop with shipping a few weeks back. But anyhow, +50 TurboKarma for you for such generosity...if you're serious, that is...
Thanks very much. And my hope is that this prize will be won by someone who needs but does not yet have one.

Right now, there are not many people in contention for the Turbo Everdrive. So this is still very much up for grabs.

Quote from: guest on 10/08/2014, 11:36 AMHe is... serious.  I remember his intro- seriously memorable.

Seriously generous contest, mate. If I didn't suck at video games I'd totally be on board... sadly, i just buy them to put on a shelf (to impress the ladies).
Yes, anyone who knows me knows that I am Serious.

Something I an striving to accomplish is to turn game collectors into game players. I want no game to gather dust on anyone's shelf (or the protective covering/wrapping that the game may be stored in).

This is my purpose in life; my life's mission.

Join me.

Quote from: clackattack on 10/09/2014, 03:54 PMNot sure if I really have the free time/skill to really deem this worth doing.... but what the hell, I signed up! Maybe I can get lucky and no one else will want to play the crappy games like I enjoy playing ;)
There hasn't been as much PC Engine submissions on the site leading up to this contest as I'd like, so the competition in this category hasn't been that intense so far.

Also worth noting: There are separate rankings for gameplay using a real console and using an emulator, so you can target achieving the top score in either category (or both).

Umm.. Sorry you feel that way. I thought the fact that I was giving away a Turbo Everdrive (out of my own pocket) would be of interest.

Quote from: mitsuman on 10/07/2014, 01:49 PMAnd they are using a close version of my avatar.
Ok, I'll change it. When I joined a few months ago, no one told me this. Military Madness is my favorite TG16 game, which is why I chose it. The only other avatar-able graphic in that game was the evil guy at the U.N. I choose not to associate myself with the Axis-Xenon forces.

Quote from: BigusSchmuck on 10/07/2014, 12:50 PMWhat games are eligible? I didn't see a list on your site..
Any TG16/PC Engine game.

The goal is to accumulate as many "worldwide" trophies as possible in the category. If there is already a score on the game in the database, you have to beat that score to earn the trophy. If the game has no score, your score once validated would receive the trophy, but you have to hang on to that trophy until the end of the contest (in other words, if your score is low, it will likely be cracked).

I made it to Classic Game Fest in Austin, TX this year. I was hoping to go to the gaming expo in Houston also, but it doesn't look like its going to happen.

If I was going to pick one event to go to next year, Seattle would be the one, followed by Portland.

I'm hosting a High Score contest with a Turbo Everdrive as the prize.

Here's how it works:

1. The participant who acquires and retains the most "worldwide" trophies (by having the highest score on a specific game) on highscore.com during the contest period wins.
2. Trophies are won by having the highest validated score in the region. A worldwide trophy requires having the highest validated score in the world among all participants.
3. You must provide a photo and/or video as evidence so that High Score members reviewing your submission have something to evaluate.
4. If the game title you want to play isn't in the database, you can request it.

Details are here: http://highscore.com/contest/#tg16

Glad to know you guys care!

I've had my hands full lately, so haven't had as much time to participate or play TG16 as I'd like.

highscore.com keeps me really busy..

I'm going to make a point of trying to logon here more frequently.

NEC Console Resource / I am Serious

Hi everyone,

I'm Serious..

I just joined this forum a few days ago.. I learned of it after seeing the beautifully done video on YouTube about the NEC PC-FX..

I recently re-acquired a TurboGrafx system (TG16)..

I owned a TurboExpress back when it was new, which I paid for from money made delivering pizzas one summer, but couldn't afford enough games and batteries to be able to truly experience the platform enough..

I've set about rectifying that recently, and I will probably upgrade to a Turbo Duo before too long..

I'm mostly a collector of Atari 2600 games and other systems of that era, as well as Commodore computers..

The NES and Genesis never really appealed to me, but the TurboGrafix/PC Engine games always seemed like they were in a different class to me, and I decided to go ahead and dive in, in a big way..

Back then, the only game I owned was Military Madness, which I played the hell out of (even though it wasn't ideally suited to the Express's little screen). Now, I'm focusing more on shmups, and have been playing (and loving) Blazing Lazers, Galaga 90, and Sidearms.

My system didn't come with a controller, but I bought an adapter from Tototek to allow me to use a PS2 fight stick on it, and that is working beautifully..!

I really enjoy competitive gaming (even though I am not that good), and I recently launched a website for sharing of high scores (called highscore.com ironically enough).

Given the high cost of some of the games, compared to other systems, I just ordered an EverDrive, and I'm looking forward to its arrival.

I'm very glad to be joining this community and I expect to be visiting very frequently!  :)
