I think Wonder Boy III's PSG tunes in particular are a good example of how skillful composition can transcend the limitations of a sounchip to produce something great. I don't think the inclusion of the FM chip would have helped sales much at all, simply because how tight Nintendo's grip on the market was at that time.

All jokes aside, good job. I'll never be able to not like the N64 because it's what I grew up with. Mario 64 and OoT were amazing to an imaginative 5 year old. Pretty much no one in my generation dislikes the N64. I had no idea it was hated until fairly recently.

I've used this guy's lists as a starting point for getting into PCE, SMS and MD. He includes some questionable choices and I can't say I agree with the rankings at all but it's a good way to quickly find a bunch of games you're interested in.
