Just for the heck of it... while I am making the actual fan game, would you guys be interested in a  Flappy Bird Clone with Air Zonk in it? lol...

Cause that is easy and I could throw that together on the side while I work on the artwork etc etc.

Air Zonk is one of my favorite games of all time.  I have a PS4 and I still go back to Air Zonk all the time, its just so good.

Resogun is the perfect game to look at what an Air Zonk 3 could be like on Next Gen.  Konami has the rights now right ?

Game Maker is more than capable than making a Shoot em up!  I have already put Air Zonk in a multi scrolling rough version of the first level.  The next parts are going to be getting some enemies following certain paths.  There is a ton of tutorials online that I have been following to make a side scrolling shooter - what is going to be the bigger challenge is getting everything to mesh and having the time and assets to keep going.

I am not about to give up!  Air Zonk is one of my favorite games of all time.  I have a PS4 and I still go back to Air Zonk all the time, its just so good.  The character is also my favorite mascot along with Sonic. 

I like the idea though to use rough assets and just plow ahead with the game itself.  I will do just that.  until I can get more support it will be enough until I get to the rest.

  I was playing CORYOON which I guess was the precurser to Air Zonk! I just found this out yesterday, downloaded the ROM and played it, holy cow what a great game!  It even has a lot of the same sound effects and weapons!  check it out!

The music could be cd quality, or full on high quality midi, just the same music from the first game if possible.  Cyber city was always a great tune!

I am pretty good with Game Maker, I know I can make the game.  I would love some support though, anyone with some extra knowledge would definetly not hurt this cause!

Haha!  That is fine, I appreciate it!  Imagine how great it would be if Zonk was made for the modern era??

I have a ton of ideas... first off I would want to keep the art close to all of the original Ad artwork you see on the Duo ads.  I also love the Japanese Air Zonk cover, its fantastic.  That picture of him flying is kind of what I am looking for in style.  I would also like to explore have the crayon outline on all the characters like you see on a lot of the game cases artwork.  The back of Super Air Zonk is a good example of that.

I can draw OK - but some help would push it so much further!  I am constantly getting better, but a small team to get this game going would be awesome.

The music I would imagine would be the hardest part.

I have been playing around with the idea of making an HD version of Air Zonk!  I am also looking for any help I can get. 

Here is some very rough artwork I have started to get going on this project.  I was going to use
Game Maker which I have a license for the latest version.

I basically need help with assets the most, I have found a ton of art on the web, and from the bonk compendium but there is still a lack of assets in terms of enemies and background artwork for the levels.  It is all going to be re-done but I wanted some stuff to go off of to keep everything legit.

I am just one person, with some decent programming skills, graphics skills, and no music skills....
so I am limited to what I can do.

Anyone with any Programming skills, Music or Art skills is invited to join me on this task!  With the artwork, I  need an idea to make the art stylized.  Then also some help with enemy AI and of course anyone who can re-master the music would be huge!   Thank you!
