@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

The Turbo Stick is excellent for Dungeon Explorer!

Yeah, I don't want this site to go down the crapper for potential illegal transfers. =;

If you do manage to watch it, however, it'll satisfy your nostalgia in a clever way. :) Rensuke Oshikiri, the original author of the manga, was an avid gamer back in his day and his character of Haruo Yaguchi, is in some aspects, a reflection of what he personally experienced as a gamer.

Do you want the torrent link? :-s

Hey all! :)

Just thought I'd pop in for the first time in a while to let you know about a new anime that premiered in Japan this past week called Hi-Score Girl. The anime is about a kid named Haruo Yaguchi who is obsessed with arcade and console games but happens to develop a relationship with a mute girl named Akira Ono who happens to share his obsession.

It's a cute series for those of you who happened to watch it and the recent episode covered Haruo's obsession with the PC-Engine. :D

Games featured were The Kung Fu/China Warrior, R-Type, Bonk's Adventure/PC Genjin, Altered Beast, Darius Plus, and Splatterhouse!

The episode also talked about the affordability of Hu-Card games in Japan at the time as well as the sheer luxury of owning a PC-Engine GT! LOL!

Unfortunately, I won't put up the episode as I don't know whether it is permitted under PCENGINEFX's terms but here is a blog site that has screen grabs from the episode and more info:

Quote from: SuperDeaditeROLF, I can't imagine spending $20 on such a piece of shit.  SNES is trash as it is, but PAL SNES?  ROLF ROLF ROLF.
Hey now, the SNES actually had good games on it, especially RPGs.

But that auction price? Yeah...I doubt it'll get bids.

Man, I've been gone from these forums for MONTHS and you guys never asked where I was? I feel so crushed.

Anyhoo, real life has been taking over as I've been focusing on my job as well as doing workouts at the YMCA. I'm also driving around more often than usual. :)

Even the name, "McKroket" makes me want to hurl. :-&

I wish Rusty Quarters all the best of luck in their endeavor. Arcade centers are notorious when it comes to low revenues and frequent vandalism. It would be sheer luck for them to even be in business longer than a year. If Rusty can hold out, I'll be pleased.

Yup yup! :) The part about an alien spaceship being buried in a field was what grabbed me!

Quote from: estebanWhen a virus decimates the non-native pig/boar population (introduced by the settler-farmers), Newt's great-great-grandmother is driven to near-suicide (her beloved pig "Quahog" being the only means of harvesting truffles). It is in a moment of desperation, however, that she discovers an enormous spacecraft buried under a substantial truffle patch near the sorghum fields. In Ridley's own words, she is "torn between the immediate crises facing her family (sorghum vs. cassava, utter collapse of truffle production) and the allure of an alien ship undisturbed for millennia beneath fallow fields."
Sounds like The Tommyknockers to me. :?

I wonder if anyone here took a baseball bat to their NES to see how durable it is? :-s

I'll keep my eyes out for it! Thanks, TR0N! :)

I wonder if real Dutch ovens smell that bad? :?

Hopefully Ridley can still work his magic. My biggest concerns regarding any prequel are that they are potential plothole bait. I like Alien as much as the next guy but I don't want to have to see fanboys lunging at Ridley's throat just because one set of events in one movie don't coincide with another set of events in another.

Quote from: Samurai GhostSorry to get off topic, but it makes you think about how well-built the old game consoles are when you can play games on a 20+ year old system and it still works like a charm while newer systems seem to kick to bucket after only a couple years.
This!

And this is also why I won't pay a dime for a 360, PS3 or any other system that will come out in the future. I'm a classic gamer and damn proud of it! 8)
#45
I still want an official R1 Parodius collection here though. :(

Don't our fellow members here do mod work for arcade sticks?

The SNES was definitely a great system! It had an incredible library of games! I've always enjoyed playing Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Street Fighter II: Turbo on it! 8)
